The top includes pedometer bracelets for iPhone and smart watches with sports functions.

The main goal of fitness trackers is to eliminate the need to take a smartphone with you to the gym or for a run. Despite all sorts of pockets and holders, a smartphone is a superfluous thing during training. When choosing a top, we assume that during training you only have a smart watch or tracker with you that you can synchronize with your iPhone.

The parameters by which we built this top are as follows:

  • Compatible with latest versions software. Some trackers are configured exclusively to interact with Android; with other software they have limited functionality. This is a significant point, because the tracker’s own screen is small and the internal memory is limited. Interaction with a smartphone is not necessary, but highly desirable - you can view detailed statistics, track tracks, and get advice personal trainer and nutritionist, view detailed health indicators. The top does not include bracelets that are not adapted to iPhone software.
  • It is very important that a fitness bracelet compatible with iPhone has a built-in heart rate monitor and moisture protection. The heart rate monitor helps to obtain information about the health of the cardiovascular system; recommendations for training are based on the heart rate monitor readings. Heart rate monitor readings during sleep help assess general condition body.
  • The need for protection from moisture is obvious. From the gym we go to the shower or to the pool. Having to take off your smartwatch every time will cause it to get lost or damaged.
  • The presence of a GPS module is desirable, but not critical. Energy consumption for satellite communications is significant, which reduces battery life. To generate complete statistics, it is advisable that the fitness tracker for iPhone is not removed from your hand for at least several days.

For the reasons listed above, the wonderful Samsung Charm model, which does not have moisture protection, the super stylish, but without a heart rate monitor Moov Now, Withings Go and the stunningly designed ASUS ZenWatch 3 model did not make it to the top. In the latter case, the small battery capacity of the device was also a minus. ASUS ZenWatch 3 will have to be charged every day, while the best trackers can go up to 20 days without recharging.

Modern portable electronic gadgets that functionally interact with a smartphone have long been a fashionable and even necessary acquisition. If previously Bluetooth headsets were very popular, now the demand for them has decreased significantly. And today they have been replaced by “smart” bracelets for iPhone.

History of origin

Since the second half of the last century, a comprehensive study of the indicators of the human body has become available to residents of Western countries. However, at that time, for research it was necessary to connect more than a dozen different wired devices to the human body. Since the beginning of the 2000s. the ability to measure heart rate, calories burned and distances traveled has become an absolutely accessible feature of modern home sports equipment. The appearance of a portable gadget-controller was not yet known.

And only since the end of 2011 can we see the appearance of the first “smart” fitness bracelets for the iPhone. It was during this period of time that Jawbone confidently introduced its own “smart” fitness product. At that time, there was no complete confidence in the rapid consumer demand. Back then, no one could have predicted that the presentation of a fashionable device could cause a complete revolution in the modern fashion industry in the production of accessories for comfortable active activities. in a healthy way life.

Let's move on to consider the most popular models of smart fitness bracelets for iPhone, analyze their functional components, and highlight the advantages and obvious disadvantages of these modern fashionable gadgets.

Functions and characteristics of sports models

Currently, one can observe the particular popularity of a healthy pace of life. An important role of its relevance is guaranteed by modern gadgets. Of course, they are not urgent items, but they add comfort to their user. Fitness bracelets are the absolute sports know-how of the modern world.

Such accessories are conveniently fixed on a person’s wrist in the pulse area and provide precise control of the heartbeat. A person has the opportunity to independently choose the level of load, change the intensity of training, thanks to clear and understandable information on the instrument display. This advantage significantly increases the effectiveness of training and reduces unnecessary stress on the human body.

This is far from the only function that these smart devices perfectly demonstrate. Manufacturers of women's fitness bracelets offer a wide range of different models, the systems of which differ in their functionality. Thus, they all have their own characteristics and advantages, as well as differences that form their individuality and uniqueness. Let's make some comparisons of fitness bracelets, indicating their main features and purposes. This will help you fully evaluate modern devices and make the right choice.

Accessories with built-in alarm clock and heart rate monitor function

These devices not only help control your heartbeat, but also do a great job with waking up in the morning. Of course, the alarm clock is a very controversial and ambiguous function. Many owners simply hate it for its persistent morning reminders and the need to leave the comfort of their beds for routine tasks. On the other hand, this is an absolutely necessary component. An additional advantage is that the design of the fitness bracelet is not equipped with a standard alarm clock, but with a “smart” one.

Many will be surprised, considering this a significant exaggeration. We have all long been accustomed to the unpleasant sound that awakens us every day at a clearly defined time period. These same devices operate according to a different scheme. During sleep, the alarm clock fully monitors your body position and records your sleep phases.

After studying the state of the body and assessing how well you rested, the device independently determines the right moment when it needs to work. In addition, what you hear is not an intrusive sound, but a vibration of a soft and relaxed style.

In cases where you need to get up at a clearly defined period of time, you still shouldn’t rely entirely on this alarm clock, however, the functional component of the device itself, of course, deserves special attention.

"Smart" models for pressure control

Control blood pressure in humans - this is another functional advantage of fitness bracelets, in addition to equipping them with a heart rate monitor function. Of course, the indicators of this mechanism are not a full-fledged analogue of a medical device. The pressure control function does not exclude errors in measurements, however, providing a “smart” device with control capabilities was not the goal of creating a medical device.

It is still not worth declaring the absolute uselessness of such a function, since it is used to determine the minimum and maximum blood pressure values. Blood pressure control is a very important component during long-term training and exhausting physical activity. Modern fitness devices are equipped with the ability to record other indicators related to the medical field.

For example, fitness bracelets calculate the ratio of fat tissue levels human body in percentage terms, read the sugar level, as well as respiratory rate, etc. The exceptional accuracy of these readings is quite approximate, so it should not frighten or mislead you.

Sports accessory with pedometer function

Majority modern models Fitness bracelets are distinguished by the option of counting steps taken. This function allows you to develop personal systems and training plans, individual regimes for weight loss. The number of steps you take while walking and the result of calories burned are recorded by the sensors of this “smart” device.

Any person can easily set the norm for the day that he wants to achieve. And as soon as this norm is reached, your bracelet will notify you of a joyful result with a special signal. The device will not allow lazy people to forget about themselves and will quickly remind you of failure to complete exercises using vibration. Thus, the bracelet will hint that it will not be possible to shirk physical tasks.

iPhone Sync Feature

Absolutely all models of fitness bracelets work with both smartphones and computers. Currently, the iPhone is no longer a sign of luxury, but is a completely standard gadget that people of any age have. This device can be found both on a teenager studying at school and on a wealthy businessman in the oil industry.

The battery of the model performs its functions perfectly and requires a single charge for 7 days.

Teslawatch T-Band

The first thing worth noting is the lack of a screen; all functional components are based on the operation of smartphones operating on the Android and iOS platforms. The “smart” device is also protected from moisture, counts calories, physical activity, user's sleep time.

The disadvantages include:

  1. rubbing of the silicone strap (after a month of active use) and, accordingly, loss of presentable and beautiful appearance;
  2. complaints were recorded about the device software and the lack of necessary customer support.

Apple Watch 42 mm

Apple Watch 42 mm, block wristband. The device offers its users the necessary information and carries out daily tasks at a fast pace. The accessory is endowed with the ability to instantly communicate with loved ones. The delicacy of touch, which sets this model apart from others, is a completely new version of notifications - physical. At the same time, you can easily turn on a quiet audio signal, which will additionally pleasantly notify you of the planned action.

To read messages, emails, the user just needs to raise his wrist. For instant responses, you can easily dictate a message, select a short answer, or use the built-in microphone.

This device fits perfectly on the wrist and guarantees safety and comfort when brisk walking and training. The battery allows you to actively and safely use the device all day long. An overnight charge is sufficient for full daytime use.

Operating principle

The fitness accessory contains certain sensors that accurately record the required indicators. sports works person. After this condition is met, via the Bluetooth function they send this information to a special mobile application, which is installed on iPhone devices.

Of course this application you need to download it in advance and fix it correctly in order to comfortably use all the functions later sports bracelet. As soon as the application is installed, you need to make the required settings for all the necessary indicators on it, and record the main goals that must be achieved in a day.

The time indicator image, as well as all other information about the current process, will be located on the display of the fitness device.

Absolutely all statistical data about results and achievements for the day will be displayed on your mobile device. Among these indicators: daily exercise, distance traveled per day, the number of calories burned, as well as the amount of time spent sleeping and its quality.

Thus, we can say with confidence that a fitness bracelet is the same fitness trainer that analyzes your achievement indicators and determines an effective training program that will help keep your body healthy and fit.

Constantly motivating and supporting you on the way to achieving the desired result is an additional similarity to a real coach. Of course, the coach gym does this as convincingly as possible, however, warnings and daily reminders from a fashionable fitness accessory also perfectly motivate a fast pace, accelerated movements, carrying out planned actions, etc.

Companies producing smart gadgets are well aware that the majority of people use two operating systems on their mobile devices - iOS and Android. With this a large number With the fitness bands people are currently facing in the market, it is difficult to know which one is actually better. It's not just the hardware that needs to be considered, but the software too - you could have the best fitness tracker in the world, but without a great platform, it's worthless. By the way, best fitness trackers 2016 collected for you.

What's even more difficult to understand is which groups are compatible with . The healthcare app, which was launched as part of Health Promotion 8 in September 2014, is proving to be truly useful and meaningful for many. Fitbit has long said that it would never bring native support for the health app, meaning all Fitbit users are forced to use nothing else (or not, as the case may be - read on to find out more).

Here is a list of some of the best fitness groups that sync with Apple's Health app.

The best fitness bands: for iPhone

Price: iPhone 5s starts from £379
Get an iPhone from Apple

The first proposal is actually not a fitness band, but your iPhone itself. Apple is actively promoting its “health” program, and with good reason, given its merits.

For example, if you're interested in sleep tracking, a large app available for iOS can help you track your sleep cycle. By leaving your iPhone on your bed with the monitor facing down, the app will track different stages of sleep and display the data in apps.

If you have an iPhone 5s or a newer version, there is a motion coprocessor built into the device. This is how you can use your phone to track your activities.

It makes it possible to efficiently process data from sensors installed on your device. The recorded data includes steps, jumps and running distance - unfortunately, it may not be as accurate as you would like. Fitness bracelets will be able to show you more reliable information.

iPhone models that include a motion coprocessor are iPhone 5s, 6, 6 plus, 6S and 6S plus.

The best fitness bracelets: progress in the field

Unlike many other fitness bands that focus on functionality rather than style, this smartwatch looks like a classic watch. Designed in Paris, the activite is a simple and stunning smartwatch, available in black and white with a rather steep £320 price tag. It's not really classified as a smartwatch, despite the analog dial and smart features. This model concentrates on tracking fitness programs quite problematically, in addition to notifications, music control and the like.

It helps to take into account the number of calories burned, as well as the distance and amount of time you were active. The device detects what you're doing, whether you're walking or running, and it can even automatically track your sleep if it's in bed with you.

Sleep analysis gives you detailed information for the time it takes to fall asleep, and also shows duration, sleep cycles and breaks.

All of this information is synced to your phone with data found in the Withings Health app, which syncs with Apple's Health app.

Interestingly, such an expensive fitness tracker does not include two popular sensors that come standard with cheaper trackers, namely: and Barometer (for measuring height).

Best fitness bands: fitbit charge HR

With Solver Sync, the Fitbit Charge HR app is a more advanced version of the original Fitbit Charge that was released in November 2014. Unlike many fitness bands in this price range, the Charge HR has a small screen that displays fitness stats and other information like caller ID.

Charge HR has an accelerometer that uses movement patterns to calculate steps taken, distance traveled, active minutes and calories burned. It also has an altimeter that measures floors raised, with every 10 feet of height counting as one flight of stairs. It also measures the duration and quality of your sleep if you choose to carry an HR charge to bed.

The frame here stands for heart rate, which is the LED monitor on the bottom of the main unit. It cleverly automatically tracks your rate throughout the day, helping you build a consistent picture of your ticker's health. With this additional function added from the previous model, this means the battery lasts about 5 days.

The only way to get the HR charge to sync with Apple's health app is by using the Sync Solver. It manages to move data received from the group between native apps like Fitbit and Automatic Health.

The best fitness bracelets: fitbit for Alta

RRP £99.99
Get it from fitbit

Fitbit for Alta is one of its newest and most advanced trackers, and it works harmoniously with iOS.

It has most of the features you'd expect from a fitness band at this price, with the exception of the heart rate monitor, which is sacrificed to cut down on size. This is only from splashes, but it will survive a downpour, but the advantages of the tracker are not day-to-day - it is a group, in a sock and allows it to fade into the background.

Automatic start detection, phone notifications plus a convenient exercise reminder if you sit too long makes Alta spot, a subtle choice for everyday tracking enthusiasts.

The best fitness bracelets: Huawei TalkBand B2

RRP £130
Get it from Amazon

A significant design upgrade from the original TalkBand B1, this bracelet from Huawei is quite unique on the market. As a group, it displays key point and fitness information, but this section of the physical screen is removable and can be used as a Bluetooth headset to receive calls from your phone via Bluetooth. It will track your steps, distance and estimated calories burned just like all the other bands on the show here, as well as sleep monitoring.

The addition of Bluetooth functionality makes it stand out, although it seems to us either a product you really want, or will think it's a complete nutcase. If the former, then you've definitely found your ideal range, and the voice quality through the headset, and the touch and swipe screen functionality works well.

It syncs nicely and easily with Apple's Health app, so for all your hands-free group activities you need, look no further.

Best Fitness Bands: misfit

RRP £50
Get it from Amazon
Get it from PC World

Sitting on the more affordable end of the spectrum is misfit flash. The simple round face is a physical button that is used for commands, and 12 LEDs sit face at the points of the clock to display the time and different states. Unfortunately, we didn't find it popping out regularly from the fairly light plastic strap, so be careful.

For the £50 RRP, you get basic tracking for walking, jogging, jogging and more cycling, basketball, football and swimming - don't worry, it's completely waterproof - although for accuracy it doesn't beat the competition given its basic functionality. You'll sync all your data through Misfit's own app, which syncs seamlessly with Apple's health app—though, like the band itself, it's all pretty simple to display without much detail.

It's powered by a coin-operated battery rather than rechargeable batteries, meaning you'll probably get a good half a year out of a single battery.

Best fitness bands: shoe misfit 2

RRP £79.99
Get it from Amazon
Get it from John Lewis

A sequel to the original shoe, the misfit shoe 2 pack has a few more features than its flash cousin. It has a capacitive touch function rather than acting as its own physical buttons, and also features a vibration function for alarms and incoming messages or fitness goals achieved. It's water resistant to 50 meters, so you can pretty much leave it on the whole time, which is the whole point of a fitness band in the first place.

And also sporty style The band it comes with, the glitter can be worn with the included strap clasp if you prefer to wear it as you would a traditional pedometer. It can also be attached to your lanyard for activities like cycling, although that would make it a little difficult to take on a daily basis with basic music control functions – not bad for a device that doesn't have any buttons or a traditional readable display.

Best fitness bands: jawbone

RRP £39.99

The jawbone up move is one of the cheapest fitness bracelets from the group here. Despite the fact that it looks like you'll come out of a New Year's cracker with some "interesting" colors and patterns, combinations, upward movement - this is a smart gadget. Similar to misfit flash, the pre-move uses 12 LEDs instead of an LCD or OLED display. Simply double-tap your face to activate the clock, which uses an LED that blinks to show the hour, then a second one that lights up to show the five-minute period in which exact time lies.

The included jaw app gives excellent stats and can, as always, sync with Apple's health app, providing it with step and sleep data.

There are a few small things, such as when using the stopwatch to record your workout, you have to go into the jaw app to manually tag the activity - some ranges can be determined automatically. However, given that the price is moving up £39.99, it represents great value for the money. Just be aware that it comes with a clip, so if you want to wear it like a watch, you'll have to buy a separate strap, which costs £11.

Best fitness-bracelets

Newest series From jawbone fitness groups, the UP3 improves with the up2 bracelet, recording your heart rate and sleep quality in more detail. The strap is one size fits most cases, an improvement on the design from previous versions after complaints they opened too easily and often.

Like many of the bands in this review, it has a display, but instead relies on small LED lights to let you know what's going on, and responds to certain commands by pressing its face. It's good to see that this is the first jaw to upgrade via Bluetooth instead of a cable, but you still need to make sure you don't lose the charging cable for when you're low on juice.

It's a good round fitness band and allows Apple's Health apps to track steps and sleep, but it sits at the high end of the price scale - spend more and you're in smartwatch territory.

The best fitness bracelets: how xiaomi mi

How Xiaomi has conquered the Asian market, but it's still relatively unknown on these shores. However, the mi Group 1C Pulse comes highly recommended and is obscenely expensive for what it delivers. The device itself is simple, with three white LEDs to indicate fitness goals and alarms that can be silenced by placing your finger over the lights. It works seamlessly through Xiaomi's own Mi Fit app, which records your sleep with alarming accuracy, and when considering it costs around £20. You can also sync certain wizardry into Apple's Health app, along with steps, but there's no other data - you'll have to stick with the Mi Fit app's estimates, calories burned and distance traveled.
