Now our route in this direction has been extended to UPI - to Timiryazev Street,” the chief judge of the marathon, Eric Khasanov, told E1.RU. – In the western direction, last year our route went through a backup of the Moscow highway with a departure to the Staro-Moskovsky highway. This time we are running along the federal road - the Moscow Highway, but along one lane - the northern one.

Participants in the Europe – Asia race are offered a choice of four distances: 3 km, 10 km, 21 km and 42 km.

Next, we go right onto 8 March Street and run to the Yeltsin Center. Then back to Lenin to Sacco and Vanzetti - turn around and back to the finish line at Piazza 1905.

Route 21 km. Half marathon class="_">

Start at 09:00 from 1905 Square. The first half of the distance repeats the route for 10 kilometers. Only when driving along Lenin Avenue towards the Eternal Flame do you go right onto Sheinkman. Further through Pesterevsky Lane and Verkh-Isetsky Boulevard to Melnikova - Repina - Metallurgov. In the Torforezov – Metallurgov area, turn around and then back along the same route to the finish line at 1905 Square.

Route 42 km. Marathon class="_">

Start at 09:00 from 1905 Square. Completely repeats the half marathon route. • August 7 - 12:00 - start for a distance of 3 km.

Let us remind you that the Europe - Asia marathon took place for the first time in Yekaterinburg last year. In it

About 7,000 people today completed the selected distances at the marathon in Yekaterinburg. The race was supported by Baltika 0, the leader in the non-alcoholic beer segment in Russia.

The international marathon "Europe - Asia" attracts participants not only with a certified route and the status of a stage of the Russian marathon championship, but also with an interesting route with the opportunity to symbolically cross the border between the cardinal points. Participants will traditionally cover distances of 3, 10, 21.1 and 42.2 km.

The event is becoming increasingly popular. If the first and second races in 2015 and 2016 attracted about 3,000 runners, then already at the third race their number increased to five thousand, and today’s race became a record for Yekaterinburg in terms of the number of participants.

The four-time winner of this year's race was Yuri Chechun from Tolyatti, who covered the 42.2 km distance in 02:17:03. The second and third places were taken by Rinat Kashapov from Kazan with a result of 02:22:12 and Damir Saurbaev from Chelyabinsk - 02:24:48.

The organizers tried to make the route brighter and more interesting, and the marathon program of events varied and rich. According to the tradition of the world's leading races, adult finishers of the race were invited to recuperate and refresh themselves with non-alcoholic beer "Baltika 0", which became official partner race. The brand is the leader in its segment with a share of more than 50% and is active in the sports area. This year, Baltika 0 supported the participants of the XXIX international marathon "White Nights", the St. Petersburg and Sestroretsk half marathons in the Northern capital, the "Space Race" in Samara, the Kazan Marathon and the amateur cycling race "Garden Ring" in Moscow.

“It’s great that such a large brand as Baltika 0 supports large-scale running events! This popularizes the values healthy image life and involves athletics All more people who make their choice not in favor of lying on the couch, but in favor of sports and running!” - the Russian athlete shares the brand’s ideas, silver medalist Olympic Games 2004, world and European champion Olesya Krasnomovets (Forsheva).

By the way, four-time winner of the Europe-Asia marathon Yuri Chechun admitted that for him, drinking non-alcoholic beer after the finish is a tradition. “After marathon workouts, I choose drinks that not only quench my thirst, but saturate the body and allow me to quickly restore strength,” the champion noted.

Non-alcoholic beer fully meets the requirements of a healthy lifestyle. Many famous athletes choose it for recovery after active physical activity. A glass of non-alcoholic beer normalizes the water-salt balance, saturates the body with vitamins and minerals, including water-soluble silicon - necessary component to restore connective tissue.

The event featured a Baltika 0 brand zone for all adults, where guests and participants were able to take memorable photos, take part in interesting activities, receive gifts from the brand and refresh themselves with different varieties of Baltika 0 - classic lager and Baltika 0 Unfiltered Wheat."

“The tradition of treating marathon finishers with a glass of beer comes from the West. For the world’s leading races, this has long become the rule. In Russia, we are still writing the first pages of the history of organizing large-scale races. If major marathons in New York or Berlin attracts more than 50 thousand participants, then our main starts - in Moscow and St. Petersburg - so far number 10-15 thousand, and on average two to three thousand runners come to the races. But we have a great future. Along with the popularity of a healthy lifestyle, the culture of marathon movement is growing, and the traditions of world racing are being actively adopted,” notes Grigory Krichmara, executive director of Russia Running Services.

This coming Sunday, August 7, in Yekaterinburg there will be a marathon"Europe-Asia". The large-scale race will change the life of the city for several hours: public transport will take unusual routes, the movement of motorists will be limited, and thousands of residents will take to the start line. “Moments” collected all the information about the marathon: from the route of road closures to the rules of fan behavior.

The start of the event, within which the Russian Marathon Cup will be held, will be given on August 7 at 9 am on the 1905 Square. At this time, the 42.2, 21.1 and 10 kilometer races will begin. And at the very short distance- 3 kilometers - at 12 noon. The race route will pass along the main streets of the city: Lenin Avenue, Repin Street, Metallurgov Street and Novo-Moskovsky Trakt. Food points will be installed every five kilometers. There will also be sponges with water and drinking water.

“Bottles, peels and other rubbish are not a problem: you can safely run and throw them on the ground, they will be collected when everyone finishes. And if someone’s upbringing does not allow them to do this, they can throw it in the trash cans that are located at every food station. The toilets will be there,” he reassures runners marathon director Andrey Utkin.

Five thousand people will take part in “Europe-Asia”. In this regard, the city authorities will block a number of roads: the passage of personal public transport will be prohibited.

“It’s best for fans to stand in the city center: on Lenin Avenue, near the Yeltsin Center, and the Main Post Office. I recommend the following form of activity: the sponsor will issue posters at the start site, where everyone can write their own motto, for example, “Run like you’re late for a plane,” “Beer is around the corner,” and so on,” Utkin suggests.

Runners have already started receiving starter kits: T-shirts and bibs with microchips. They are issued to registered participants on August 5 and 6, from 10.00 to 20.00 at the sports EXPO in the SILA VOLI shopping center (Tolmacheva, 22). Everyone must have it with them medical certificate(issued no later than six months ago), an identity document or a power of attorney from the applicant. You can also receive a certificate upon receipt starter pack. The examination lasts 30 minutes and costs 500 rubles. It is worth noting that each marathon participant is insured for 30,000 rubles.

Over long distances, runners will be accompanied by pacemakers - athletes leading to a specific result at an even pace. Marathon runners can stay behind runners with red balls, aiming for times between 2 hours 59 minutes and 4 hours 29 minutes, while the half marathon has orange balls and times between 1 hour 29 minutes and 1 hour 59 minutes. The maximum elevation gain (about 50 meters) will be around 16 and 31 kilometers of the marathon distance.

At the finish line, race participants will be able to receive a free massage, eat in the field kitchen and take a shower. For everyone there is an entertainment program on the main stage and other activities.

This year, the organizers took into account the wishes of the race participants and made their own medals for each distance. For 42.2 km the medal will be gold-plated, for 21.1 km - silver, for 10 km - bronze, and for 3 km - nickel.
