Ayurveda weight gain. Gain weight

How to choose effective diet people with different constitutions? Your diet depends on the wind...

According to Ayurveda and Tibetan medicine, at the core human body there are the so-called three doshas - three substances of a subtle nature that ensure the normal functioning of all systems in balance. These are Vata (Wind), Pitta (Bile) and Kapha (Mucus).

VATA is the air element that is responsible for all movement in our body. Flows of energy (prana) move due to the action of Vata. Our breathing is the movement of air, the ability to walk, move; movement of food through gastrointestinal tract during digestion, the elimination of waste from the body, as well as nerve impulses - all this is under the control of Vata. And since Vata is a mobile element, it is the easiest to unbalance, which happens very often. It is the disruption of the functioning of Vata in the body that is often the primary cause of illness. If Vata is out of balance, we may also begin to consume more food than we need and therefore gain weight. Vata is associated with clarity of memory, sharpness of perception, but also painful attachment and fears.

PITTA - corresponds to the element of Fire (to a lesser extent it is associated with Water) and is the main manager of all metabolic processes in the body. Thanks to Pitta, we can digest food, extract useful elements from it, and maintain body temperature. Pitta is also responsible for vision, feelings of hunger and thirst, and most importantly, for supplying the body with energy. When Pitta is disturbed, inflammatory processes, jaundice, ulcers, and high fever appear. In addition, when Pitta is imbalanced, for example when it increases in the body, a person may develop a very strong appetite, which often leads to overeating and the appearance of overweight. Pitta is associated with such personality traits and emotions as courage, pride, the desire to win, but also anger and hatred.

KAPHA - an element responsible for stabilizing all systems, maintaining shape, maintaining the integrity of the body - in a word, it is a kind of energetic glue. Under its control are bones, muscles, joints, blood vessels and all body fluids. Thanks to Kapha, we can exist as an integral structure, the elements of which are interconnected. When Kapha is violated, cold illnesses are observed - colds, runny nose, dropsy. Obesity, swelling, and bone or skin overgrowth may also occur. Kapha is the most difficult dosha. It is difficult to unbalance it - but to bring it back into balance is very, very difficult! This takes longer than Vata or Pitta. Kapha is associated with patience, wisdom, peace, but also dullness, greed, and laziness.

When the three doshas are in harmony, we are healthy and happy. However, they are called the main culprits of diseases. If one, two, or even all three doshas are out of balance, diseases arise, appear from overweight, the psychological state worsens.

In accordance with the predominance of a particular dosha, several types of the human body can be distinguished. For each of them there are special recommendations for diet, lifestyle, health and weight loss. If you follow them, a person with any type of constitution can maintain slimness, youthfulness, high tone and optimism.

VATA PEOPLE ARE AIR

TYPE
Vata has an airy, light and cool nature. People belonging to this type are usually short (and sometimes, on the contrary, very tall) and thin. They have dry skin, dry and brittle (often frizzy) hair, brittle, irregularly shaped nails, protruding, visible bones and joints, and underdeveloped muscles. The skin is often dark, swarthy, with dark moles.
Vata people are very active, talkative, but they get tired quickly and their mood often changes. Often these people exhibit severe anxiety, fear, depression, and restlessness. The appetite of Vata people is variable - from very strong, when a person can eat three servings and not even notice it, to complete indifference to food, when a normal meal is replaced with a cup of tea or coffee. Due to their anxiety, they often abuse alcohol, smoking, and drugs. Some Vata people place too much importance on love and sexual relationships, put all their energy into them, and then suffer.

DIET FOR WEIGHT NORMALIZATION

As a rule, people of pure Vata type do not have problems with excess weight - on the contrary, they often need to gain weight. In any case, their food should be nutritious; the diet is based on well-cooked cereals, lovingly cooked vegetables, and meat. You should avoid raw vegetables, dry food (which is what Vata people especially love - they always keep a bag of chips, cereal, etc. at the ready), as well as bitter, spicy and astringent foods. You can drink dry red wine and mulled wine in small quantities; It is especially good to drink a glass of warmed wine before bed.
If a Vata type person still gains excess weight, as a rule, this is due to the abuse of sweets. For example, under the influence of fear and anxiety, he is able to eat large number chips, sweets, corn flakes, chocolate, cakes. To lose weight, you must first achieve psychological balance, and then limit your consumption of sweets and starchy foods, replacing them with cereals, meat, and stewed vegetables. Cottage cheese, cheese, fruits (especially sweet ones - bananas, peaches, apricots) are also useful.
Long-term fasting is not recommended for Vata, a maximum of one or two days - and then only if it does not cause discomfort and nervousness. It is also not recommended to go to bed on an empty stomach - if you feel hungry, drink a glass of hot milk (you can add ginger, nutmeg, ghee butter, honey). And if this is not enough, you can eat some porridge or cooked vegetables. The main condition for health for the Vata type is nutritious food in small quantities and regularity of eating (you can eat a little every 2-3 hours, since too long breaks in food will lead to destabilization of Vata and overeating). It is very harmful for Vata people to snack on the go and generally eat in the bustle or at the computer, as this will only lead the situation out of control.
Drinking for Vata is only suitable for hot or warm drinks. Cold drinks are undesirable as they activate the already cold nature of Vata. Strong tea or coffee should be avoided; it is best to avoid them completely. Ideal drinks are herbal or ginger tea, milk.
LIFESTYLE

The first rule for this type when weight fluctuates is to calm down and try to follow a daily routine, nutrition (eat at least 3-4 times a day), and get enough sleep. Under no circumstances should you stay awake at night (especially when spending time at work or in noisy companies); it is best to go to bed early and get up early. It is difficult for Vata to keep himself within limits, but this is necessary to normalize his well-being.
You should avoid overload - both physical and emotional. It is not recommended to watch horror films, scenes of violence, or listen to loud dynamic music (especially before bed). Excessive mental stress (especially prolonged work at the computer or intense communication) can also be harmful.
This type must dress warmly - even if the sun is shining, you should always have a warm sweater or scarf with you. Not for Vata and dousing cold water- you can overcool the body and cause illness instead of healing. All water treatments should be warm and caressing. A dry sauna, a relaxing oil massage, and lying on a hot beach (preferably where there are fewer people to take a break from the hustle and bustle) are very helpful in stabilizing Vata. You should not overuse sex and violent entertainment. It’s good to live in dry and warm places with beautiful, peaceful nature.
It is best to communicate with people of the Kapha type - they will help you with their wisdom, give you the necessary stability, a sense of the ground under your feet. You should not spend time with those who instill fear in you, criticize, judge, or simply nag. Communication with gossipers is especially harmful.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Vata people benefit from all physical activities that harmonize energy without increasing anxiety and agitation. Best result will bring eastern systems - yoga, tai chi, qigong, wushu. Light exercise is also good - badminton, cycling, swimming (only in warm water!), short skating and skiing, dancing. It is very useful to walk while enjoying the beautiful views. Excellent results Hiking will give you (but only if you go at your own pace and rest on time, and not try to catch up with the group).
Overly emotional and fast sports where there is a lot of anxiety are contraindicated (for example, football, basketball, athletics). In any case, try not to overdo it with training; excessive stress is contraindicated for you. When practicing yoga (and not only), it is important to maintain smooth movements and peace of mind and do exercises only until the moment they bring you pleasure, and in no case force yourself. Before performing yoga asanas, you must calm your breathing and mind.

PITTA PEOPLE ARE FIRE

TYPE Pitta is hot, oily and pungent in nature. People of this type are usually of medium or tall height, athletically built, they have developed muscles, reddish skin color, often with yellowish tint, hair with a red or yellowish tint, often many reddish and light brown moles. Almost everyone has excellent posture, a proudly planted head, strong, sufficient broad bones. At the same time, these people are characterized by speed and dexterity of mind and movement; they are born athletes, conquerors, and politicians.
The character of Pitta people is passionate, angry, harsh; the voice is loud. They love to argue, prove they are right, dominate, and suppress others. At best, they are creative, determined, witty people, and excellent organizers. They are also ambitious, they like to lead, they love and value money and know how to handle it.
Their appetite is always excellent - these people love to eat, they have an excellent metabolism, excellent intestines. They are also prone to active physical activity - they love working fresh air, competitive and extreme species sports - athletics, auto racing, mountaineering, diving, snowboarding, etc.

DIET FOR WEIGHT NORMALIZATION

Since Pitta people have a good appetite under any circumstances, the accumulation of excess weight in them is usually associated with overeating. They can gain weight quickly, but also lose it quickly.
The main problem of Pitta people is the strongest digestive fire (the ability to always perceive tasty and plentiful food) and impulsiveness. Fasting is not very beneficial for this type, as it will cause undesirable effects in the body and psyche. Excessive accumulation of bile will lead to both an imbalance in health and aggravation of negative emotions. Even one missed meal can negatively impact your mood and behavior. Pitta people should eat regularly, three times a day! It is best not to limit yourself in the amount of food, but to change its composition - avoid meat, fish, sweet, oily, fatty and spicy foods, giving preference to salads of fresh vegetables and herbs, low-fat dairy products, cereals in small quantities, not hot soups.
Food should be cool, at room temperature; Bitter and astringent seasonings are recommended. All sour varieties should be excluded from fruits, giving preference to sweet ones. Fermented milk products can only be consumed in the first half of the day. Before eating, you should drink a few sips of water: this will help reduce appetite, reduce digestive fire - and thereby partially protect against overeating.
If you want to fast, you need to do it for a short time, a maximum of two or three days, and be sure to drink a lot of clean, cool water during fasting.
It is also useful for Pitta people to spend several days on a mono-diet, eating one type of food (for example, rice).
Alcohol has a particularly strong effect on people of this type, causing appetite and igniting passion, so drinking alcohol, including beer, is contraindicated for them. Smoking is also very harmful to them.

LIFESTYLE

Pitta people need to invest their enormous energy in some good cause. These are excellent organizers who can handle any major undertaking. But at the same time, they should not turn into workaholics, which often happens to them. It is necessary to strictly observe the regime of alternating work and rest, get enough sleep and eat regularly. It is not recommended to watch action films, especially at night. You can dress quite lightly, and you shouldn’t overheat in the sun. In the heat, Pitta people suffer from dehydration, so they need to drink a lot.
You can douse yourself with cold water, swim in an ice hole - Pitta people are not afraid of any frost. It is better to live in places with a temperate climate, not too hot and dry.
Calming evening walks, especially near the water, are also useful.
It is best to communicate with harmonious people who are not prone to arguments and strong emotions. You should avoid those who are in anger, hatred, envy, and manipulate others.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Lungs are good for Pitta people gymnastic exercises, short run, shaping. Swimming, which cools the hot Pitta nature, is highly recommended. Too much involvement in competitive sports should be avoided (if you play football or compete in speed, strength and agility, you need to remain emotionally detached, otherwise Pitta may get out of control). It is also not recommended to exhaust yourself with too much load during training. Team sports produce excellent results, especially where it is not so much speed and strength that is required, but coherence and mutual assistance. Pitta people can be excellent team leaders. Sailing is also very suitable for them.
This type benefits from yoga as the final stage of any sports training. When practicing yoga, Pitta people can achieve harmony and balance in all body systems. They should perform the exercises as relaxed as possible, without thinking that they need to tense up as much as possible, put their legs behind their ears, or otherwise “defeat” themselves. If something doesn’t work out, then under no circumstances criticize yourself (this also applies to sports training). But praising yourself even for a small result achieved is a must; it will give a good incentive for new training.

KAPHA PEOPLE ARE SOUND
TYPE Kapha is cold, wet, heavy in nature. People of this type are the most portly - they have a large overweight body, strong bones, wide hips and joints; The ladies have a magnificent bust. The skin is pale, the eyes are large and clear. The muscles are developed, bones and joints do not protrude, as they are covered with a thick layer of muscle and fat. Kapha people usually have beautiful and strong teeth, thick hair, eyebrows, and plump lips.
Their main element is Earth, it gives them stability and constancy in everything. The second element, Water, provides moisture and coolness to the skin and a large amount of fluid in the body.
The character of Kapha people is stable, solid, balanced, memory is strong; they love and know how to accumulate money and things. Kapha people rarely lose their temper; they tend to strive for harmony. They love to take care of others, especially feeding; They know how to eliminate any contradictions between people - they are born peacemakers. Kapha people learn anything very slowly, but once they have mastered the material, they will never forget it. They have slow, sluggish speech, but often have a very melodic, deep voice. Since they are very responsible in relation to money and property, they often achieve a high position in society - they become businessmen, politicians, and officials. Negative traits of this type are a tendency to hoard, excessive caution.
Digestion of Kapha is slow. Sleep is sound, often excessive, which provokes laziness and lethargy. It is this type that usually struggles for a long time and unsuccessfully with overweight(the excess is usually represented by water and fat, but their normal weight may also be above average due to heavy and powerful bones and developed muscles).
It is said about Kapha people that they are able to gain weight just by thinking about food. A typical Kapha representative can live on his “reserves” for a long time. Since Kapha is not prone to movement, these people prefer fasting and dieting to any physical activity.
Kapha women often gain weight sharply after childbirth, and find it most difficult to lose it. The best thing, of course, is to accept yourself and your physique as it is, but this does not mean that you need to give up and get fat all the way.

DIET FOR WEIGHT NORMALIZATION

People of this type can and should fast for ten days or more, spend fasting days. Kapha is unique: it can do without breakfast and dinner without harm to health. The fact is that she has a weak digestive fire, and therefore she does not want to eat so badly in the morning, unlike Vata and Pitta. In the morning you can just drink Kapha hot water, better with ginger and a spoon of honey, or water with lemon.
Kapha people should eat twice a day, and only from 11-12 to 18 hours, when the fire of digestion is strong. Food taken at another time will bring nothing but harm.
The most important thing is to limit your intake of salty and sour foods, as these foods cause thirst and lead to fluid retention in the body. We also advise you to avoid meat, fish, eggs, flour, sweets, and dairy. Stale foods that pollute the body are very dangerous. The diet should be based on steamed vegetables, legumes, buckwheat, sprouted grains, vegetable salads (except tomatoes and cucumbers). Food should be warm; Cold drinks and ice cream should be avoided. Of the sweets, only honey is allowed - for example, you can eat two teaspoons of honey in the morning with a glass of boiling water or ginger decoction.

LIFESTYLE

Kapha people are most often night owls - they like to stay awake at night and then lie in bed until noon. However, it is more beneficial for them to get up early, before 6 o'clock (until Kapha time comes - from 7 to 10, when it is more difficult for them to wake up). They also like to sleep after lunch, which is very undesirable, since this causes fat to be deposited in the body and fluid to be retained. After getting up, on an empty stomach, it is good to do some active exercises, then take an invigorating shower (but not too cool, so as not to aggravate the already cold nature of Kapha).
Kapha needs to dress warmly - despite fat layer, they often freeze. It is very useful to go to the sauna and warm up in the sun. It is better for Kapha people to live in warm and dry places: in regions with high humidity, problems may intensify.
They also need to force their intellect to “move” and maintain mental activity. Positive emotions are required - without them, a person of the Kapha type can fall into persistent depression, and it will not be so easy to get him out of it.
It is best to communicate with other types - Pitta people will bring the missing Fire, help you become more active, and Vata people will add liveliness and fun to communication.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Kapha people need significant, long-term exercise - running long distances, weightlifting, shaping, swimming. They need to overcome laziness and lead an active lifestyle. Kapha people often become good athletes due to their endurance. Training must be constant and subject to a strict schedule. This type needs to train, as they say, until they sweat, so that excess fluid finally begins to leave the body.
Yoga, of course, is also useful for such people. But it should be remembered that static loads have little effect on Kapha type weight fluctuations and with the help of yoga alone they are unlikely to be able to become slim.
Of course, no matter how hard a Kapha type person tries to lose weight, nature cannot be changed. They will never be able to become like the supermodels looking from the covers of glossy magazines. But even within the framework of such a complex and massive bodily constitution, harmony can be achieved by achieving beautiful figure with pleasant rounded but toned shapes.

MIXED TYPES

VATA - PITTA This is the happiest type in terms of weight. Most of the models that today are considered the standard of beauty belong to it. Vata gives them liveliness of character and speed of all processes in the body, and Pitta adds activity and courage. They are not as fragile as Vata people, but not as muscular as Pitta people. These slim and cheerful people have an excellent metabolism, one can only envy them. In summer they need to follow a diet for Pitta and in winter for Vata. People of this type practically do not suffer from excess weight and are only surprised at how it can bother everyone else.
If, nevertheless, the Vata-Pitta psyche becomes upset, then it can be difficult to help this type - at the same time the person begins to experience anger, fear, and uncertainty. Appearance extra pounds may be associated with an increase in these emotions, therefore the main condition for normalizing weight is achieving psychological harmony. Any sports that bring joy and satisfaction are good: shaping, swimming, skating, skiing, rollerblading, yoga.

PITTA - VATA

This type is similar to the previous one, but its muscles are more developed, and the influence of Pitta is more strongly felt. They are more persistent and decisive; They often have strong anger, but at the same time, they can sometimes give in to fear and anxiety. These people are very active, realize themselves in social life, profession, and sports. They are enterprising, often successful in business, but for them the main thing is not money, but public achievements and prestige. They are not used to stopping: having reached one step, they immediately begin to storm the next. Their basic lifestyle, diet and exercise should correspond to the Pitta type, and in the fall and early winter the recommendations for Vata should be followed. These people have an excellent metabolism; they can gain weight solely due to overeating. Recommended sports are the same as for Pitta, but with a greater share of relaxing yogic exercises.

VATA - KAPHA

This is a rather problematic type in terms of weight, which combines the nervousness of Vata with the slow metabolism of Kapha. These are small people; fragile bones in their physique may be combined with excess fat around the waist and hips. You can’t call them thin, but they don’t give the impression of being fat at all.
Over the years, if they indulge in high-calorie foods and lead a passive lifestyle, they become closer to the Kapha type. And at times of stress, they can, on the contrary, lose weight, and resemble typical Vata people. In their character there is both nervousness and rationality, constancy.
It is not easy for such people to lose the weight they have gained. They need to follow a Vata diet in the fall and early winter, and follow a Kapha regimen in the second half of winter and spring, regulating both doshas. Any cooling procedures are contraindicated for them: for example, winter swimming and winter swimming are absolutely not for them. From sports activities They are most suitable for gymnastic exercises in the gym, games, skiing and especially any kind of dancing in which this type can get the joy of movement and aesthetic pleasure.

KAPHA - VATA

Unlike the previous one, this type is much more reminiscent of Kapha, but it retains the short stature and fragility of bones characteristic of Vata. These people can be plump and even quite chubby, but at the same time they have very graceful small arms and legs. Their psyche is more stable due to the predominance of Kapha, but in the coldest and windiest times of the year they can experience anxiety and fear, and fall into depression, characteristic of Vata. Their character is cheerful, friendly, sympathetic. They have a very great need for love, but if it does not find a way out, it causes overeating and accumulation of fat. It is very difficult for such people to lose weight. The main recommendations for them correspond to the Kapha type, but at the same time they should not fast for a long time (maximum two to three days, depending on individual characteristics), and if they feel hungry before going to bed, then they should definitely eat a little or drink a glass of warm milk with honey, to calm Vata.
The best physical activity for this type is martial arts, aikido, rhythmic gymnastics.

PITTA - KAPHA

These are strong, healthy people who gain weight mainly due to overeating and lack of physical activity. They have pronounced Pitta qualities, and also have a heavier Kapha component. They are active, impulsive, love to argue; very efficient. But if they spend time inactive and sleep too much, then they develop the properties of Kapha - laziness, lethargy; weight increases, all metabolic processes are inhibited. In summer they need to follow a diet for Pitta, and in winter and early spring - for Kapha. It is undesirable to go hungry, and fasting days on vegetables, low-fat kefir and cottage cheese will help you lose weight. Sports loads for this type are weightlifting, martial arts.

KAPHA - PITTA

This type has a predominant Kapha stability. These are powerful people who have highly developed muscles, bones, joints, but less adipose tissue than pure representatives of the Kapha type. They are taller, more massive, extremely durable and physically strong. They have plump cheeks and round, rosy faces. They have excellent digestion and do not suffer from cold - Pitta gives them the necessary fire. People of this type need regular physical activity until tired and sweaty, otherwise Kapha's passivity will take over and they will gain excess weight. The difficulty is that it is difficult for them to force themselves to exercise regularly. Their basic diet is the same as for the Kapha type, and in late spring and summer, when it is hot, it is necessary to regulate Pitta with the help of recommendations appropriate to it.

VATA - PITTA - KAPHA

A real princess. This is the rarest type, which combines the characteristics of all three doshas. These people are the most harmonious and versatile, but it can be especially difficult for them to return to normal when an imbalance of the doshas occurs.
Such people need late spring and follow a diet for Pitta in the summer, for Vata in the fall and early winter, and follow the recommendations for Kapha in the second half of winter and early spring. If all three doshas are out of control, then you first need to calm Vata, then normalize Pitta, and only after that move on to working with Kapha.

How to gain weight? Many people, oddly enough, weigh much less than the recommended weight for their age and body type, and therefore struggle with the problem of being underweight, as it really prevents them from leading a normal life.

Ayurveda remedies

Ayurveda knows remedies that promote weight gain. There can be many reasons for unhealthy thinness, but most often the loss of kilograms is provoked by:

  1. Depression;
  2. Unbalanced diet.

In India, the problem of underweight is further aggravated by the fact that most people prefer to adhere to the national diet and do not eat high-calorie foods. In this country it has been accepted since the very early age feed children traditional foods, but due to a poor diet, children do not receive from food all the nutrients vital for correct height and development. As a result, they gain weight poorly and even in adulthood do not gain weight and maintain low body weight.

The problem of underweight in India can be prevented by strictly monitoring the diet of children from birth to a certain age. However, in such a huge country, dietary habits vary from state to state, and to ensure strict compliance balanced diet It just won't work. Therefore, the best solution could be special biological active additives or other means that help replenish the lack of nutrients. ‘Fitofat’ capsules are the best treatment for unhealthy thinness that Ayurveda has to offer. This herbal remedy will help you gain weight safely and naturally. Both adults and children can take it without any fear.

In the fight against the problem of underweight, people prefer this herbal remedy to other types of treatment because Ayurvedic medicines are really useful. They contain large amounts of essential nutrients and minerals. This supplement should be used as a supplement to your normal diet and does not require any change in eating habits.

Conclusion

‘Fitofat’ capsules consist of various minerals, protein supplements and other ingredients mixed in proper proportions. They also contain all the essential nutrients and hence can help in solving the problem of underweight in India. Any person who suffers from unhealthy thinness can use this drug. The presence of other diseases and health problems is not a contraindication for use, because the herbal remedy does not come into conflict with others medicinal substances, and will not worsen the patient's condition.

In Ayurveda, there are three psychophysiological types of people - three doshas. Each of them is characterized by a certain natural element: vata - wind, pitta - fire, kapha - water, mucus. Each person combines all three doshas, but in different proportions (one predominates), which determines the characteristics of his constitution, character and health.

“Each dosha has its own strengths and weaknesses,” says Garif Murzanov, psychotherapist, specialist in Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine. - For example, Vata type people are very sociable and energetic. But if you take them out of a state of harmony, they may experience anxiety and nervousness.” Many things help maintain this harmony and balance. Including fitness. The main thing is to choose training in accordance with your constitution. Ours will help you determine it.

Type of cotton wool

We often envy these genetic skinnies: thin bone, good flexibility, tripping and incredible energy. Moreover, they retain their activity until old age! Their metabolism is very fast. This is what they usually say about them: “They can eat everything and not get fat.” However, Vata type people get tired quickly, and if the dosha is out of balance, they become nervous and easily excitable.

20-30 minutes with a minimum amount of exercise.

It is difficult for people of the vata type to dial muscle mass. “This is their genetic feature,” says Kirill Ingi, leading expert at JustMe Club. — Section muscle fibers small, and therefore the potential for their growth is small.” Moreover, Vata has few so-called fast muscle fibers, which are activated during intense anaerobic exercise. Therefore, people of this constitution cannot boast of special strength and endurance. By the way, it is generally contraindicated to work on cotton wool! “This constitutional type is characterized by an accelerated heartbeat, blood pressure instability, thermoregulation disorder and difficulty breathing,” adds Konstantin Shadrin, sports doctor, fitness specialist. — Most suitable look classes for such people are just regular exercise.”

The best types of fitness. Vata will enjoy sports such as tai chi, qigong, tai chi, aikido, wushu, ballroom dancing, dance aerobics, tennis and badminton, as well as swimming, jogging in the fresh air, and cycling at a moderate pace. « Don’t neglect stretching, adds Garif Murzanov. — Pilates, any type of yoga, and gymnastics aimed at improving flexibility, joint and spine mobility will benefit you. Be sure to warm up before starting your main activities. This will protect you from injuries to ligaments and joints.”

How to maintain dosha balance. To avoid dystrophy and exhaustion, Vata should devote time to strength training. You need to build your program on basic exercises such as squats, bench presses, deadlift. You should start with minimal weight and exercise about 3 times a week.

Pitta type

Nature has not deprived people of this constitution. They are athletic, strong, naturally slender and have good posture. At the same time, they love movement and have a fast metabolism. Even if, by coincidence, pitta people lose their shape, they will quickly make up for lost time, regaining their slimness and beautiful muscle definition in a matter of months. They love to be the center of attention and are strict with themselves and others. If Pitta gets out of control, they can become overly emotional.

Optimal training duration: 30-45 minutes, the complex should include an average number of exercises.

What to consider when choosing a fitness strategy. Due to their metabolic characteristics, Pitta people easily process protein from food and build muscle from it. Moreover, their constitution promotes the accumulation of glycogen in the muscles. This makes it possible to withstand prolonged and intense loads. “Any training is effective for pitta,” says Kirill Ingi. “For a person of this type, it is not a problem to make the abs flat or increase the biceps to the required volume. The only possible trouble for them is loss physical fitness after 30 years, which is inevitable with age due to poor nutrition, physical inactivity and slower metabolic processes. To avoid this, don’t give up fitness.”

The best types of fitness. Best option- classes with a uniform load, without downtime and acceleration. Tennis, skiing, skating or roller skating, swimming, running, walking and cycling at a moderate pace are suitable. “It is very important for Pitta to periodically burn out her inner fire,” adds Garif Murzanov. “And here shorter workouts, 15-20 minutes, but with maximum impact, will help. Alternatively, you can give yourself power load- spend short workout with maximum weight."

How to maintain dosha balance. Any activity that allows you to achieve peace and cope with stress will help with this. It’s good to start the day with a set of pranayamas or asanas from any type of yoga, except power.

Kapha type

Representatives of this type of dosha spend their entire lives fighting for slim figure. Any extra piece they eat is invariably stored as a reserve, but getting rid of fat deposits can be very difficult. Their metabolism is slow and it is difficult to keep in shape. Although kapha people are the most resilient and strong, they are at the same time very slow and lazy, it takes them a lot of time to get involved in a new business or activity.

Optimal training duration: at least 45 minutes, but it is better to increase to 1 hour. Classes should be intensive and with a large number different exercises.

What to consider when choosing a fitness strategy. Despite the slow metabolism, people of this type simply need to gain muscle mass. But their well-developed muscles are often hidden under a layer of fat. To achieve results, kaphas must give 200% in their classes! This will help them burn excess fat, remove excess fluid from tissues, and develop flexibility.

The best types of fitness. " People of the kapha type can get hooked on fitness classes only when they see quick results from the training. The best option for this is interval training. They allow you to reduce the time of fitness classes, which is important for busy people, but at the same time increase the effectiveness of the exercises performed. “If you want to get dry, such training should be done 5 times a week,” adds Kirill Ingi . In principle, all types of anaerobic exercise are good for kapha; their intensity should be quite high. This is exactly the case when you can set yourself a goal to overcome marathon distance. If you love yoga, then it is better to give preference to strength training.

How to maintain dosha balance. Kaphas tend to shirk their activities. It is especially important for them to alternate various types training, within one lesson, change the intensity of the load. It is advisable to review the set of exercises every month and a half and introduce something new into it.

In Ayurveda, it is believed that like enhances like. That is, a certain dosha can be strengthened by the same qualities that it possesses. For example, Pitta is hot, which means that spicy food or hot weather increases it.

Opposites neutralize each other. That is, a certain dosha can be lowered or neutralized by qualities opposite to those that it possesses. For example, a hot and excited Pitta can be lowered cold weather or a cold drink.

Example: cracker is dry, light, hard, this corresponds to the characteristics of Vata dosha, which means that if you eat it, Vata may increase. To neutralize this effect, you can drink the cracker with warm milk. This will moisten the cracker, soften it, and the warmth of the milk will warm it. Thus, Vata is neutralized by its opposite qualities.

Brief description of doshas

Vata is the energy that moves everything and distributes everything in the body. For example, on physical level: blood pressure, intestinal motility, breathing. At the mental level it is energy nervous system: It regulates nerve impulses, controls the psyche and moves the mind - thoughts and feelings.

Vata mind is the speed of the mind. By calming the mental wind (Vata), the mind can be calmed. Excited Vata gives an agitated and uncontrolled mind, calm Vata gives a calm mind.

Vata memory: remembers quickly and forgets quickly. Short-term memory. For example: I prepared for an exam, passed it, came out after the exam - and forgot almost everything. With sclerosis, Vata dosha becomes severely out of balance, which leads to loss of short-term memory.

Appearance: Vata dosha people are usually thin and have unrounded body shapes, usually with thin, protruding bones. It is difficult for them to gain weight. Their skin color is darkish, veins are visible, the skin is thin and prone to dryness. Hands, feet and skin are usually cold. The hair is sparse, dry and usually coarser than other types. The head is small. The eyes are dark, small and dry, with a mobile gaze and short eyelashes. The mouth is small, the lips are thin, dark in color, dry and mobile.

Pitta is the catabolic energy of fire (metabolic energy). This is the energy of digestion, digestion and appetite at the physical level and the assimilation of information
on a mental level. Fire energy that maintains body temperature by processing chemical energy in the body obtained from food.

The Pitta mind is a sharp mind, it hits the target clearly and quickly grasps the essence. Gives focus and purposefulness to the mind.

Pitta's memory is excellent: a person remembers and remembers well, and also best remembers the essence of information without unnecessary details.

Appearance: Pitta dosha people have a medium build. They can change their weight, lose weight or gain weight. They usually have well developed muscles. The skin is pinkish or reddish, with blush, moles and freckles. People with Pitta constitution are more prone to acne than others. Their skin is warm and normal, not dry, not oily, but rather moist. Most often, red-haired people have a Pitta constitution. The hair is of medium density, soft, fine and has a tendency to early graying or balding. The head is medium size. Medium-sized eyes with a piercing gaze and small, sparse, thin eyelashes. Lips are red, soft, medium in size.

Kapha is an anabolic nutritional energy. Energy of stability and sustainability. On a physical level, it is responsible for building body tissues, gives elasticity and stability to the body, but at the same time lubricates and moisturizes, giving the body elasticity and softness at the same time. On a mental level it gives stability and fortitude, but at the same time it also gives kindness, forgiveness and gentleness in character.

Kapha mind is mental stability and fortitude. An unbalanced Kapha dosha produces passivity and slowness of mind, but not peace. All thoughts just seem to fly by in slow motion.

Kapha memory: remembers for a long time, but if you remember it, then firmly. Long-term memory. Can remember small details. Appearance: Kapha people are usually overweight. They find it difficult to lose weight. They have round body shapes and a dense build. Kapha's skin is thick, oily, smooth, soft, cool and pale. The hair is thick, oily, thick and shiny. Large head. Large, attractive, light eyes with long and thick eyelashes. Smooth, firm, full, large lips.

Diseases occur when a person’s constitution is disturbed, that is, one or more doshas are out of balance. The balance of doshas does not mean that they are all equally present in a person (except for cases when a person is constitutionally Vata - Pitta - Kapha, see paragraph 10). Balance of doshas means that they are present in a person according to his nature. This is the constitution with which he came into this world. For example, a person has his natural and harmonious constitution as 50% Pitta, 45% Kapha and the remaining 5% Vata. This means that he has a Pitta-Kapha constitution by nature and he should maintain this level of doshas for health. If in a given person, for example, Vata rises to 30%, then this will cause illness due to a violation of the harmony of Vata dosha.

Doshas in a person manifest themselves both on the physical level - in his constitution, and on the psychological level - in character, thinking and behavior. Moreover, physical and psychological doshas can be different. For example, physically a person looks like Kapha - plump, with a dense physique, but psychologically he thinks like Pitta - he leads, acts quickly, clearly and purposefully, is quick-tempered and does not hesitate to express his anger. The kindness, gentleness and slowness that are inherent in the Kapha constitution in this person are not present in thinking and behavior, despite the fact that he looks like a Kapha.

Sometimes it happens that the physical constitution can balance or compensate for the psychological state of the constitution. For example, if a person has excited Vata - he is overly talkative, not focused, makes unnecessary movements and fusses, or is in nervous tension or stress - from this Vata is also excited at the mental level, which leads to excessive mobility of the mind and emotions and tension in the nervous system , who hardly ever rests. Then this person may suddenly gain weight and become slower and more lethargic, which on the physical level will appear as a Kapha constitution. But, in fact, the strengthening of Kapha in this case works as a physical protective mechanism on the external level to inhibit excited Vata on the internal, mental level. Thus, the mental excitability of Vata is balanced and compensated by the external physical heaviness and slowness of Kapha. In this case, firstly, you need to put Vata in order at the mental level, for example, through meditation, calmness, relaxation, anti-Vata food (sweets, fatty foods, lots of fluids, etc.), develop a philosophical outlook on life and correct attitude to stressful situations. And, secondly, to treat Kapha on the external level: proper nutrition to improve Kapha, in a healthy way life and special herbs to harmonize Kapha and maintain the nervous system, for which Vata is responsible.

Vata dosha is considered the main and most important dosha because it is the most mobile and easily out of balance. This is usually the first dosha to become out of balance during illness. Also, the other doshas work through it, it is like the substrate on which they act, or as the force and energy that directs the other doshas - if Vata is out of balance, then the other doshas also suffer. Therefore, during treatment, in order to bring the doshas into balance, it is usually recommended to first restore and cure Vata dosha, and then the rest. If Vata returns to normal, then the remaining doshas, as a rule, normalize automatically - unless, of course, the condition is severe and neglected.

Vata in other contexts in Ayurveda is also called prana - life force. As long as there is prana in the body, there is life in it. Increased arousal of Vata dosha leads to depletion of vital force - prana. If Vata dosha is in order, the life force in a person flows normally, he radiates energy, is strong in body and spirit and feels happy.

Hello, my constitution has strong Vata and slightly less Pitta. Digestion is extremely unstable. There is a very big problem with weight gain. Please tell me what are the recommendations for people with Vata dosha to gain weight. Eating according to a regimen, heavy foods (those suitable for vata) in large quantities does not help at all. Gas formation and bloating often occur. I eat something like this: 6 am - a couple of bananas with sour cream, honey and cinnamon. 8 am - oatmeal with milk (or cottage cheese with sour cream) with dried fruits, honey and nuts. 12 days - rice (or other cereals) with bread, cheese, vegetables and sour cream. 17 pm - buckwheat with vegetables and nuts. 21 pm - milk with spices. I don’t eat meat, fish, or eggs. I weigh 60 kg with a height of 180. And another question: how to eat when you have ARVI? I often get colds and at this time I don’t feel like eating at all, especially grounding food. I eat maximum fresh fruits and nuts. I know that this is too light food for vata, but eating something heavier increases mucus. How to eat at this time so that the mucus does not increase too much and you do not lose too much weight on fruits alone?? Thank you, God bless you!

Expert's answer:

Good afternoon, Dmitry!

You make gross mistakes in choosing food, meal times, etc. Stop this if you don't want to face serious illness. Believe me, I don’t want to scare you or question your competence in matters of dietetics, and it’s just that you apparently received incorrect information somewhere (and this is not surprising now when there is so much conflicting information on dietetics, including traditional Ayurvedic), but you are doing your best. I do everything possible to weaken my already weak digestion. Why bananas with sour cream in the morning? The combination of bananas and dairy products is one of the worst combinations, the listing of diseases arising from this in the Ashtanga Hridayam Samhita takes up a page of text, raw cottage cheese with sour cream is also not needed for you yet. You probably feel it yourself? How do you digest them? Further, fruits and vegetables are raw only in season. And the season is hot summer and no food from the refrigerator, even at room temperature, is “cold food” for you, etc. etc.

You need to select the medications, but I can say in absentia that I think Ashwagandha will do, Trikatu before meals (if there is no gastritis or ulcers), Chyawanprash with hot water or milk, but this is not the main thing, this is a start.
