Became known the details of the life of Yulia Lipnitskaya after she became an Olympic champion.

At the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, 15-year-old Alina Zagitova and 18-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva became the stars of women's single skating. And at the last Olympics in Sochi, the star was 15-year-old Yulia Lipnitskaya, who made the greatest contribution to the victory Russian team(20 points for the first two places). It is noteworthy that she, like Medvedev and Zagitova, was the ward of one of the best Russian coaches - .

What happened to the world famous athlete, who is now 19 years old? At the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Lipnitskaya became the team champion and the second-youngest figure skating Olympic champion in Winter Olympic history. IN short program tournament, she perfectly performed all the necessary elements and impressed with her unique stretch, which is characteristic only professional gymnasts and ballerinas.

The free program, which Lipnitskaya performed to the music from Schindler's List, glorified the skater all over the world. The director of the film, Steven Spielberg, wrote thanks to Julia for the fact that she was able to carry the image of a girl in a red coat (from the film) through the entire performance. After winning the team competition in Sochi, Lipnitskaya began the most difficult period - media pressure, increased attention, bordering on excitement.

It was no longer possible to live and train in peace. In honor of the champion, they wanted to name an ice rink, her photo was on the cover of the Times, she was begged to attend numerous social events and television shows. Coach Lipnitskaya admitted that during this period Yulia did not have a single correct workout, although it was then that she needed to hone her jumping technique.

At the 2015 Russian Championship, she took only 9th place, and because of this she was not included in the national team at the European Championship. " Now I understand why some athletes end their careers after the Games. People are just sucked, all of them are drawn out”, Yulia is quoted by elle.ru. By 2015, the relationship between the ward and her coach had deteriorated markedly. In the sports community, Eteri is known as a strict and demanding mentor who always puts high bar to their athletes.

To date, Tutberidze's uncompromising condition is the removal of parents from training children, since there is a negative experience with Yulia Lipnitskaya. In one of the interviews, she said that Yulia's mother actively interfered in her daughter's classes. In November 2015, Lipnitskaya changed her coach, choosing Alexei Urmanov as her mentors. At that time, Tutberidze was already coaching Lipnitskaya's competitors - the young Medvedev and Zagitova, and Urmanov was the only one who was ready to deal with the exceptional Yulia.

Weight problems again made themselves felt in 2016 - Lipnitskaya gained extra pounds, which motivated the athlete to active weight loss. To lose weight, she went to extreme measures - she ate almost nothing. Outcome: anorexia. By 2017, the sports performance of the athlete began to deteriorate, and in August of that year, Lipnitskaya announced her retirement. A year later, on September 12, 2017, Yulia gave an interview in which she admitted: “ I am no longer drawn to the ice. That's the whole story". The athlete decided to try herself as a sports commentator.

However, recently it became known that Lipnitskaya decided to return to big sport again, but as a coach. On her Vkontakte page, she informed her subscribers about the opening of the Ilinykh-Lipnitskaya Figure Skating Academy.

The main office of the school is located in Moscow, and training camps and master classes will be held in different cities Russia. As follows from the post on the network, the first training camp will be held in the Tver region in March. In addition to Lipnitskaya, the 2014 Olympic champion Elena Ilyinykh and the silver medalist of the Winter Youth Olympic Games Maxim Miroshkin will act as coaches. Numerous sportswoman fans wish her good luck and believe in her new victories.

Commenting on the departure of the figure skater from sports, she noticed that the Olympic gold won in early age, could not influence her decision.

“Some people end their careers much earlier than without winning so many medals. Julia became the European champion, the silver medalist of the World Championship and the Olympic champion. Some athletes ride for decades and don't earn as many awards. She could leave the sport much earlier and live in peace. Sport is a short period of life. Everything else is life after a professional career.

The gold medal of the Olympics at an early age could not affect the end of Lipnitskaya's career. This is complete nonsense. Probably, Julia felt that she had exhausted herself psychologically and physically.

I wish her health and happiness. Can she become a coach now? It depends on how much she continues to love figure skating, ”Tutberidze said.

The famous Soviet figure skater, Olympic champion, honored coach of Russia noted that Lipnitskaya's departure would not affect the strength of the national team.

“Will Yulia’s departure be a big loss? In Russian sports today there are enough leaders in women's single skating.

There is no need to worry about the Russian team. Lipnitskaya, a worthy replacement is growing, ”

Vasiliev said.

Russian figure skater Oleg Ovsyannikov, who won silver at the 1998 Nagano Olympics, expressed the hope that Lipnitskaya would be able to find herself in life.

“It is a pity that Yulia ends her career in such a prime of life. At such an early age, Lipnitskaya won and the American Tara Lipinski, who became an actress after an early retirement from the sport. Let's hope that Julia will also find herself in life. Should Lipnitskaya stay in the sport as a coach? Hard to tell. I don’t know if she likes to act as a mentor, but coaching is very hard work. And in general, not all Olympic champions subsequently become good coaches. In any case, I would like to wish good luck to the now former athlete in any of her subsequent endeavors, ”said Ovsyannikov.

The Russian figure skater, world champion commented in detail on Lipnitskaya's departure from the sport.

- Will Yulia's departure be a big loss for figure skating?

Yulia has already done a lot for Russian sports. Everyone here has their own path. Someone, like a small star, lights up, but quickly goes out.

Although we now have a lot interesting athletes in women's figure skating. And Lipnitskaya probably already feels that she does not match her competitors for a place in the Russian team. Perhaps that is why she has matured such a decision, which can be called correct.

- Lipnitskaya became an Olympic champion at an early age. Could this somehow affect her psychological state?

— There are many such examples. She is not the first and not the last. For example, Oksana Baiul, who, unlike Lipnitskaya, won the Olympics not in a team, but in individual competitions, which is much more difficult. Or American Tara Lipinski. In general, there are such athletes who at a young age did something, and then bam - and they were gone.

Probably, indeed, an early championship is a complex psychological thing. After all, one must be able to withstand the fallen glory and force oneself to work further. And so it turns out that the figure skater reaches the main title in sports at a young age and he has nowhere to strive further.

- Was high-profile story associated with the departure of Lipnitskaya from her old coach Eteri Tutberidze - the mentor with whom the athlete won. Could this have influenced Julia's decision?

- Don't think. , to which the skater switched, is a very good specialist, who, on the contrary, tried to “pull out” her after a psychological failure.

Although Lipnitskaya's competitors in the Russian national team, the same, were trained by Tutberidze. And, probably, Julia might have thought that she was not paid enough attention, although she is an Olympic champion.

And, perhaps, the transition to Urmanov was the right move. Alexey could help Lipnitskaya. But in this situation, probably, the case when the athlete cannot force himself to work properly. Not a coach, but the athlete himself. Apparently, Julia just didn’t have enough character here.

Now Lipnitskaya is 19 years old. Can she start at that age? coaching career?

- You can become a coach at the age of 15 if you have a head on your shoulders and you want it. However, it is not a fact that Lipnitskaya will want to choose this path.

Julia can continue to perform in various shows. She made a big name for herself - after the Olympics in Sochi she is known and idolized by the whole country. I think that after the sport, Lipnitskaya will want to realize herself in something else. Like becoming an actress. She has everything for this.

A coaching- rather hard work, which is not always a creative process. Usually this is a tedious daily job, and Julia is unlikely to do it now.

An unprecedented fame fell upon the fifteen-year-old figure skater, millions of fans began to follow her career. The attention of the Russian and foreign press was riveted to every performance of the young talent, to every jump.

Having become a legend of the Sochi Olympics, Julia struggled to keep the bar high. However, mistakes and unsuccessful performances constantly haunted her. The athlete took each new failure very seriously and constantly worried because of the unjustified hopes of the fans.

In 2015, at the Russian Championship, a talented girl managed to take only 9th place. In the same year, at the Grand Prix, she also showed no best result, becoming only the fifth. Such results lead to the fact that Julia goes to another coach. Commenting on the latest news in 2017 that Yulia Lipnitskaya left the sport, many athletes consider the change of coach to be a turning point.

For a long time Lipnitskaya trained under the guidance of famous coach Eteri Tutberidze. However, the conflict between them has been brewing for a long time. The heavy psychological burden that Yulia faced after the Olympics required constant help and participation. Perhaps the coach could not pay enough attention to the champion, as she was preparing other members of the Russian national team.

In relation to Julia, the position of the coach was based on the continuation of hard work, despite the dizzying successes. Tutberidze demanded from the ward a high workload and mastering the skills that the young skater needed.

In 2015, the athlete moves to Alexei Urmanov, who is considered an excellent specialist. He pays a lot of attention to his ward, trying to help her cope with the psychological stress and restore peace of mind. At the same time, the intensity of training is slightly reduced. However, the change of coach did not help Yulia regain her former glory; at the Russian Championship in 2016, she took only 7th place. Exacerbated old injuries and new falls led to the fact that Lipnitskaya missed several significant competitions and the Russian championship in 2017.

Fragile and slender figure skaters also have similar problems. At a certain age, they begin to gain weight and only help to keep in shape. strict diets and grueling workouts.

Starting in 2015, Julia began to rapidly gain weight, and this process was associated with hormonal changes in the body, and it was very difficult to influence it. The athlete began an active struggle with extra pounds, however, daily jogging and refusal to eat did not bring the desired result. Excess weight had a very strong effect on the performances of the girl, lightness and flexibility disappeared. It became difficult for Julia to perform incredible rotations, which became her hallmark.

Trying to regain her former shape, the skater began to severely limit her diet. However, this decision resulted in serious health problems. According to the latest news of 2017 about Yulia Lipnitskaya, the girl was diagnosed with a serious anorexia. The disease developed gradually, undermining the athlete's vitality and affecting her mental balance. Nutrient deficiencies lead to muscle weakness, making difficult jumps became almost impossible. At one of the performances, the famous figure skater was unable to complete the program, as her legs were cramped from constant hunger strikes.

Health problems led to the fact that Julia was forced to undergo treatment for anorexia. The girl spent three months in one of the European clinics, and upon returning home, she announced the end of her sports career. The main reason for this decision, according to the mother of the skater, was serious health problems. After the completion of the treatment, Yulia did not begin to lose the gained kilograms, tired of exhausting diets.

The news about the departure of the legend of the Sochi Olympics from the sport excited the entire sports community. Some athletes and coaches expressed their versions of what was happening, but it is impossible to deny the seriousness of the athlete's illness. Having gained weight, Julia will never be able to achieve phenomenal jumps and rotations, and it is impossible to constantly be in a state of anorexia.

Having become the youngest champion in the history of Russian figure skating, she stopped training at the proper level. The skater does not comment on such statements, but her efforts to return to their former positions speak for themselves. Julia did everything she could, but circumstances were stronger than her.
