Where and how the champions of the city of Baykalsk grow up and what kind of sports they engage in. Presentation for the “Project Activities” competition on the topic “Where and how do champions grow? How to make an Olympic champion out of a child

I have a big family; three children are growing up. The youngest daughter is 5 years old. She practices karate and theater. Average, seven years old, winner of city theater competitions. The eldest, she is 13 years old, is a champion in ballroom dancing in several European countries. When friends asked me how we managed to achieve such success, I always said: “I don’t know.” I never had the feeling that I was raising children in any special way. But one day, after another question like this, I started thinking about what exactly helps raise champions. And I tried to formulate my thoughts.

Choice

Many people think that talent, if it exists, will manifest itself. I am not a supporter of this theory. In my opinion, if you do nothing, then nothing will happen. In order for Mozart to begin composing music, it was necessary, at a minimum, to first sit him down at the instrument. If in doubt, try installing a piano at home and wait to see if one of the children becomes a great musician.

My eldest daughter has been dancing since she was three years old. I don’t remember that she showed any particular inclination towards dancing. At this age, children are usually inquisitive and try many things. Watch the child, try to feel him. Surely he likes something a little more. Start from this. Even if the baby’s tastes are changeable, like the weather in spring.

When choosing a section and a coach, I am uncompromising - only the best that I can afford. By the way, better does not always mean more expensive or closer to home. Meet the teachers, talk to parents and children who are already studying. Look for caring, passionate people. This is one of the most important factors on the way to victories.

You could be wrong. And it's not scary. There is no need to make a decision once and for all. Try different things. In our case it was dancing, English, drawing and swimming.

? “Do you want your child to become a champion?”

7,1% - No, victories please parents’ vanity, but do not make the child happy.

14,3% - Yes, it’s so nice to be proud of your children!

78,6% - Yes, if the child likes the classes. But if training is not a joy, we won’t go to it.

Role of parents

Our first ballet teacher once said: “95% of a child’s success is the work of his parents.” This has become a kind of mantra for me. Any parent who dreams of a championship for their child must understand that they will have to sacrifice a lot. In 11 years of dancing, our family has never left town for an entire weekend, “because training.” Is your child not at your beloved grandmother’s birthday party? "Because training." Vacation only for two weeks in July? "Because training." Parents must believe that all sacrifices (time, money, arguments with family and friends who ask why you are depriving your child of childhood) are absolutely justified. Parents create the atmosphere. The atmosphere can be inspiring or disorienting. This is important.

Sometimes they tell me: “You just, your daughter likes to dance. But ours is stubborn and doesn’t want to go to class.” What to answer? Children are not robots. They may not want to, get tired, or be capricious. This is fine. We had moments when my daughter was lying on the floor in the locker room and screaming that she wouldn’t go to the dance. It was terrible. I felt like a terrible mother. People around me looked at me with condemnation. It's gone. Over time, my confidence and motivation were passed on to my daughter. The moment came when she was already urging us on.

By the way, about passes. If you want to achieve results, train yourself to be disciplined. It is yourself that the children will take as an example from you. No “it’s too cold today”, “the car is broken”, “oh well, we’ll just miss it once.” Especially the first few years. Because regularity is important for results.

In cases with “I don’t want,” evaluate not the current moment, but the overall situation. I know, for example, that my daughter generally loves dance classes. She is not ready to part with them forever. So, we go through “I don’t want.”

Watch your child, communicate with the coach. Explain to your child the benefits of being a “busy person.” Be happy about any achievements. Create a ritual of celebration. One time in a row good result We suggested that our daughter choose a new link for her bracelet. Or they celebrated winning a prize at her favorite cafe.

What is needed for victories, besides the titanic efforts of parents? A special character. And luck. And desire. And ambition. And much more...

Life

For the most part, children strive for a routine. We just don’t always take advantage of this desire. The routine gives kids a sense of stability and divides the seemingly endless day into stages.

With a busy training schedule, a clear daily routine comes to the fore. But it is important to include in the schedule time for rest, when the baby can absolutely legally lie on the couch or watch cartoons. Such time is usually very short, but still it should be. Boring? What to do - leave a day off for improvisation.

Of course, the daily routine should be written good food. Breakfast, lunch, not too late dinner and a couple of light snacks that will replenish energy but will not cause drowsiness and heaviness.

Important point- full sleep. Sometimes for his sake we sacrificed schoolwork. homework. Or they did it with the whole family.

The main thing you need to understand is that parents will also live under strict regime conditions. Otherwise nothing will work.

There is no surefire recipe for raising champions. The main thing is to raise happy people who know what they want and know how to enjoy life

Team

Don't argue with the coach. Ask, offer. But don't argue or discuss his competence in front of the child. After all, you yourself chose this person. Made a mistake? Find another teacher.

Any movement towards a result is a team effort. Everyone is interconnected - coach, child, parents. In many ways, it depends on the parents whether this relationship will be strong and healthy. Try to build relationships carefully. It is important to agree on fundamental issues and simply maintain human relations. Show your teachers that you're interested. No complaints or requests. This is important. This creates a working atmosphere.

Sport is not only about winning. There are also defeats. Teach your child to be philosophical about this. Let the baby be upset, but not too much - so that you want to do more. Good coach usually knows how to find the right words to help, but it is also important for parents not to lose heart. Just like not to turn your nose up in case of victory. True champions accept both victories and defeats with dignity.

All your life you wanted to become a football player or a figure skater, but your dreams remained just dreams? Many parents with failed athlete careers prefer to take it out on their children, almost forcing them to go to various sports clubs. Where is the line between “I want” and “I need” and how to raise a real champion from a child?

Athletes are confident that after the Sochi Olympics there are no problems with hockey, skiing, biathlon or figure skating in Omsk. No wonder that winter views sports are the most popular in Siberia. However main question, which parents of children face - how not to make a mistake when choosing a section for a child? At what age should you start thinking about sports? Is it necessary to psychologically break children and force them to do things they don’t like?

Developing a habit

Sports experts agree that motor activity The child should begin as early as three years of age. This does not mean that with kindergarten the baby needs to be worn out physical activity. Not at all! But the habit of playing sports is well developed at this age.

At 3 years old, it is advisable to take your child to his first training session.

Activities Alternatives physical culture not for today, he says Valery Bachin, Honored Coach of Russia, Associate Professor of the Swimming Department of Siberian State University of Physical Culture. - If parents want their children to be healthy, from 3 to 6 years old they need to include certain physical activity. At least twice a week. At this age, gymnastics and swimming are ideal. There are special children's groups in fitness clubs. At this age, all exercises are based on game moments. The school now has physical education classes and sports sections. It should be as natural as teaching a child to write or read. Physical culture, as a part of culture, should accompany a person throughout his life. And it doesn’t matter whether he is first or tenth in the competition. It is important to support your child and give him freedom of choice.

At the age of 7-10 years, you can already decide on a specific sport for your child and roughly understand whether he is determined to achieve serious results or will train solely to maintain physical shape.

Training through tears?

What to do if all these trainings bring torment to the child and not pleasure? Dragging him to class, as many parents do? Svetlana Supriyanova, educational psychologist of the Center rhythmic gymnastics, has been working with athletes for nine years and regularly encounters such problems:

Yes, many mothers force their children to train. Recently they brought in a 4-year-old girl with good physical characteristics. The girl immediately told us that her mother told her that she would definitely Olympic champion. And six months later, when the physical activity increased and the girls began to “pull”, the child’s motivation disappeared. It is important to try to survive this moment with the help of praise. For example, say: “Look how much you can do!” You can wait until the first competition, which usually happens a year later, and then decide whether to stay in this sport?

They themselves are grateful to their parents for their childhood torment.

My parents forced me to study skiing“, although I didn’t like him,” says Elena Batsevich, two-time world champion in biathlon, Honored Master of Sports in biathlon. - When heavy loads appeared, I wanted to leave the sport altogether. But now I am very grateful to them for forcing me to train! Although I can advise parents one thing - let the child choose the section, conditions and coach with whom he wants to study. It is advisable to try 3-4 sections to make your choice. When the first result appears, parents should be persistent. A child cannot always adequately assess heavy physical activity. Over time, you get involved in sports and realize that it’s hard to imagine your life without it. Parents must have a close connection with their children, they must communicate with coaches, and monitor the child’s results. Becoming an Olympic champion is not the most important thing. The main thing is to just start playing sports.

Competently

“Before parents choose a sport for their child, it is necessary to ask the pediatrician if the baby has any contraindications,” says Tatyana Mironova, a doctor at the Medical and Physical Education Dispensary. – In the future, when training becomes regular, a medical examination is required twice a year. In the first stages, I advise parents to choose for their child artistic gymnastics, where they develop physical abilities - flexibility, dexterity, coordination. You can decide on your specialization later. Do not forget that the basic principle is that playing sports should not harm your health.

What sports are in demand in Omsk?

Answers Dmitry Krikoryants, Deputy Minister for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Omsk Region:

Our most worthy example is that the city has a multi-stage system for educating hockey players. A surge of interest in hockey sections appeared in 2004, when the Omsk team won gold in the regular season. I can say that everyone is popular in the Omsk region game types sports For example, interest in volleyball is growing, since the club also has a special children’s school. The higher the level of the athlete and team, the greater the interest in a particular sport. For example, after winning the Olympics in Beijing in 2008, interest in boxing increased in Omsk.

For the first time in history, Tver athletes are competing for six medals at the Russian Championships
This has never happened before.

At the Russian Championship, which opened yesterday in the capital of Mordovia, Saransk, athletics Seven representatives of the Upper Volga region perform at once. And almost all of them are medal contenders.

This is Daria Klishina in the long jump. Repeated national champion Bogdan Pishchalnikov - in discus throwing. And the winner of the winter national championship, Olga Ivanova, in the shot put. Russian Cup medalist Natalya Izmodenova - in the 3000-meter hurdles. The triple jumpers are Tver resident Maxim Shakko and international master of sports Alexander Sergeev from Kimry. And also stayer Roman Marenkov, who will once again test his strength in the 800-meter race.

Already with such a solid presence at the main national start, the Upper Volga region has established itself as one of the most developed athletics regions in the country. At the same time, something incredible must happen so that Bogdan Pishchalnikov does not win his next “gold”. Over the past years, the participant in the Beijing Olympics and the husband of Tver resident Olga Ivanova has no equal in the country. No one is even close. For Ivanova and Klishina, who have already loudly declared themselves this season, places on the podium have also been reserved for a long time. Sport, of course, is unpredictable, and that’s why it’s interesting. However, in any case, failure to be among the winners will be regarded as a failure for them.

The most amazing thing is that all this is again not thanks to, but in spite of. After all, in the Upper Volga region the most accessible sport drags out, perhaps, the most miserable existence. There is only one athletics stadium in the entire region - in Vyshny Volochyok. And even that, by and large, does not meet the requirements of the All-Russian Athletics Federation, and it can only hold competitions at the level of not even a championship, but a regional championship.

Moreover, our region is probably the only region in the Central federal district, where there is no athletics arena. So athletes and coaches are forced to hold their winter championships in Klin, near Moscow. It would be funny if it weren't so sad. “The Queen in Exile” was the title of one of the materials published in TZ several years ago about the catastrophic state of the Central Stadium in Tver, where athletics tracks were still being laid at that time. Two years ago, the reconstruction of the stadium seemed to have begun, but ended, as you know, with criminal cases against the contractors. At least now “Central” looks even worse than before the reconstruction began.

It is not surprising that track and field stars, shining in the Upper Volga region, strive to leave for Moscow and other regions where there are at least normal conditions for training. Now almost all of them, including those participating these days in the Russian Championship in Saransk, compete for their small homeland in the so-called parallel competition.

Nevertheless, the chairman of the regional athletics federation, Oleg Belobrov, hopes that the success of our stars will force our authorities to finally pay attention to the development of athletics in the region.

Big sport means big money. Not to mention the prestige and satisfied parental pride. But just take the child by the hand to sports section, being interested in his successes, cheering at competitions is already yesterday’s Soviet day. You need to invest in a future champion full program. There is such a profession - parents of an athlete.

Investor

What do you want? A lot of money is invested in any athlete. Especially in fashionable sports. Only then, when your child is noticed, will sports managers and sports officials pay attention to him. In the meantime, as in any type of business, you need to draw up your business plan ten years in advance. And calculate everything clearly and purposefully, including inflation, injury risks and political fluctuations. Perhaps this will be all your money and resources.

Here Nikolai Kruglov Sr., a two-time Olympic champion in biathlon in 1976, sold his medals to buy his son Kolya skis, equipment and provide trips to tournaments. The whole country is now rooting for Nikolai Kruglov Jr. In 1995, 11-year-old Sasha Kosteniuk had to play chess for money on Place des Stars in Paris. She and her father did not have enough money for the bus to the airport, and by the morning the future chess star had earned several hundred francs. And if you believe the family legend, Anna Kournikova’s dad once sold his TV to buy his daughter a racket.

And if we're already talking about tennis, then let us remember the words of Shamil Tarpishchev: “If you don’t have money, but you want to raise your child to be a professional player, you can send him to a sports school so that he can participate in children’s tournaments within the country and score points with the goal of getting into the youth national team. But this path is only for the talented and persistent. There will be no mothers wiping snot and eliminating competitors here, but there will be real sports competition.”

But anyway there is fixed costs: ranging from uniforms and sports equipment to payment for travel to domestic and foreign tournaments. The costs of group classes inevitably give way to the costs of a personal trainer. From thousands of rubles there is a transition to thousands of dollars. And this applies to all children - even the most capable. “Unfortunately, we have to face the fact that today’s parents want to get everything little blood, says Irina Slutskaya’s coach Zhanna Gromova. “Many people don’t understand that, no matter how talented a child is, there comes a time when they, too, must join the process. Not only morally, but also financially.”

You can, of course, bargain, like Mike Agassi, who managed to get his Andre into the coolest tennis institution in the world - the Nick Bollettieri Academy in Florida. He managed to reduce the cost of training from $3,000 to $800 per month (the lowest rate in the history of the academy!) by demanding that all subjects not directly related to tennis be excluded from the program. However, we will talk about Mike Agassi later.

Trainer and psychologist

The situation is simplified if the parents themselves are athletes or have experience coaching work. In any case, they are free to navigate their field and can find the right mentor when the heir has already exceeded their skill level. And if not, then parents need to gain the required minimum knowledge in the chosen sport. In order not to attack the judge with fists during competitions, in order to soberly assess the child’s success and, most importantly, to understand the hard work of a coach and take a measured step associated with changing a coach, section, club, city.

But that's not so bad. Your “business” is connected with two completely irrational elements: the child’s childhood and parental love. Keep in mind: you are practically depriving your champion of normal childhood joys. (The same Mike Agassi created a nursery for his son, which was painted the green of a tennis lawn, there were huge portraits of the great tennis players of the past on the walls, and instead of bears and rattles there were balls and rackets). You should not give your child dolls or soldiers, or read “The Scarlet Flower” or “The Three Little Pigs” at night. You must repeat endlessly sports stories with a happy ending: gold medals, first places and accounts in European banks. Training before school, after school and let’s be honest – instead of school. Are you ready for this? And is your “business object” ready for this?

After all, the famous transitional age will come. And your future champion will simply refuse to be one. He, you see, is tired, he is not interested. And all your investments turn out to be just nothing. An amazing point: many coaches say that future stars and champions come from families with not very much income. For them - little boys and girls - a chance in life appears: to become rich. And they often force their parents to spend money on the next step to the top, be it a trip to competitions or buying new skates.

12-year-old Zhenya Plushenko insisted on moving to Alexei Mishin from Volgograd to St. Petersburg. His mother Tatyana Plushenko recalls: “My father and I didn’t want to let him go to another city... And six months later, I quit my job in Volgograd and went to see him there, not because he was making progress, but because he was crying there in the pillow at night... Parents who send their child to sports with the desire to make him a champion must understand: money cannot solve all problems. Much more patience is required, the ability to hear your children, to help them with a kind word in time... And Zhenya earned his first serious prize money only two years after the move.”

Pusher and fanatic

You must also earn a reputation as a person who will stop at nothing or anyone to make his child a great athlete. At children's tennis tournaments, where referees are not invited, matches often end in conflicts between parents. It comes down to mother's verbal "duels" and father's fights. But this is, so to speak, in plain sight. There are also hidden mechanisms: additional classes, conversations with a coach at the stage of selecting candidates for a match or competition... Again you will need money, connections, the art of persuasion.

Of course, a lot depends on the child’s abilities. But a lot comes from parental control. If you want, fanaticism. Who is ready to subscribe to the words of Jim Pierce, the father of French tennis player Marie Pierce: “Marie is a beautifully tuned sports car. A real Ferrari, which I personally built. Why don’t I have the right to have the keys to it?” Let us only add that the daughter herself broke off all relations with her father, and the WTA banned him for life from attending matches under the auspices of the professional tour. Since daddy's cry from the stands “Mari, kill this bitch!” was considered the gentlest of all the things he yelled at his rivals.

The famous expression “Gat Pope” appeared in the chess world. The boy prodigy, who shone on the chess Olympus ten years ago, was completely sculpted by his father - former boxer, physical education teacher. According to Gata, his dad Rustem became “a comrade, a nanny, a cook, a manager and a coach...” He taught his son to read at two years old, and at four he was already playing the piano. Gata mastered the art of chess at seven. 8-year-old Gata beat masters in simultaneous games, and at 13 he won the national youth championship. A father took his 13-year-old son out of school so as not to be distracted from chess. He developed a special training system, according to which the boy moved figures on the board almost around the clock. In 1989, Rustem, accompanying his son to a tournament in New York, unexpectedly asked for political asylum. In the same 1989, Gata became an international grandmaster.

Two years later he receives the title of US champion. And Rustem Gatsky became the most scandalous figure in the chess world, putting forward a lot of demands on behalf of his son. The meeting with Anatoly Karpov in the battle for the world chess crown in 1996 in Elista became famous, among other things, because of Rustem’s “performances,” which almost led to the disruption of the match. But Gata lost, received half a million in prize money and, at his father’s request, left chess, receiving education as a lawyer and doctor. Now he occasionally takes part in tournaments and is still under his tutelage.

Another fanatic from the world of chess is Major Konstantin Kosteniuk. After his daughter Alexandra lost to the Chinese Zhu Chen in the championship final in 2001, he said: “It’s even good that the Chinese won. Let everyone know that success comes to chess players from those countries where this game is given due attention. Russia is simply unworthy of the championship. For this purpose, no one works for chess. But Alexandra will become a world champion, I promise you.” What will you promise to the world, squeezing your child’s little hand in your hands? Or is it better to keep your promises not to the Universe, but to your own child, who believes you boundlessly?

Tips for parents

1. Best view the sport that the child likes. Remember that he is another person, and do not try to choose for him.

2. To determine what type of activity a child is predisposed to, what kind of sport his physical constitution corresponds to, it makes sense to create a space in the apartment with sports equipment and trace the child’s personal trajectory: what will he choose?

3. Professional sports cannot be separated from overloads for which the child is simply not physically ready. Don't risk his health for future success. They are not worth his pain and fear.

4. When sending your child to sports, make sure that there will be experienced adults next to him who will not force him to risk his health for the sake of success.

5. Don't force him to continue playing sports at any cost. If your child doesn’t want to go to the section anymore, try to understand why and find a way out together.

6. Don't be alarmed when you find bumps on your child. Falls and bruises during training are an everyday occurrence. Provided that your child thinks so.

7. Even amateur sports require frequent leaving home and traveling to competitions. Is your athlete ready for such sacrifices? It's up to him to decide.

8. Children are affectionate people. Try not to let the coach use this against them or you. The best way— trusting partnerships between all parties.

9. It's good when your child is busy. But keep it in moderation. Alternate intellectual and sports load. And don't forget: free time, including the usual sitting in front of the TV, is necessary even for a child prodigy.

10. Focus only on sports result often throws people to the sidelines of life after they part with sports. Therefore, try to ensure that your child’s life does not revolve around sports and sporting goals were not the only ones in his life.

Football - the king of sports. One can hardly argue with this statement, given the hype that surrounds every major international tournament. And such names as Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo are heard even by those who are not at all interested in football. Of course, such geniuses are born, at best, 1-2 per generation, but you can become a great football player without innate inclinations. The main thing is hard work on yourself, the beginning of which should be made in early childhood. How to raise a champion and a future football star? Here are a few practical advice who should help with this.

Football as a way of life. At what age should a child be enrolled in a sports section?

Football– sport for young people. Upon reaching the age of 30, even the most talented footballer begins to think about retiring from his career. The reason is banal - over the years, the former agility is lost, and the injuries accumulated during this time make themselves felt more and more persistently. And young and daring guys, hungry for glory and victories, are already breathing in their backs.

For the same reason, professionals recommend starting to play football as early as possible. Preferably from 5-7 years old. There are, however, exceptions when boys of 10-11 years old are enrolled in football academies and grow into real professionals. But this is provided that young athlete there are certain inclinations for this. For girls, the age threshold is not so high: from 9-10 years and even older.

In fact, in order to attract the attention of a coach, a future football player does not necessarily need to have any supernatural skills. You can learn to juggle the ball like Messi or make crazy dribbles and feints like Ronaldinho over time. There would be desire and just a little talent. From the guys preschool age Decent motor skills and ability to maintain are required. This is necessary so that the football player can change the direction of movement at any time without reducing speed. That is why future mentors pay attention to such qualities first of all.

Football stars born on the streets?

Of course, many soccer stars began their path to fame literally from the streets, where their talents were noticed by competent people. In this regard, it is so important that the first step in becoming a future football player is taken by the parents. Why not channel your child’s irrepressible energy in the right direction? Moreover, there will be a positive return in any case.

Professional football players are trained by specialized schools or academies, which are often created on the basis of well-known clubs. They are preparing a reserve, which in the future will have to rejuvenate the main team. It is from these boys that future ones grow up hope Russian football . By the way, our young men perform more than worthy at world championships.

Everyone has a chance to get into a football academy, even with a top club. As a rule, a young applicant will have a whole year to prove himself and subsequently be enrolled in the main group. Another thing is that out of hundreds of boys recruited for training, after 10 years only a few graduate. This is healthy competition designed identify the best of the best. Every year sports schools They carry out a strict purge, expelling students who do not meet certain criteria. The reason may be not only poor physical fitness, but also a lack of discipline. No one will push the malicious violators of the training regime further.

How to raise a champion Even the most experienced mentor is unlikely to give advice, but at the academy they can cultivate leadership qualities in a young football player and instill in him the will to win. Upon reaching the age of 13-14, real tests begin for students of football schools, when on the field they need to not just serve their number, but work - for the team and for the sake of common victory. Already at this stage it is possible to assess the potential of the future football player. If a student manages to prove himself with the best side, then he has every chance to sign a contract with professional club. The prospect is too tempting to miss.

In fact, even expulsion from the academy should not be regarded as the collapse of all hopes. Quite often, failed football players find themselves in other sports. For example, in athletics. Who knows, maybe instead of the imaginary Ronaldo you have a real Usain Bolt growing up!

So, how to raise a champion? To hand over your child to the care of a coach and hope that they will make him a football star is, at the very least, naive. Not a single highly qualified specialist can give your child what only you can do - instill confidence in your little athlete. Even accomplished football players are not always able to cope with physical activity. Then what can we say about children? There is no need to demand too much from your child at once. It is simply impossible to achieve heights in a business that you do not like. AND football in this case is no exception. It is very important that your offspring understands for himself that he really needs this. And for this it is necessary to support his endeavors, praise him for successes, and support him in case of failure.

The main problem is that in the initial stages of learning it is very difficult for a child to concentrate. In a few years, the coach’s word will become law for him, but until then his parents must guide him: make sure he doesn’t miss training, packs and unpacks his gym bag on his own, etc. But you shouldn’t accompany your football player to every lesson - it will only distract him. For this reason, in some schools, parents are prohibited from attending training.

Regarding physical training and regime, then it would be wiser to rely on the professional experience of the mentor. The main thing is to ensure that outside the school walls the plan outlined by the coach is strictly followed.

Developed intelligence is a sign of a professional

Another important point is the intellectual improvement of the future athlete. Perhaps this will be a revelation for some, but a real football player must have not only an impressive set of physical qualities, but also an extraordinary mind. In football, you need to be able to not only hit balls with your head, but also think. Who to pass the ball to, where it’s best to move to get into a killer position, how to break apart the opponent’s defense with one cutting pass - all this requires serious brain work.

To increase the erudition of their students, many football schools, for example, introduce chess classes into the main curriculum. Such intellectual training perfectly broadens the horizons and shapes the strategic thinking of young football players.

However, there are many other ways to strengthen memory and increase brain activity. For example, a natural nootropic drug can be a good help in this matter. Memo-Vit, promoting improved blood supply to the brain. For athletes of speed-strength disciplines, this quality is simply irreplaceable.
