This type of gait is justified for people who carry heavy loads, mainly on their heads: it is typical for loaders and waiters, women carrying buckets on a yoke, etc. In a flying gait, there should be no tossing of the body up; if, out of a desire to make it even lighter, a person tries to simultaneously separate both legs from the ground, then instead of walking, running will turn out.

The second type of gait is walking with the whole foot on the ground at once, the so-called "military gait".

The third type of gait is the gait, which received the name "Greek" from K. S. Stanislavsky. When performing a step of this gait at the moment of bringing the legs forward, you need to slightly loosen ankle joint, due to which the foot hangs down with toes, and the outer edge hangs more than the inner one (the left foot has the left side, the right foot has the right side). If at the same time the heels are placed in a straight line, and the toes are directed somewhat to the sides, then the first contact of the foot with the ground will occur with the little toe, and then the foot will completely rest on the ground. Further stepping is performed in the same way as in a household gait.

You should not deliberately stretch your knees and feet, because this will result in a manner of ballet gait, which is completely unacceptable in a dramatic or operatic performance. Only the weakening of the muscles supporting the ankle joint gives the correct movement. With this manner, those sitting in the stalls do not see the soles of the actors' shoes. This form of gait is more aesthetic than everyday. This is how actors who play young “secular” roles in plays of the late 17th, 18th and 19th centuries can walk. Instead of the name "Greek" it should be called the "stylish gait of the 18th century", especially since the ancient Greeks walked with the usual everyday gait that modern people walk. An actor on the stage should always use an everyday gait, and use military and stylistic gait only in a special plastic character.

The knee of the upper leg is bent until the descending leg touches the toe of the lower step; only then the weight of the body calmly transfers to this leg. The foot should touch the step with the little finger, as in a stylized gait. The descent from the stairs must be able to perform at different paces. The descents are especially dangerous for actresses in long skirts and high-heeled shoes.

Regardless of the direction, speed, amplitude of movement on the stage should always be silent. Imagine a "marble" staircase that, under the feet of the actors, makes sounds characteristic of plywood or thin boards, that is, sounds that are completely inconsistent with the logic of the action.
