In order for an athlete to compete at international competitions, he first needs to get into the main team and for this there is a selection system within the country. The final decision on enrollment in the national biathlon team is made by coaching staff The Russian national team uses the results of all races, both within the country and at international competitions, to compile a rating based on the results of each tournament.

Biathlon as a means of maintaining human health.

We live in an age when most people sit at work for six or even eight hours. This lifestyle may bring money, but it is very detrimental to human health, because over time you will begin to have problems with your back and joints throughout your body, not to mention the fact that your muscles constantly swell and degrade. This problem can only be solved exercise, but the best thing of course would be running or some kind active view sports Why running? It’s all simple, it’s all about its maximum benefits for human health, the main thing is not to try to run a Marathon. About fifteen or twenty minutes maximum is enough to reap the benefits for your body. Firstly, you will give work to all the muscles of the body, some stress under which they will begin to work, and all swelling will go away, while breathing and blood circulation will improve, which is very useful for cardio vascular system, and this is just a one-time activity. If you do this regularly, you can strengthen strength, endurance and many other characteristics of your body.

But not only running brings health benefits; many sports provide more benefits, and certainly more interest. Of course, running is inherent in all of them, because this is the basis of most games, it’s not for nothing that everyone wants to be the fastest. If you don’t know which sport to choose, I would like to recommend biathlon, both summer and winter. They are similar, only in the summer, you just need to run, because you can’t go skiing here. Since you already know about the benefits of running, we won’t repeat it. In addition to all of the above, biathlon training brings more benefits to respiratory system person, due to a certain rhythm of skiing, this applies to the winter view. Since shooting is inherent here, of course you must learn to be calm and accurate. Biathlon is also very useful for nervous system, because in itself it is a calm sport, where everything depends on your skills. So, I wish everyone to try themselves in it.

The Russian biathlon team, presented at Olympic Games in Pyeongchang with a truncated composition, completed its performance at the 2018 Games without high results and with some conflicts that emerged.

Akimova was without contact with coaches

The IOC allowed only four Russian biathletes to the Olympics - Anton Babikov, Matvey Eliseev, Ulyana Kaisheva and Tatyana Akimova, who eventually made their debut at the Games. Leaders did not compete in Pyeongchang Russian team Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht and Anton Shipulin. Although his sister Anastasia Kuzmina, representing Slovakia at the Games, performed very well for the latter. She has already won a gold and two silvers. And the biathlete remembered Shipulin at every opportunity, dedicating her second silver to him.

“I talked a lot about my brother before the race, and yes, it’s true, this second medal of mine is my brother’s medal,” said the Slovakian after winning silver in the pursuit. But even after the gold in the mass start, Kuzmina returned to the situation with Shipulin’s exclusion: “Internally, I was very worried about Anton, about this whole situation around Russian athletes. I felt devastated and was very afraid that this would affect my results.”

IN personal races highest achievement Akimova's 15th place in the individual race was the Russians. The Russian also finished 20th in the sprint, took 31st place in the pursuit and the last 30th place in the mass start. Moreover, Akimova was the only one of the four Russians who took part in the race from the general start. Tatyana’s best result this season was seventh place in the pursuit at the World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria.

It was Akimova who, after the individual race, made a loud statement that Russian coaches There is absolutely no contact with her. “In psychological terms, in principle, the coach and I had no contact, and for me there is no such trust. This is very difficult for me. We are preparing, but there are no explanations about the nuances of the training process. I think that the situation has developed that most athletes want to train with those with whom... In general, it’s difficult when there is no contact or dialogue with the coach,” Akimova returned to this topic again after the mass start.

Only two Russian specialists were admitted to the Olympics in Pyeongchang - Ricco Gross and Nikolai Zagursky. The senior coach of the Russian women's national team, Sergei Konovalov, noted that he and Akimova had a difficult relationship and the contact was not what they would like to have. “The situation with Akimova looks strange to me. It’s difficult to talk about this from a human point of view,” said Stanislav Pozdnyakov, head of the delegation of Olympic athletes from Russia (OAR) at the Olympics.

The second Russian woman, Kaisheva, performed well compared to her performance this season, becoming 33rd in the sprint, 52nd in the pursuit and 24th in the individual. This season, the Russian woman took part in only two starts at the World Cup: in the sprint in Antholz, Italy (75th) and in the individual race in Ruhpolding, Germany (89th). Otherwise, Kaisheva competed in the IBU Cup.

“The thing that sticks is that we couldn’t prepare properly”

In men best result Babikov showed in Pyeongchang, finishing 16th in the individual event. The biathlete also placed 57th in the sprint and 40th in the pursuit. Anton’s best result of the season was fifth place in the individual race at the World Cup in Östersund, Sweden.

Eliseev at the Games took 83rd place in the sprint and 28th place in the individual race. The Russian’s highest result of the season was in the sprint at the World Cup in Hochfilzen (17th place). “I’m not in the shape right now to show maximum results, unfortunately. What grabs me more is that at the moment we failed to prepare well enough to fight. This is what catches me, and not the results of the Swedes, for example. I’m happy for them, because they were able to make a lot of progress,” said Eliseev.

Babikov originally contrasted the situation with Russian biathletes and the performance of domestic skiers, who at the Olympics, by decision of the IOC, also perform not in the star lineup. “It’s not even about (Elena) Vyalba,” he said. - You know, there is a game called Jenga, a tower of sticks. Their tower stands so straight that even if the sticks are knocked out somewhere from below or above, they still stand very strong and continue to fight, showing unrealistic results.”

“Several of our sticks were knocked out, and the tower is shaking and is about to collapse. They look like a very healthy and strong team, despite the fact that they were also deprived of leaders. For all of us, they are an example of how to persevere despite any adversity,” he continued.

“I watched the video of Vyalbe being filmed during the race. I don't know how it would affect me. I think that this is not the case with them, so that this will happen at the Olympics. This team is forged throughout the season. This is a very subtle process that takes years to develop. And not so that everything becomes bad, and everyone becomes friendly. We have a lot to learn from them, I think,” says Babikov.

“It’s not so important to talk about results, this is not our real team”

Each of the athletes has repeatedly spoken out about the lack of team leaders in Korea. “We are alone in the fact that there are few athletes. This is so unusual that it’s hard to find words. There was some kind of devastation, they just took us and cut us off,” said Eliseev.

Gross spoke tellingly about the results of the Russians’ performance after four races: “I think it’s not so important to talk about the results, because this is not our real team. Anton and Matvey are here, but we are missing other excellent biathletes. It is not so easy for eligible athletes to compete here; this is their first Olympics. There's a lot of pressure on them."

In their final race on Tuesday, the Russians finished ninth in mixed relay. The biathlon program at the Olympic Games will be completed by two relay races, for which the Russian team does not physically have enough people to participate.

After the race, Gross noted that with this composition Russian biathletes there was practically no opportunity to perform better at the Olympics.

“Everyone knows we lost a lot of guys. It is not very possible for us to show a better result at the moment. Everyone tried to enter their strongest athletes in this race, but we simply don’t have these strongest. This is a difficult situation, not only for those who did not go to the Games, but also for those who competed here,” Gross told a RIA Novosti correspondent.

“If you were athletes, you would understand perfectly well what it’s like to try to fight for results when there is no one around you strong team. It was very difficult for our young athletes, it turned out to be a very heavy burden for them,” the coach added.

MEN: GROSS AND KRYUCHKOV STAYED TO THEIR OWN

In the men's team, at least, there were no questions regarding the composition of the coaching staff initially. German specialist Ricco Gross predictably will work with us at least until the end of the contract. Changing him midway would be, firstly, strange from the point of view of team preparation, and secondly, very expensive under the terms of the agreement.

Gross will help Andrey Padin- a specialist who previously trained a very solid reserve team led by Anton Babikov. Padin was offered to join the main team a year ago, but then the specialist chose not to abandon his students and work in parallel with Gross. Now the leadership of the SBR has set a course for uniting the groups, and Padin, in fact, has no other options left. Moreover, of the six athletes in Gross’ group, three have direct relation to Padin - Babikov, Matvey Eliseev And Yuri Shopin.

Anton Shipulin along with Alexey Volkov will continue to prepare under the guidance of their coach Andrey Kryuchkov. And this seems to be the only exception in terms of individual training that will be made in the national team. All others will train in a single group according to the plans of the senior coaches.

Of the notable people in Russian biathlon, was not on the team Olympic champion Dmitry Malyshko. However, RBU President Alexander Kravtsov promised to send Malyshko for self-training during the season, and he kept his word. Didn't make it to the top eight Alexey Slepov, although he won at the recent Russian Championship and seemed to have proven his right to be on the team.

WOMEN: WITHOUT COACH, SLEPTSOVA AND SHUMILOVA

The head coach of the women's team has not yet been appointed. According to the RBU statement, to approve the mentor, “it is necessary to hold another working meeting, after which a decision will be announced.” Obviously, the main candidate for this position is Vitaly Noritsyn. It was with him that most of the athletes who were included in the main team trained, and in fact Noritsyn acted as a senior coach at the World Cup stages.

Valery Medvedtsev, who worked in parallel with Noritsyn with another group of athletes, according to SE, is not eager to continue this activity. At the same time, the members of the SBR board are obviously embarrassed by Noritsyn’s youth and inexperience, as well as the not-so-confident results of the team under his leadership. Apparently, here the preferable option would be to strengthen the coaching staff, but whether Medvedtsev and Noritsyn will get along, like Gross and Padin for men, is a big question.

Regarding the composition of the women's team, the greatest surprise is the absence of young Ulyana Kaisheva. Last year she competed at the World Cup and only missed out on the World Championships at the last moment. Of course, Ulyana’s results among the world elite have not yet caused admiration, but for example, her peer Victoria Slivko showed itself not much brighter during the season.

In accordance with the course taken for rejuvenation, the Olympic champion did not make it to the team Svetlana Sleptsova together with the winner of the 2014 Games Ekaterina Shumilova. However, experienced athletes will probably prepare for the season on their own, under the guidance of personal trainers, and will try to get to the Games in Pyeongchang through the Izhevsk Rifle. And there, it is possible that some of them will be able to jump on a plane flying to South Korea at the last moment.

You are in the section of the site " Russian national team", where the composition of the women's and men's national teams of Russia for the stages of the Biathlon World Cup, the World Championship, the IBU Cup, the European Championship, the Olympics, the Universiade, the Junior World Championships (JWC) and all the most important events of the current biathlon season 2018 are published in a timely manner. 2019.

There are many innovations this season. During pre-season training, the men's team was divided into 2 groups and prepared for the World Cup season with the following composition:

  1. A group led by head coach Anatoly Khovantsev (Artem Istomin works with him) in which 7 biathletes were trained: Alexander Loginov ( Tyumen region), Anton Babikov (Republic of Bashkortostan), Maxim Tsvetkov (Moscow-Vologda region), Evgeny Garanichev (Tyumen region), Dmitry Malyshko (St. Petersburg), Pyotr Pashchenko (KhMAO-Yugra) and Semyon Suchilov (KhMAO-Yugra)
  2. The group of Sergei Belozerov and Sergei Idinov (reserve team), dominated by promising youth: Nikita Porshnev (KhMAO-Yugra), Eduard Latypov (Republic of Bashkortostan), Ivan Tomilov (KhMAO-Yugra), Matvey Eliseev (Moscow), Alexander Povarnitsyn (Udmurt Republic ), Evgeny Idinov (Tyumen region), Igor Malinovsky (Omsk region) and Vasily Tomshin (St. Petersburg).
  3. Also, centralized training in these groups was provided by Alexey Volkov (KhMAO-Yugra), Alexey Slepov (St. Petersburg) and Kirill Streltsov (Moscow) at the expense of the regions.
  4. Olympic champion Anton Shipulin did not immediately decide to continue his sports career, so I partially rested and later prepared for the season on my own.
In the women's national team, Russians are also preparing for the new World Cup in two teams, the main and reserve:
  1. The main team was coached by Vitaly Noritsyn, assisted by Nikolai Zagursky. Team composition: Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht (St. Petersburg), Ulyana Kaisheva (Udmurt Republic), Victoria Slivko (Tyumen region), Daria Virolainen (KhMAO-Yugra), Kristina Reztsova (KhMAO-Yugra), Anastasia Egorova (Murmansk region), Svetlana Mironova (Sverdlovsk region).
  2. Coaches Andrei Padin and Sergei Konovalov worked with the reserve. Their team included: Larisa Kuklina (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), Evgenia Pavlova (Novosibirsk region), Tamara Voronina (Sverdlovsk region), Anastasia Morozova (KhMAO-Yugra), Valeria Vasnetsova ( Perm region), Ekaterina Zubova (Arkhangelsk region), Natalya Ushkina (Republic of Mordovia), Alexandra Alekeshnikova (Novosibirsk region), Margarita Vasilyeva (Krasnoyarsk region).
To take part in international competitions, the athlete needs to get into the main team. To make the selection fair, there is a system of selection for the Russian national team. To get into the national team, athletes must fulfill the selection criteria established by the Russian Biathlon Union. Based on the results of all races (all-Russian and international starts) in the season, the Russian Biathlon Union (RBR) compiles a rating of the country's biathletes. The best according to this rating get into the Russian national team. Additionally, before the most important international competitions, they conduct qualifying competitions, for example, the “Izhevsk Rifle” or the Russian Championship, where the best and most worthy candidates for the national team are determined. The final decision on the composition of the national and reserve teams is made by the coaching staff of the Russian national team. Included national team countries most often include 6-8 biathletes and biathletes (Russian national biathlon team).

By clicking on the link “Reserve Team (B)” you will find out which biathletes qualified for the women’s and men’s reserve teams. The Russian reserve team most often includes a composition of 7 men and 7 women. All reserve team biathletes have a chance to get into the main Russian team and compete at the very high level and even at the next Olympic Games.
