Fight with Moruti Mthalane

In November 2008, Donaire fought South African Moruti Mthalane. The fight was even. In the middle of the 6th round, Donaire pointed the referee to the right eyebrow of the opponent. Second bantamweight

Fight with Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.

Donaire fought his first fight in a new category with former champion peace by Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. on February 4, 2012. Unification fight with Guillermo Rigondeaux

On April 13, 2013, Nonito Donaire faced undefeated Cuban boxer Guillermo Rigondeaux. Donaire spent on professional ring almost three times as many fights and was considered the favorite. Despite the predictions, Rigondeaux was faster and more accurate than the Filipino. Early in the first round, Rigondeaux staggered Donaire with a left hook. The first rounds were controlled by Rigondeaux. Donaire went forward, but thanks to excellent footwork and skillful defense, the Cuban easily eluded the attacks of the Filipino. The middle of the battle passed at a less active pace, but Rigondeaux's advantage was not in doubt. Donaire looked pinched and unprepared for this pattern of combat. Trying to catch Rigondeaux with one blow, he stumbled upon the Cuban's series over and over again. In the tenth round, upon exiting the clinch, Donaire knocked down Rigondeaux with a left hook. The Cuban immediately got up. Donaire went ahead, but he could not hit Rigondeaux. In the 11th round, Donaire was more active than the previous ones, but he failed to shake the Cuban. By the last round, Donaire developed a hematoma under his right eye. Last round Rigondeaux won quite easily. Following the results of 12 rounds, the judges gave the victory to Guillermo Rigondeaux by unanimous decision.

Fight with Cesar Juarez

On December 11, 2015, in a fight for the vacant WBO world title, he defeated the Mexican Cesar Juarez by unanimous decision and won the title that he previously owned.

Feather-weight

After losing to Rigondeaux, Donaire moved up to the featherweight division, and in November 2013 he gave revenge to his first known opponent, Vic Darchinyan.
