The final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad. The final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren starts in Russia

Students of grades 7-11 from Moscow schools who have successfully completed the first, school stage, as well as the winners and prize-winners of the municipal stage of last year are invited to the second, municipal stage. Olympiads in 24 subjects are held from October to December.

Competitions in various disciplines are usually held in different days so that schoolchildren can take part in several competitions. The largest Olympic Games will be held on weekends.

This year, the municipal stage in biology and physics for 9th grade students will be held online.

For the first time this year, principals and management teams of capital schools will be able to complete tasks at the municipal stage.

“The Olympiads today are not only a means of identifying gifted children. This is a way for everyone to find the area of knowledge where they are talented. Therefore, it is important that those who work in schools see for themselves what the Olympiad is.

So, on the initiative of one of the directors of Moscow schools, the idea arose to give management teams the opportunity to participate in the double municipal stage All-Russian Olympiad. It was organized by the Center for Pedagogical Excellence together with the Moscow Center for the Development of Human Resources in Education.

The duplicate of the Olympiad takes place on the same day that the children write it, with a slight delay to prevent information leakage. Directors carry out tasks according to the same rules as children,”- said the director of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence Ivan Yashchenko.

The first competitions in French, life safety and social studies have already taken place. Competitions in ecology, biology and literature will be held until the end of October. The municipal stage will end on December 16 with the Informatics Olympiad.

More than 30 thousand students from capital schools took part in the Olympiad in the first three subjects.

For several years now, special conditions for participation in the All-Russian Olympiad have been created for blind, visually impaired schoolchildren and children undergoing long-term treatment.

This year the municipal stage the Olympics will take place in the children's city clinical hospital and in the center named after Dmitry Rogachev, assignments will be translated into Braille, and enlarged versions will be prepared for visually impaired schoolchildren.

The All-Russian School Olympiad is held annually among students in grades 4-11. The competition takes place in four stages: school, municipal, regional and final.

In Moscow, the organizer of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren is the capital's Department of Education. The first three stages are coordinated by the Center for Teaching Excellence. The Center for Pedagogical Excellence has organized online training courses in all subjects specifically for the municipal stage.

You can get acquainted with the tasks of previous years and practice before the competition on the website vos.olimpiada.ru.

We remind you that at the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of the past academic year Moscow schoolchildren won record number diplomas - 906, and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin decided to increase the size of the bonus for winners and runners-up by 50 percent.

Development of tasks

The preparation of tasks for the competition is carried out by subject-methodological commissions, taking into account the stage of the competition:

  • School, municipal tours– local level groups.
  • Regional and All-Russian stage– The Central Commission, which belongs to the Ministry of Education of Russia, is located in Moscow.

Such a distribution of responsibilities has:

  • Plus. Minimum possibility of leakage of competition tasks for use by other regions.
  • Minus. At the first two stages, it puts contestants from different regions of the federation in an unequal position, because The complexity of the proposed tasks may vary.

How to become a member

  • It all starts with a school tour. Educational institutions post information about the Olympiad indicating the place and time of competitions in individual disciplines.
  • The winners of the first two stages have the right to take part in the next rounds for another 2 years. For example, having taken first place at the municipal level, a student can immediately enter the regional competition the following year, bypassing the two previous stages.

Stages of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren

The winners and prize-winners of the first three rounds of the VOSH advance to the next one, while registration for the Olympiad differs in stages:

  • School level. You just need to come at the specified time, taking with you a black gel pen.
  • The following tours (municipal, regional and all-Russian). The organizers issue an invitation to the winners of individual stages of the VOSH to the next level. The student must have a passport and, for those under 14 years of age, a birth certificate.

School

This stage is carried out by the administration of the educational institution. Anyone can try their hand, but the lists of disciplines differ depending on the class where the student is studying. Traditionally, the topics of questions do not go beyond the program.

Completed assignments are checked by subject teachers, who also sum up the results and determine winners. For objectivity, answers are sometimes posted on the school website or sent to the regional Ministry of Education.

Municipal

This level is carried out by the city or district department. Department specialists select the location of the event, control the turnout, check the work and determine the winners. Participants in this tour are students who have successfully performed at school-level competitions in the current and two previous years.

The tasks of this stage are more difficult than those of the initial round and require in-depth knowledge of a specific subject. The test is carried out very carefully; schoolchildren who have completed at least half of the proposed tasks can claim victory.

Regional

The winners at the municipal level in the 2019–2020 academic year and the two previous years advance to this stage. In addition to in-depth knowledge on a specific subject, regional Olympiads in individual disciplines require participants to have general erudition, basic ability to draw logically correct conclusions and critically evaluate the information provided.

The conduct of the tour is complicated by the fact that for each discipline for All-Russian level You only need to choose one participant.

When traveling to the final stage, regional Ministries of Education pay for travel, accommodation, food and provide life insurance for schoolchildren accompanying them.

All-Russian

The competition brings together teenagers who successfully performed at the regional stages in 2019. According to the rules, the winners of previous years cannot take part in the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren. The event is supervised by the Russian Ministry of Education.

Based on the results of the final round:

  • The winners are awarded, including cash prizes.
  • A team is being formed for international competitions in certain areas (computer science, biology, geography, etc.).

Dates for 2019–2020

Four stages of the All-Russian Olympiad are held from September 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020 in the following rounds:

  • School– September–October 2019.
  • Municipal– November–December 2019.
  • Regional– January–February 2020.
  • All-Russian– March–April 2020.

Preparation for VOS

Information from the school curriculum is only enough for the first stage. To participate in the following rounds, you need in-depth knowledge, independent study of the subject using textbooks and online courses. A productive way to prepare is to study assignments from previous years.

Taking into account the chosen discipline, the Olympiad participant will need a variety of skills and abilities:

  • Chemistry– conduct experiments, navigate common reagents, know safety precautions.
  • Physics– explain any processes occurring in the surrounding world, based on basic laws.
  • Mathematics– know the main development trends, areas of application of this science in our time.
  • Story- in addition to a clear idea of dates and main events, have your own opinion about them, arguments to defend your point of view.
  • Social science– independently simulate social situations, according to certain conditions.
  • Foreign language– have a good vocabulary, know colloquial expressions, phraseological units and proverbs.

Where to see the results

Students' work is checked by specially appointed teachers. Taking into account the stage of the competition, they are selected by the school administration and the leadership of the municipal education department. One of the principles of the event is that the results of the VOS should be open and transparent.

This means that any participant can:

  • Review your work on the website of the stage organizer; for example, for the initial round it could be a school Internet resource.
  • File an appeal if you do not agree with the results. This process is not always legally flawless; for example, in some regions, parents are not allowed to participate in the procedure for challenging the results of the Olympiad. Faced with such facts, you need to prepare an appeal directly to the Russian Ministry of Education.
  • Get access to the protocols of the competition jury.

The school stage of the All-Russian Olympiad has already begun. All interested students in grades 5-11 can participate in it. We decided to tell you in more detail about each of the Olympiad levels and the conditions for climbing it, so that you know exactly what to prepare for.

I School stage

The school stage of the All-Russian Olympiad is the first stage that absolutely all interested students from grades 5 to 11 can try to climb, since there is no quota for the number of participants in this case. If desired, the participant even has the right to complete tasks for a higher class than the one in which he is studying. It is possible to participate in Olympiads in all 24 disciplines, since the dates do not overlap.

At this stage, on each of the days established for a particular subject, assignment options become available to schools. Their complexity, as a rule, allows all students who have mastered the school course to successfully cope with them.

II Municipal stage

In the case of the municipal stage, the organizer of the Olympiad is the local government body in the field of education. And here he already sets limits on the number of participants, forms their lists and sets the number of points for each subject and class that needed to be obtained for school stage to go to this one. There is also one more restriction: only those who have completed tasks at least at the 7th grade level can take part in it - the class of actual training does not play a role.

Tasks at this level, of course, vary greatly in complexity and require knowledge that is not limited to the school curriculum. But still, in this case, they can be mastered by a student who has successfully completed a school course and studied additional literature.

III Regional stage

The regional stage plays very important role in the All-Russian Olympiad: it is designed to select the best among the winners of the municipal stage, who will be able to compete with each other in the final. But more on that later. First of all, it is worth noting that at this stage only students who have completed assignments for grades 9-11 can participate. Unlike previous levels, this one requires really serious preparation from students. His assignments are not limited to the school curriculum, even if it is an in-depth one, but they go significantly beyond them. Moreover, their successful implementation requires not only a good academic base and general erudition, but also the ability to think critically and carefully analyze the material. Therefore, the sooner a student begins preparing for the All-Russian Olympiad, the more chances he will have to successfully pass this stage.

IV Final stage

As the song says: “ Last Stand“He is the most difficult.” To become the winner or prize-winner of the final stage of the All-Russian Secondary School, you will have to beat the guys from all over Russia who have proven their right to compete for victory at the regional. Students in grades 9-11 can participate in it, but students in grades 5-8 are also allowed to participate if at the previous stage they competed for grade 9 and scored the required number of points. If in a certain region not a single student has scored the number of points established by the Ministry of Education, then the student who has scored greatest number points. However, it must be at least 50% of the established value.

Speaking about the complexity of tasks and the required level of preparation, one cannot help but notice the obvious - they, of course, increase even more. It is also extremely important to understand what techniques are used to solve certain problems. To do this, it is useful to solve options from previous years and discuss them with experienced participants. Olympiad visiting schools and Olympiad preparation courses can help with this, where teachers will understand the formats of tasks, know all the requirements for their implementation and pay attention only to Olympiad preparation. No one promises that this path will be easy, but that’s why it is the final stage, so that only those who have put maximum effort and time into becoming the best can win it.

The All-Russian Olympiad for Schoolchildren is one of the most popular and long-awaited events in the educational sphere of Russia. It is anticipated by gifted children studying in almost all classes. Perhaps, only the annual State Certification of Students can be called a more ambitious project, because thousands of schoolchildren take part in the Olympiad, demonstrating the knowledge acquired in 24 academic disciplines.

Becoming a participant in this event is a mission filled with honor and responsibility. Well, winning the Olympics in one of the subjects is a chance to demonstrate the knowledge and skills accumulated over the years, the opportunity to stand up for your school, and also receive excellent prizes. For students in grades 9-11, victory in the highest round of the competition is accompanied by another important and even fateful opportunity - they get the chance to become applicants to the best universities, institutes and academies of the Russian Federation on preferential terms.

Of course, becoming a winner is not so easy - just being a talented student is not enough for this. Olympians have to work through educational materials and master topics that go far beyond what is required to achieve an excellent grade. Let's find out how, when and in what mode the All-Russian Olympiad will be held in the 2018/2019 academic year!

The first round of the 2019 Olympics starts in schools in September 2018!

From the history of the Olympics

Of course, we can talk about the development of the modern All-Russian Olympiad from the moment the history of Russia began as a federal state. However, the foundations of this event in the field of education were laid in the distant 19th century, when in 1886 members of the Astronomical Society of the Russian Empire initiated the holding of olympiad competitions in solving mathematical problems for “studying youth”.

When the Russian Empire was replaced on the world map Soviet Union, the school Olympiad movement not only did not stop, but also noticeably intensified - since the 30s of the last century, Olympiads began to be held for high school students in such disciplines as mathematics, physics and chemistry. Gradually, the Olympiads began to be called All-Union Olympiads, and in the 60s, the Minister of Education M.A. Prokofiev signed a decree approving a whole list of Olympiad competitions between schoolchildren.

Over time, the number of subjects in which one could demonstrate one's knowledge only increased. For example, computer science was included in the list back in 1989; in 1992, geography was included in the list; two years later, astronomy and ecology; three years later, literature; and in 2000, the first foreign language was added to the list—German. The most recent expansion of the number of subjects occurred in 2016, when schoolchildren began to compete in three more foreign languages(Spanish, Chinese and Italian).

Interesting fact: Today, specialists from the Department of General Education, part of the country’s Ministry of Education, supervise Olympiads in 24 subjects.

Disciplines of the All-Russian Olympiad

In the 2018/2019 academic year, Russian students will have the chance to compete for victory in the Olympiad rounds, which are held in the following school disciplines:

  • exact sciences are represented by such a discipline as computer science and computer technology, as well as one of the “oldest” subjects – mathematics;
  • disciplines of a natural nature are represented by an extremely wide range - you can take part in geographical, biological, astronomical, physical, chemical and environmental competitions;
  • the philological direction includes olympiad competitions for knowledge of German, English, Chinese, Spanish, French and Italian, as well as Russian language and literature;
  • students who are inclined towards the humanities can try their hand at a historical Olympiad, social studies, competition in the field of law or economics;
  • In addition, the Olympiad subjects include art, technology and basic life safety, as well as a competition for real athletes - physical education.

Organization of the federal Olympics

Victory in the All-Russian Olympiad involves going through a long and difficult path, because students will have to demonstrate their strongest sides during 4 stages:

  1. School stage. This tour can easily be called the simplest, since its organizers are local governments responsible for education in the city districts. In the first stage, children representing classes from 5th to 11th compete. 4th grade students take part in this tour only in two subjects - Russian language and mathematics. The desire of students should not be limited in any way - anyone can become a participant in the school tour. However, you need to be prepared for the fact that the assignments will go beyond the normal curriculum, and even represent topics studied in high school. The winners move on to the next round.
  2. Municipal stage. In this round, the participants are children representing grades from 7th to 11th. This stage is organized by the city department of education, whose specialists set quotas for participants in each academic discipline, compiles lists of students (this takes into account the number of points that each class received in the previous stage of the Olympiad). Winners can participate school tours this year, as well as the guys who became winners of the Olympiad last year.
  3. Regional stage. This level of the Olympiad is held for students who study in programs from grades 9 to 11. Participation is determined by the number of points scored in the municipal subject round. As at the previous stage, both the winners of the municipal stage of the 2018/2019 academic year and the previous one can compete. In addition, the number of participants can be expanded to include students who study abroad in educational institutions subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  4. Final stage carried out on a statewide scale. The composition of the final round of the Olympiad is formed directly by specialists representing the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Students who have become winners of the current and previous academic periods can also compete in this round. If a situation arises that in some region of the country none of the participants subject Olympiad failed to score the required number of points, then the Ministry of Education may agree to delegate one student who scored at least 50% of all points for the tasks of the regional round. An exception is also possible for students who are actually studying in grades 5-8 at school, but wish to speak in the subject for grade 9. The winners and runners-up of this prestigious tour are awarded diplomas that certify the right to enter any university in the country. Only two conditions need to be met - obtain a school certificate and enroll in a specialty in the subject in which the victory was recorded. In addition, such gifted children receive a special bonus on behalf of the Russian government.

Quotas for participants

It is worth distinguishing between the concepts of winners and prize-winners of tours related to the regional and federal stages. The winner is automatically the student who scores the maximum points in his subject. The winner must receive points established as passing scores by the Ministry of Education. In addition, the number of winners has a clearly defined quota:

  • at the regional round their number cannot exceed 25%;
  • in the final round there can be no more than 45%. At the same time, at this stage the number of winners is also limited - no more than 8% of the total number of participants in the tour.

During what periods do the stages of the Olympiad take place?

The Olympiad covers almost the entire academic year: it begins in September and ends in May. If we talk about individual stages, then in 2018/2019, as before, the following periods will be assigned:

  • The school tour runs from mid-September to the end of October.
  • The municipal tour is organized from the 20th of October to mid-December;
  • the regional stage runs from mid-January to the end of February;
  • final stage school Olympiad will take place from mid-March to mid-May.

Preparation for standard tasks for the Olympiad

To prepare for the Olympics, download and work through standard tasks

Olympiad tasks for each subject are most often divided into two blocks - theory and practice. Of course, each of the disciplines involves its own specifics and characteristics of tasks, especially when it comes to the final round, so without careful preparation there's no way around it. If we talk in detail about some Olympiad disciplines, then we can cite the following facts:

  • the Arts Olympiad will reveal the student’s creative abilities, so it’s worth getting your teeth into and honing your drawing or sculpture techniques;
  • mathematicians are often given tricky problems that need to be solved in non-standard ways;
  • non-competitive tasks are often prepared for participants in Russian language tours - for example, in the form of a reasoned argument or even writing the Olympic anthem;
  • Schoolchildren competing in the Informatics Olympiad must solve only practical tasks. Interestingly, during final rounds often conduct online broadcasts and teleconferences with famous Russian scientists;
  • on Chemistry Olympiad schoolchildren will have to show not only theoretical knowledge, but also the ability to conduct experiments in all areas of this science;
  • for ecology, starting with the regional tour, it is planned to present and defend an interesting and relevant environmental project;
  • Geography Olympiad will require excellent ability to navigate using maps. Interestingly, as part of this non-competition competition, a multimedia quiz with prizes is held. The best of the best may be awarded additional financial incentives - personalized scholarship payments from the Around the World company, which are awarded throughout all years of university study;
  • in the history competition you will not only need to show that you are excellent at solving tests, but also write an essay and a history project.

However, you can practice in advance using examples of Olympic complexes over the past years. For example, to help students, you can recommend the Internet resource rosolymp.ru - this is the direct official website of the All-Russian Olympiad. Here you can find tasks for federal stages over the past few years (and even answers to them).

The portal at vos.olimpiada.ru will also be useful - it contains tasks of several stages, including municipal and regional, and this resource is updated with enviable regularity. Here you can follow the tours of the next academic year and find assignments for all classes. Also, all the necessary information is provided on the official website of the Ministry responsible for education and science of the Russian Federation.

Support and criticism of the All-Russian Olympiads

Like any phenomenon, the Olympics have two sides. Of course, these events have enormous positive consequences, because they help to popularize science and identify the most talented students among students who, with proper support, will be able to achieve world recognition. Thus, the example of mathematician G.Ya. is very indicative. Perelman, who won the Olympiad back in Soviet times, and then became a laureate of the European Mathematical Society Prize, as well as the international Fields Prize (for being able to solve the Poincré conjecture).

For the same achievement, Perelman received a $1 million award from the leadership of the Clay Mathematical Institute! You can also remember S.K. Smirnov, who had previously demonstrated his mathematical talent at the Olympiad.
