Volleyball qualifying women's World Cup. North America male zone

Now in full swing selection for the 2018 volleyball world championship, so hot battles are fought among the best men's and women's teams. Each team dreams of getting to the most anticipated sports festival. It is worth noting that the favorites of the championship easily make their way through the storm of struggle and the qualifying group goes on as usual. It is not difficult for strong teams to defeat less weak opponents. There are no major surprises yet. But in women's volleyball quite a different story.

2018 volleyball world championship men

For the first time, a certain story will happen that Volleyball World Championship will be held in two European countries:Italy And tourist Bulgaria. The date of such a holiday will be determined at a meeting of the FIVB federation in the summer of 2017. However, there is already a list of volleyball countries that have successfully qualified for the upcoming championship:

  • Brazil the benchmark of volleyball and also the winner South America;
  • Italy is the host country of the competition;
  • Poland world champions 2014;
  • Bulgaria is the host of the championship.

European men's area.

Europe has seven places in the luggage at the World Cup. In the main selection, six teams made it to the tournament for sure. According to the rules, 36 participants were divided into six subgroups. However, only the owner of the first line in the ranking has the right to immediately qualify for the championship. The best men's volleyball teams were selected in a round-robin fashion. Each team had to play one game from standings. The place was decided by points scored and victories. For example, if the team won 3:0 or 3:1, then it automatically received three points. If she won with a score of 3:2, then she received two points. In the event of a 3-2 defeat, the losing team was awarded 1 point. So, in the subgroups, the following countries won:

  • Finland;
  • Serbia;
  • Netherlands;
  • Russia;
  • France;
  • Slovenia.

Other teams, which include Belarus, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Estonia and Slovakia, will have to play another round of qualifying games. What is the whole interest in the fact that all teams are practically equal and everyone has a chance to win. Only one will win the 2018 Volleyball World Cup. Predicting the future winner is unrealistic, even if they wanted to.

Male Asia and Oceania.

In these zones, there are only 4 tickets for applicants, which will give them the right to go to the tournament. Final games will start in autumn 2017. Here are huge chances in such teams as:

  • Iran;
  • Japan;
  • Young Korea;
  • China.

Traditionally, these participants make their way to planetary competitions. Therefore, we can make some forecast that there are great chances in the above teams to go to Italy and Bulgaria. Of course, Austria, North Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia can also compete for the secret ticket of the AVC block. Will any of these teams be able to shoot? We think yes.

Men's African zone.

The African region can compete for three tickets to the World Volleyball Championship 2018. There, of course, the struggle is almost for survival, all participants want to fulfill their dream and go to the World Cup. The games are played in two stages. First, weak teams compete, then gradually teams with a high rating enter the game. The CAVB zone or block is very unpredictable, each contender has a huge chance of winning, both weak and strong, judging by the overall rating. The list of favorites of the African zone consist of Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia. Let's just say that they stand out significantly from others, so it's not easy for them to put together a fight. In principle, even the weakest participant has a chance, it all depends on preparation and motivation, because everyone knows how to play there.

Male zone of North America.

North America has been given six tickets to the World Cup. The qualifying round will start in autumn 2017. There the list of applicants will be determined. We can note the main favorites, who have great chances to reach the planetary part of the tournament. Teams:

  • Canada;
  • Mexico;
  • Cuba;
  • Dominican Republic;
  • Puerto Rico.

Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Costa Rica can show their teeth significantly. Chances are clear that it is smaller, but there is. These countries are not considered volleyball and do not give volleyball as a sport much attention. However, the athletes are playing well.

South America.

And here the participants are even more squeezed into the frame because of one ticket. The games are expected to be exciting and tough. Since Brazil has a direct ticket to Europe, there are great chances in such teams as:

  • Colombia;
  • Venezuela;
  • Argentina.

Only Argentina stands out here, because it has secured the ninth position in the world rankings. Only Colombia and Venezuela can take away their ticket, and then only if things really do not go uphill.

2018 Women's Volleyball World Cup

2018 Women's Volleyball World Championship starts from September 30 October 21. The host country that will host 24 worthy teams is Japan. For 12 years, the Land of the Rising Sun has already hosted three similar competitions. The advantage of the automatic component was used by two national squads for the World Volleyball Championship:

  1. Japan is the host of the championship;
  2. USA is the previous world champion.

The other 22 teams will compete in ruthless qualifying formats. They were divided into blocks. So-called innovation. For example, European selections have three parts: the first includes squads from small states. Since the competition has already passed through this stage, Iceland and Cyprus became the winners for the stranglehold. Then the participants of the Old World join, and they are already divided into six small subgroups. The champion of his subgroup receives an automatic ticket to qualifying for the World Cup, other teams need to play in the qualifying stages, where they will decide who will receive the remaining two tickets for the upcoming championship.

So far, the qualifying games for the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Cup have included: national countries How:

  • Russia;
  • Germany;
  • Türkiye;
  • Italy;
  • Azerbaijan;
  • Serbia.

These six teams, including the USA and Japan, are waiting for the rest of the participants. There are also six more applicants who will be able to finish off the coveted ticket. Among them:

  • Czech Republic;
  • Belgium;
  • Bulgaria;
  • Netherlands;
  • Greece;
  • Slovenia.

The highest chances are here in Bulgaria, because the girls were only one point short of qualifying from the subgroup. The Netherlands also have a high chance of winning. In women's volleyball there is a twist of unpredictability, which makes the tournament very diverse and interesting.

Women's Asian region.

The qualifiers for the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Championship in the Asian region have two parts. From the very beginning, 18 volleyball teams qualified for the group qualification, but for some reason, six squads abandoned the tournament. According to the final matches, countries such as North Korea, Iran and Fiji made their way to the second stage. They got to strong opponents. Those who will gain a foothold in the first two positions in the ranking and get a chance to get to the World Cup. The qualifying round is scheduled for autumn 2017. And to be precise, for September. Great chances for luck in such teams as:

North America and the Caribbean.

Six tickets are raffled off from the NORCECA territory. They include Central, North America and the Caribbean. In women in this zone there will be three stages. IN final part twelve out of 40 participants will qualify for the qualification games. The countries with the highest rankings receive direct tickets for the women's volleyball qualifying matches. Outstanding Teams:

  • Canada;
  • Cuba;
  • Guatemala;
  • Nicaragua;
  • Dominican Republic;
  • Mexico;
  • Puerto Rico.

The final stage of the qualifying games starts in October 2017. But there, in the fiercest struggle among the 12 best squads, 6 tickets to Japan will be played. Most likely, luck will smile on the Dominicans, Canadians, Mexicans and Cubans. The remaining two national teams need to show a productive game to get a ticket.

Women's South America.

Only two teams from South America will be sent to the World Cup. At the beginning of the qualifying stage, a ticket will be raffled off at the 2017 South American Volleyball Championship, which will be held in hot Colombia. Almost 95% of success has the Brazilian team. Girls show a phenomenal game and do not forgive anyone. On next step a squad will be determined in order to win another ticket for a trip to Japan. And here Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela will have to fight for it.

Women's American Zone.

During the qualifying games for the World Volleyball Championship, two tickets are provided. The qualification stage is divided into two stages. So, the first subgroup or stage divides the teams into seven territorial blocks, and the champion of the subgroup gets into the second part of the qualifying matches. Accordingly, volleyball battles do not subside, because there are still blocks 2 and 6. In the final stage, there are 14 teams in total. Two of them will get from the world ranking, which they have worked hard for years, and 12 will go to the first stage.

What is the Russian national volleyball team at the 2018 World Cup

The great news is that the women's and men's teams have made it through the qualifiers. The beautiful half won in all matches, only gave up slack in two sets for five goals. The strong half as well as women easily won their games. In fact, they gave one game to the Estonian national team, nothing more. Although in our confident performances, experts estimate the chances of winning the upcoming championship a little higher than average.

The ladies are playing the best composition, so Vladimir Kuzyutkin's wards must show the game aerobatics. A spoke in the wheels can wait in the playoffs, because the beautiful girls need to survive the toughest match against the United States. And the United States of America are the favorites and leaders of the world ranking in the upcoming competitions. Of course, the domestic team is able to win in the American women, but only if our beauties are in a good mood and luck smiles at them that day.

A few words about the male half, they are now undergoing the so-called generational change, which ultimately affects the results during important games. The 2014 Volleyball World Cup was not on Russia's side because the men lost to Brazil and Poland. As a result, only fifth place. Nevertheless, in recent years the level of volleyball in our country has grown significantly. The domestic team is strong enough even for Iran or the USA as the leaders of the world volleyball. For viewers, male rivalry greatly increases interest. Let's wish our guys good luck so that all skeptics close their mouths.

Afterword.

From which it should be concluded that the final selection will finish in the fall. Strong teams ready to go to Japan. Fans of this impressive and bright look sports can be found by all participants of the upcoming 2018 Volleyball World Championship. Every year, such tournaments attract tens of millions of viewers around the world on sports channels and the Internet.

Notice that the popularity of volleyball is no less than the hockey world championship or the football world championship. Best Moments among women's volleyball teams a little lower in the video.

Selection for the World Volleyball Championship is now in full swing: the best women's and men's national teams of the planet are fighting fiercely for getting into one of the main sporting events 2018. It should be noted that the current qualifying tournament has not yet brought any serious surprises, and all the favorites easily overcame less experienced and skillful opponents.

The 2018 World Women's Championship will be held from September 30 to October 21. The tournament, in which 24 best national teams will play, will be hosted by Japan, where three such championships have already taken place over the past 12 years. Two national teams were automatically exempted from qualifying for the 2018 Women's World Cup:

  • Japan (as the host country of the competition);
  • USA (as the winner of the previous World Cup).

The remaining 22 teams will have to go through the qualification, which has acquired a new format. For example, the European qualifying round includes three stages: the first of them starts the teams included in the Division of Small States (EKB). This tournament has already passed, and Cyprus and Iceland became its winners. At the second stage, the remaining teams of the Old World are connected, which are divided into 6 subgroups. The winner of their subgroup automatically qualifies for the World Cup, and the second teams enter the third qualifying stage, where they will compete for the remaining two trips to the planetary championship.

On this moment The following women's teams qualified for the 2018 World Cup:

  • Russia;
  • Serbia;
  • Türkiye;
  • Italy;
  • Germany;
  • Azerbaijan.

It is these teams that will join Japan and the United States. Six more teams, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Greece, in July 2017 will play in the third qualifying round. The biggest chances for the first two lines have the national teams of Bulgaria (only 1 point was missing to win the subgroup) and the Netherlands. Nevertheless, women's volleyball is so unpredictable that any of the teams can win the coveted ticket to the final tournament.

Women's World Championship: Qualification in the rest of the zones

The qualifying tournament for the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Cup in the Asian zone is held in two stages. Initially, 18 teams were declared for the first stage of qualification, but six of them refused to participate. As a result of the games, the teams of Iran, North Korea and Fiji entered the second stage, joining stronger teams. All participants are divided into two subgroups of 5 countries each. Only the first two places in the subgroup guarantee entry to the World Championship. The qualification will take place in September 2017, and the following teams have the greatest chance of success:

  • Iran;
  • China;
  • Kazakhstan;
  • South Korea.

From the NORCECA zone (North, Central America, Caribbean) six vouchers are raffled off. The selection for the 2018 World Cup consists of three stages, and only 12 of the 40 declared teams will advance to the final qualification stage. Teams with the highest rating in world volleyball automatically go to the last stage of selection. Among them:

  • Dominican Republic;
  • Puerto Rico;
  • Costa Rica;
  • Nicaragua;
  • Guatemala;
  • Mexico;
  • Canada;
  • Cuba.

The final selection will be held in October 2017, and out of 12 teams, only the first 6 will be eligible to go to Japan in 2018. Most likely these lucky ones will be the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Canada, Mexico and two more national teams that will show themselves well in the final stage of qualification.

From the South American continent, only two teams will go to the planetary volleyball championship. At the first stage of selection, one ticket will be raffled off at the South American Championship, which will be held in August 2017 in Colombia. With almost 100% probability, the Brazilian team will win it. At the second stage of qualification in October, one more lucky person will be determined, and several national teams have the greatest chances to go to Japan at once, including Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.

From the African Volleyball Confederation during the selection for the World Championship among women, two tickets will be played. Qualification provides for 2 stages: at the first stage, the teams will be divided into 7 territorial zones, and the winner of his subgroup will automatically go to the second stage of selection. Also, the fight will continue with two teams from zones 2-6. In total, 14 teams will take part in the final part of the qualification: 12 will pass the first stage, and 2 will be added according to the world rating. So far only Senegal has won the right to fight on last step selection.

Men's World Championship: Qualification in Europe

2018 Men's Volleyball World Championship for the first time in history will pass in two countries: Bulgaria and Italy. The exact date of the tournament, which will be attended by 24 best teams planet, will be determined in the summer of 2017 at a special meeting of the FIVB. Today we already know 4 teams that have qualified for the final competition. They became:

  • Italy (host country);
  • Bulgaria (host country):
  • Brazil (South American Champion);
  • Poland (world champion 2014).

For Europe, 7 places have been allocated for the 2018 World Cup. At the main stage of the qualification, 6 lucky ones were determined who would definitely go to the final tournament. All 36 applicants were divided into 6 subgroups, and only the first place made it possible to directly qualify for the planetary championship. The selection for the 2018 World Championship among men was held in a round-robin system: this means that each team played one match with opponents from the standings. The distribution of places was influenced by the number of victories along with the amount of points scored. For winning 3:0 or 3:1 in sets, the team was awarded 3 points, a victory with a score of 3:2 brought 2 points, and a loss of 2:3 in sets allowed the losing team to put 1 test point in the piggy bank.

As expected, the following teams won their subgroups:

  • France;
  • the Netherlands;
  • Slovenia;
  • Russia;
  • Serbia;
  • Finland.

Six more teams, including Spain, Belarus, Estonia, Belgium, Slovakia and Germany, will play in another qualifying round. Only the winner of this tournament will go to Italy and Bulgaria in 2018. All listed participants have approximately equal chances of success, so it is almost impossible to predict the last lucky winner from Europe.

Men's World Championship: Qualification in other zones

In the selection of the AVC zone (Asia and Oceania) for the 2018 World Cup, the schedule of which will be approved a little later, only 4 national teams will be able to go to the planetary championship. The final part of the qualification will take place in the fall of 2017, and the following teams traditionally have the highest chances of success:

  • South Korea;
  • Japan;
  • China;
  • Iran.

Most likely, it is these teams that will go to Italy and Bulgaria, but a number of AVC cathedral zones, including Kazakhstan, Australia, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, can compete for the coveted ticket.

For the African zone, only 3 tickets to the 2018 Volleyball World Cup are provided. A fierce struggle will unfold for them in two stages: the teams with the lowest rating will take part in the first, and more eminent teams will join in the second. The CAVB zone is one of the most unpredictable, so almost every applicant has a chance to play in the planetary competition. The list of likely winners of the qualification includes the national teams of Egypt (multiple champion of Africa), Tunisia, Algeria. It will be extremely difficult for them to compete with other teams.

From the zone North America 6 teams will go to the planetary championship. The main qualification stage will take place in autumn 2017, when the final composition participants. Experts include the following teams in the list of main contenders for passage to the final part of the competition:

  • Cuba;
  • Canada;
  • Mexico;
  • Puerto Rico;
  • Dominican Republic.

Teams of Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Honduras can join the fight, but their chances against the background of rivals look less preferable. In these countries, volleyball is not a priority sport, so there are very few players of a decent level who can resist the Cubans or the Americans.

There is only one vacant ticket to the 2018 Men's Volleyball World Championship in the South America CSV zone. A fierce battle will be fought for it by several teams at once. Since the Brazilians have already qualified, the following teams become likely contenders for the passage:

  • Argentina;
  • Venezuela;
  • Colombia.

Of the listed teams, Argentina has excellent chances of passing, which currently occupies the ninth line in the world rankings. Only the Venezuelan team can compete with them, but this is possible only if the game of the Argentines goes completely wrong.

Russia's chances at the 2018 World Cup

Both the men's and women's national teams of Russia exactly passed the selection for the 2018 World Cup in volleyball. Women have won all their matches in the subgroup, losing only 2 sets in 5 matches. Men have a similar result - in all games from the wrestling cycle, confident victory, and only the Estonians managed to take one batch. Despite such a confident performance in qualifying, many experts estimate the chances of winning places at the planetary forum as slightly above average.

The women's team now has an optimal composition, so Vladimir Kuzyutkin's wards should not experience problems at the group stage of the World Cup. Problems can only arise at the playoff stage, where girls from Russia will most likely have to fight with the leaders of world volleyball. The US team is the favorite for the upcoming 2018 World Cup, but the Russian team is able to beat the Americans with the right attitude and a good combination of circumstances.

Concerning men's volleyball, then in the national team there is a gradual change of generations, leaving an imprint on the results in important fights. At the 2014 World Championship, in their optimal composition, the Russians lost to Poland and Brazil, which allowed them to win only 5th place. The level of men's volleyball has recently increased so much that, in addition to Brazil, Poland and Italy, teams from the USA, France, and Iran can compete on equal terms with Russia. All this only increases the spectator's interest in the tournament, where our guys will make every effort to shame the skeptics.

Thus, the selection for the 2018 Volleyball World Cup for women and men will end in autumn, and fans of this dynamic sport will be able to get to know all the participants in the upcoming tournaments. Every year, the planetary volleyball championship attracts the attention of millions of domestic athletes who ardently support their national team. In terms of popularity, this event can only be compared with the year that will be held for the first time in the Russian Federation from June 14 to July 15, 2018.

See the best draws of the Russian women's volleyball team in the following video:

The Russian team won the qualifying tournament for the 2018 World Cup among women's teams in Osijek, Croatia. Yes, and there could be no doubt about it, since the Russians were opposed by rivals who were noticeably inferior in class. Five matches, five wins, mission accomplished. But the game of our team did not cause enthusiasm. And most importantly, it became clear that without leaders, the team quickly compares with outsiders in terms of level.

Played to Japan

There was no doubt about the final result of the qualifying tournament. The difference in class between the Russian team and its rivals is too great. Any other result, except for the first place, would be a real sensation. It is somehow silly to count on something else, when the highest rating of all rivals was with the Croatian national team - as much as 18th in the world. And the national teams of Austria and Georgia in general could not be perceived as rivals - two-sided in training is more useful than beating these teams.

Frolova: an invitation to the national team is a gift of fate

Player Maria Frolova talks about how to become a Decembrist, how to get into the national team at the age of 30, and what is more important - family or sport.

Therefore, there is nothing to publish loud cries of joy. In Osijek, the Russians did what they were obliged to do even with the second or third team. But head coach Vladimir Kuzyutkin, in order not to risk it, attracted almost all the leaders, except for those who refused for family reasons or could not play due to injuries. And those whom the mentor does not want to see in the national team.

The Russian team secured a ticket to the 2018 World Cup, which will be held in Japan, but in order to perform successfully there, the quality of the game must be radically different. Now the main players have begun a long-awaited rest.

Russia - Austria - 3:0 (25:14, 25:13, 25:15)
Russia - Georgia - 3:0 (25:8, 25:6, 25:13)
Russia - Greece - 3:1 (25:10, 24:26, 25:16, 25:23)
Russia - Hungary - 3:0 (25:11, 25:21, 25:7)
Russia - Croatia - 3:1 (25:22, 25:21, 20:25, 25:15).

More questions than answers

But the tournament in Croatia left more questions than answers. There are no complaints, perhaps, only to the central blockers. Of course, you need to take into account the level of the opponents, but our block really played well. And when there were difficult moments, as in the fourth installment with the Greeks, who are 60 positions behind our team in the ranking, it was the block that made a turning point in the game.

Zaryazhko: I spend my honeymoon at the training camp in Novogorsk

Irina Zaryazhko - about the difficulties family life athletes, spent in Kazan season and the struggle for a place in the national team.

Many questions about the quality of the second transfer. A slow combination, when Ekaterina Pankova passes to Natalia Goncharova, even the Austrians managed to read. And what to say when this will be used in games against the national teams of Brazil, China, Serbia? Head coach our team is offended when his work is criticized and says that he is not going to argue with amateurs, but didn’t he really see that Dynamo Moscow lost the main tournaments of the year miserably precisely because of the unsuccessful actions of the bunch?

Incomprehensible experiments with the side-player Irina Voronkova in the diagonal. And was it worth detaching Natalya Malykh and Daria Stolyarova from the team? Here the questions are not for Voronkova, if anything. Where they put it, it plays there. It's just not clear what it was for. The doigrovschitsa Maria Frolova did not act too well. First of all, at the reception. With the national teams of Austria and Georgia, this is not very noticeable, and when a stronger opponent comes across, the team will lose its refinement.

In general, the final result was provided by the leaders, and not by those players who were involved in their insurance. Of the newcomers, perhaps, there are no questions only to the blocking Ekaterina Efimova, who played at her level. The rest, apparently, simply did not have time to understand the demands that the coaching staff. But this is fixable if the team has a little more time to train in this lineup.

What's next?

The main tournament for our team will be held in September, and it will be the European Championship. By that time, it would be nice for Vladimir Kuzyutkin to decide on the players who can, at least for some time during a single match, replace the leaders. In the meantime, it turns out that as soon as the reservists enter the court, the team drops to the level of outsiders with whom they play.

Kuzyutkin: there should be 15 equal players in the national team

About the composition of the team for the qualifying tournament for the 2018 World Cup, about the gold mine of women's volleyball and leech agents - in an interview with Vladimir Kuzyutkin.

Before the European Championship, the Russian team will play in the Yeltsin Cup from June 26 to 30 and in the Grand Prix from July 7 to August 6. At these tournaments, although they are high-profile, but still commercial, it is possible to give the opportunity to play to all potential candidates. Including those who "did not live up to expectations" and at the same time pulled their club all season.

In general, it is too early to give absolutely critical assessments after the qualifying tournament to our team - most of them played immediately after the end of the club season, without rest. But after the Grand Prix, it will become clear whether the promised renewal of the team will take place and whether 15 full-fledged players will be recruited or the same ones will still pull everything on themselves.

Russia at the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Cup

The domestic team will start the fight for medals in group C. The opponents of the Russians will be Americans, Koreans, Azerbaijanis, Thais and volleyball players from Trinidad and Tobago. The sextet is fairly even. Obviously, the struggle for the first line will unfold between Russian, American and Korean volleyball players.

The Women’s Volleyball World Championship 2018 game calendar for our girls is as follows:

  • 09/29/2018: Russia - Trinidad and Tobago;
  • 09/30/2018: Russia - Thailand;
  • 02/10/2018: Russia - Azerbaijan;
  • 03/10/2018: Russia - South Korea;
  • 04/10/2018: USA - Russia.

Tournament Regulations

Format Women's Championship world of 2019 will remain unchanged. All 23 teams that have successfully qualified, plus the team of France as the host country of the championship, will be divided into six subgroups. This is the second tournament to be held with 24 national representatives. Until 2015, the format of the tournament meant the participation of only 16 teams, and the playoff stage began with the 1/4 finals.

At the group stage, each team will play with opponents from the table in one match. For a victory, 3 points are awarded, for a draw, the participants of the meeting receive 1 point each, a defeat does not bring points to the piggy bank. The two best teams from the subgroups advance to the knockout round for the 1/8 finals. The distribution is carried out according to the “cross-wise” principle: the first team of subgroup “A” will play with the second from subgroup “B”, the second - with the first, etc.

If in the playoff series the main time of the match did not reveal the winner, two halves of 15 minutes are assigned. Often, extra time does not reveal the winner, and then a penalty shoot-out is held. The final match of the Women's World Cup 2019 is scheduled for June 30, and it will be held at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris.

Prospects for the Russian team

Women's football in Russia is not developing as progressively as many domestic fans would like. For this reason, the chances national team in the selection for the World Championship of the year in question are very vague. Subgroup "A" contains teams that are higher in the FIFA rankings and have a more skillful set of players. We are talking, first of all, about the girls of England and Wales, although the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also not a gift.

The best achievement of the Russian women's team dates back to 2003. Then, at the World Championships, the wards of Yuri Bystritsky reached the quarterfinals. After that, the domestic team did not make it to the final part of the Mundial. Since 2015, the team has been headed by Elena Fomina, however, under the leadership of this specialist, Russian girls do not grab stars from the sky.

The current selection for the Championship also started unsuccessfully. In two matches, only 1 point was obtained in the home confrontation with Wales. Starter game away with England, the Russians failed, losing with a final score of 6:0. Obviously, the key matches in the group are still ahead, but even now we can say that the team does not have a well-coordinated game. There are complaints both in defense (the most goals conceded in the group) and in attack (0 goals scored). Elena Fomina urgently needs to change something, otherwise Russia will once again fly past the final part of the Mundial.

The qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Cup in France is already in full swing. The women's teams are fighting to get out of the qualification, demonstrating interesting football and the will to win. Don't miss team matches and Russian girls in particular, because they will surely bring you a lot of emotions.
