Volleyball qualifying women's world championship. North America Men's Zone

Now it's in full swing qualifying for the 2018 Volleyball World Championship, so hot battles are being waged among the best men's and women's teams. Every team dreams of attending the most anticipated sports festival. It is worth noting that the favorites of the championship easily make their way through the storm of struggle and the qualifying group goes on as usual. It is not difficult for strong teams to defeat weaker opponents. There are no important surprises yet. But in women's volleyball a completely different story.

2018 Volleyball World Championship men

For the first time a certain story will happen that The Volleyball World Championship will be held in two European countries:Italy And tourist Bulgaria. The date of such a holiday will be determined at a meeting of the FIVB federation in the summer of 2017. However, there is already a list of volleyball countries that have successfully qualified for the upcoming championship:

  • Brazil is the standard of volleyball and also the winner South America;
  • Italy is the host country of the competition;
  • Poland world champions 2014;
  • Bulgaria is the host of the championship.

European zone men.

Europe has seven World Cup seats in its baggage. Six teams made it through the main selection and will definitely make it to the tournament. According to the rules, 36 participants were divided into six subgroups. However, only the holder of the first line in the ranking has the right to immediately qualify for the championship. The best men's volleyball teams were selected in a round-robin manner. Each team had to play one game from standings. Placement was decided by points and victories. For example, if a team won 3:0 or 3:1, then it automatically received three points. If she won with a score of 3:2, she received two points. In case of a 3:2 defeat, the losing team was awarded 1 point. So, in the subgroups the following countries won victories:

  • Finland;
  • Serbia;
  • Netherlands;
  • Russia;
  • France;
  • Slovenia.

Other teams, which include Belarus, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Estonia and Slovakia, will have to play another round of qualifying games. What’s so interesting is that all the teams are practically equal and everyone has a chance to win. Only one will win the 2018 Volleyball World Cup. It is impossible to predict the future winner, even if we wanted to.

Men's Asia and Oceania.

In these zones there are only 4 tickets available for applicants, which will entitle them to travel to the tournament. Final games will start in autumn 2017. Here are huge chances in such teams as:

  • Iran;
  • Japan;
  • Young Korea;
  • China.

Traditionally, these participants make it to planetary competitions. Therefore, we can make a certain prediction that the above-mentioned teams have a high chance of going to Italy and Bulgaria. Of course, Austria, North Korea, the UAE, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia can compete for the secret ticket of the AVC block. Will any of these teams be able to shoot? We think so.

Men's African Zone.

The African region can compete for three tickets to the 2018 Volleyball World Championship. There, of course, there is a struggle for survival, all participants want to fulfill their dream and go to the World Cup. Games are played in two stages. First, weak teams compete, then little by little teams with high ratings enter the game. The CAVB zone or block is very unpredictable; each contender has a huge chance of winning, both weak and strong, judging by the overall rating. The list of favorites in the African zone consists of Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia. Let’s just say that they stand out significantly from others, so it’s not easy for them to put up a fight. In principle, even the weakest participant has a chance, it all depends on preparation and motivation, because everyone can play there.

Men's zone Server America.

North America was given six tickets to the World Cup. The qualification stage starts in autumn 2017. There the list of applicants will be determined. We can note the main favorites who have great chances to reach the planetary part of the tournament. Prefabricated:

  • Canada;
  • Mexico;
  • Cuba;
  • Dominican Republic;
  • Puerto Rico.

Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Costa Rica can show their teeth significantly. The chances are, of course, smaller, but they are there. These countries are not considered volleyball countries and do not pay significant attention to volleyball as a sport. However, the athletes are playing well.

South America.

But here the participants are even more squeezed into a framework because of one ticket. The games are expected to be exciting and tough. Since Brazil has a direct ticket to Europe, there are great chances in such teams as:

  • Colombia;
  • Venezuela;
  • Argentina.

Only Argentina stands out here because it has secured its ninth position in the world rankings. Only Colombia and Venezuela can take away their ticket, and then only if things really don’t go well.

2018 Volleyball World Championships Women

The 2018 Women's Volleyball World Championship starts from September 30 to October 21. The host country that will host 24 worthy teams is Japan. Over the course of 12 years, the land of the rising sun has already hosted three similar competitions. Two national squads for the Volleyball World Championship took advantage of the automatic component:

  1. Japan is the host of the championship;
  2. The USA is the previous world champion.

The other 22 teams will compete in ruthless qualifying formats. They were divided into blocks. So-called innovation. For example, European selections have three parts: the first includes squads from small states. Since the competition has already passed this stage, the winners in the stranglehold were Iceland and Cyprus. Then the participants of the Old World join, and they are already divided into six small subgroups. The champion of his subgroup receives an automatic ticket to qualify for the World Cup; other teams are required to play in the qualifying stages, where they will decide who will receive the two remaining tickets to the upcoming championship.

So far at qualifying games The following were held at the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Championship: national countries How:

  • Russia;
  • Germany;
  • Türkiye;
  • Italy;
  • Azerbaijan;
  • Serbia.

These six teams, including the USA and Japan, are waiting for the remaining participants. There are also six more contenders who will be able to get the coveted ticket. Among them:

  • Czech Republic;
  • Belgium;
  • Bulgaria;
  • Netherlands;
  • Greece;
  • Slovenia.

The best chances are here in Bulgaria, because the girls only needed one point to qualify from the subgroup. The Netherlands also have a high chance of winning. Women's volleyball has a twist of unpredictability that makes the tournament very varied and interesting.

Women's Asian region.

Qualifications for the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Championship in the Asian region include two parts. From the very beginning, 18 volleyball teams qualified for group qualification, but for some reason, six teams abandoned the tournament. Based on the final matches, the following countries made it to the second stage: North Korea, Iran and Fiji. They got to strong opponents. Those who gain a foothold in the first two positions in the ranking will get a chance to get to the World Cup. The qualifying round is scheduled for autumn 2017. And to be precise, for September. Greater chances of luck in such teams as:

North America and the Caribbean.

Six tickets are being drawn from the NORCECA territory. These include Central, North America and the Caribbean. There will be three stages for women in this zone. IN final part Twelve out of 40 participants will qualify for the qualifying matches. The highest ranked countries will receive direct berths to the women's volleyball qualifying matches. Notable teams:

  • Canada;
  • Cuba;
  • Guatemala;
  • Nicaragua;
  • Dominican Republic;
  • Mexico;
  • Puerto Rico.

The final stage of the qualifying games starts in October 2017. But there, in the fiercest competition among the 12 best squads, 6 tickets to Japan will be competed for. Most likely, luck will smile on the Dominicans, Canadians, Mexicans and Cubans. The remaining two national teams need to show effective play to get a ticket.

Women's South America.

South America will send only two teams to the World Cup. At the beginning of the qualifying stage, a ticket to the 2017 South American Volleyball Championship, which will take place in hot Colombia, will be drawn. The Brazilian national team has almost 95% success. The girls show a phenomenal performance and do not forgive anyone. On next stage a squad will be determined to win another ticket to travel to Japan. But here Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela will have to fight for it.

Women's American Zone.

During the qualifying games for the Volleyball World Championship, two tickets are provided. The qualification stage is divided into two stages. So, the first subgroup or stage divides the teams into seven territorial blocks, and the champion of the subgroup gets into the second part of the qualifying matches. Accordingly, volleyball battles do not subside, because there are still blocks 2 and 6. There are a total of 14 teams in the final stage. Two of them will come from the world rankings, which they have worked hard to achieve over the years, and 12 will go to the first stage.

What is the Russian volleyball team like at the 2018 World Championships?

The great news is that the women's and men's teams made it through the qualifiers. The beautiful half won all matches, only losing in two sets with five goals. The stronger half, like the women, easily won their games. In fact, they gave one game to the Estonia national team and nothing more. Despite our confident performances, experts estimate our chances of winning the upcoming championship to be slightly above average.

Ladies play the best composition, so Vladimir Kuzyutkin’s team must show the game aerobatics. There may be a problem in their wheels at the playoff stage, because the beautiful girls need to survive the toughest match against the USA. And the United States of America is the favorite and leader of the world rankings in the upcoming competitions. Of course, the domestic squad is capable of winning against the Americans, but only if our beauties are well prepared and luck smiles on them that day.

A few words about the male half, they are now undergoing the so-called generational change, which ultimately affects the results during important games. The 2014 Volleyball World Cup was not on Russia's side as the men lost to Brazil and Poland. As a result, only fifth place. However, in recent years the level of volleyball in our country has increased significantly. Even Iran or the USA, as the leaders of world volleyball, can compete with our national team. For viewers, male rivalry greatly increases interest. Let's wish our guys good luck so that all the skeptics shut their mouths.

Afterword.

From which we can conclude that the final selection will finish in the fall. Strong teams are ready to fly to Japan. Fans of this impressive and bright look sports can be familiarized to all participants of the upcoming Volleyball World Championship 2018. Every year, such tournaments attract tens of millions of viewers around the world on sports channels and the Internet.

Please note that the popularity of volleyball is no less than the World Hockey Championship or the World Football Championship. Best Moments among the women's volleyball teams is a little lower in the video.

The selection for the Volleyball World Championship is now in full swing: the best women's and men's teams on the planet are fighting a fierce battle to get to one of the main sporting events 2018. It should be noted that the current qualifying tournament has not yet brought any serious surprises, and all the favorites easily beat less experienced and skilled opponents.

The 2018 World Championship among the fair half of humanity will be held from September 30 to October 21. The tournament, in which the 24 best national teams will play, will be hosted by Japan, which has already hosted three similar championships over the past 12 years. Two national teams were automatically exempted from qualifying for the 2018 Women's World Cup:

  • Japan (as the host country of the competition);
  • USA (as the winner of the previous World Cup).

The remaining 22 teams will have to go through qualifications, which have acquired a new format. For example, the European qualifying cycle includes three stages: in the first of them, teams belonging to the small states division (EKB) start. This tournament has already taken place, and its winners were Cyprus and Iceland. At the second stage, the remaining teams of the Old World are connected, which are divided into 6 subgroups. The winner of their subgroup automatically qualifies for the World Championship, and the second teams enter the third qualifying stage, where they will compete for the remaining two tickets to the planetary championship.

On at the moment The following women's teams qualified for the 2018 World Cup:

  • Russia;
  • Serbia;
  • Türkiye;
  • Italy;
  • Germany;
  • Azerbaijan.

These teams will join Japan and the USA. Six more teams, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Greece, will play in the third in July 2017 qualifying round. The national teams of Bulgaria (only 1 point missing to win the subgroup) and the Netherlands have the greatest chances for the first two places. However, women's volleyball is so unpredictable that winning the coveted ticket to final tournament Any of the teams can.

Women's World Cup: qualification in other zones

The qualifying tournament for the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Championship in the Asian zone is being held in two stages. Initially, 18 teams were declared for the first stage of qualification, but six of them refused to participate. As a result of the games, the teams of Iran, North Korea and Fiji advanced to the second stage, joining stronger teams. All participants are divided into two subgroups of 5 countries each. Only the first two places in the subgroup guarantee entry to the World Championship. Qualification will take place in September 2017, and the following teams have the greatest chance of success:

  • Iran;
  • China;
  • Kazakhstan;
  • South Korea.

Six vouchers are being awarded from the NORCECA (North, Central America, Caribbean) zone. Qualification for the 2018 World Cup consists of three stages, and only 12 of the 40 declared teams will advance to the final qualifying stage. The teams with the highest rating in world volleyball automatically qualify for the last stage of selection. Among them:

  • Dominican Republic;
  • Puerto Rico;
  • Costa Rica;
  • Nicaragua;
  • Guatemala;
  • Mexico;
  • Canada;
  • Cuba.

The final selection will take place in October 2017, and out of 12 teams, only the first 6 will receive the right to go to Japan in 2018. Most likely, these lucky ones will be the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Canada, Mexico and two other national teams that will perform well in the final stage of qualification.

Only two teams from the South American continent will go to the planetary volleyball championship. At the first stage of selection, one ticket will be played at the South American Championship, which will take place in August 2017 in Colombia. With almost 100% probability the Brazilian team will win it. At the second stage of qualification in October, another lucky winner will be determined, and several national teams, including Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru, have the greatest chance of going to Japan.

The African Volleyball Confederation will compete for two tickets during the selection for the Women's World Championship. Qualification involves 2 stages: at the first stage, the teams will be divided into 7 territorial zones, and the winner of their subgroup automatically advances to the second stage of selection. Also, two teams from zones 2-6 will continue to fight. In total, 14 teams will take part in the final part of the qualification: 12 will pass the first stage, and 2 will be added according to the world ranking. So far, only Senegal has won the right to fight in last stage selection.

Men's World Championship: Qualification in Europe

2018 Men's Volleyball World Championship for the first time in history will pass in two countries: Bulgaria and Italy. The exact date of the tournament, which will be attended by 24 best teams planet, will be determined in the summer of 2017 at a special meeting of the FIVB. Today we already know 4 teams that qualified for the final competition. They became:

  • Italy (host country of the championship);
  • Bulgaria (host country of the championship):
  • Brazil (South American champion);
  • Poland (2014 world champion).

7 places have been allocated for Europe at the 2018 World Cup. At the main stage of qualification, 6 lucky winners were determined who would definitely go to the final tournament. All 36 applicants were divided into 6 subgroups, and only the first place gave the opportunity to directly qualify for the planetary championship. Qualification for the 2018 World Cup among men took place according to a round-robin system: this means that each team played one match with opponents from the tournament table. The distribution of places was influenced by the number of victories along with the amount of points scored. For a win of 3:0 or 3:1 in games, the team was awarded 3 points, a victory with a score of 3:2 brought 2 points, and a defeat of 2:3 in games allowed the losing team to receive 1 credit point.

As expected, the following teams won their subgroups:

  • France;
  • the Netherlands;
  • Slovenia;
  • Russia;
  • Serbia;
  • Finland.

Another six teams, including Spain, Belarus, Estonia, Belgium, Slovakia and Germany, will play in another qualifying round. Only the winner of this tournament will go to Italy and Bulgaria in 2018. All of the listed participants have approximately equal chances of success, so it is almost impossible to predict the last lucky winner from Europe.

Men's World Championship: qualification in other zones

In the selection of the AVC zone (Asia and Oceania) for the 2018 World Cup, the schedule of which will be confirmed a little later, only 4 national teams will be able to go to the planetary championship. The final part of the qualification will take place in the fall of 2017, and the following teams traditionally have the highest chances of success:

  • South Korea;
  • Japan;
  • China;
  • Iran.

Most likely, these squads will go to Italy and Bulgaria, but a number of other AVC cathedral zones, including Kazakhstan, Australia, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, can compete for the coveted ticket.

There are only 3 tickets available for the African zone to the 2018 Volleyball World Cup. A fierce struggle will unfold for them in two stages: the first will involve teams with the lowest ratings, and the second will involve more famous teams. The CAVB zone is one of the most unpredictable, so almost every applicant has a chance to play in a planetary competition. The list of likely winners of the qualification includes the national teams of Egypt ( multiple champion Africa), Tunisia, Algeria. It will be extremely difficult for them to compete with other teams.

From zone North America 6 teams will go to the planetary championship. The main qualification stage will take place in the fall of 2017, when it will be determined final composition participants. Experts include the following teams in the list of main contenders for passage to the final part of the competition:

  • Cuba;
  • Canada;
  • Mexico;
  • Puerto Rico;
  • Dominican Republic.

The teams of Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, and Honduras can get into the fight, but their chances look less favorable compared to their opponents. In the listed countries, volleyball is not a priority sport, so there are very few players of a decent level who can compete with the Cubans or Americans.

In the South American CSV zone, only one vacant ticket to the 2018 Men's Volleyball World Championship is up for grabs. Several teams will fight fiercely for it. Since the Brazilians have already qualified, the following teams are likely contenders for passage:

  • Argentina;
  • Venezuela;
  • Colombia.

Of the listed teams, Argentina, which currently occupies ninth place in the world rankings, has an excellent chance of qualifying. Only the Venezuelan team can compete with them, but this is only possible if the Argentines' game goes completely wrong.

Russia's chances at the 2018 World Cup

Both the Russian men's and women's national teams qualified for the 2018 Volleyball World Cup. The women won all their matches in the subgroup, losing only 2 sets in 5 matches. Men had a similar result - in all games from the wrestling cycle they won confident victory, and only the Estonians managed to take one game. Despite such a confident performance in qualifying, many experts assess the chances of winning prizes at the planetary forum as slightly above average.

The women's team now has an optimal composition, so Vladimir Kuzyutkin's charges should not experience problems at the group stage of the World Championship. Problems can only arise at the playoff stage, where the girls from Russia will probably have to compete with the leaders of world volleyball. The US team is the favorite of the upcoming 2018 World Cup, but the Russian team is capable of beating the Americans with the right attitude and a successful set of circumstances.

As for men's volleyball, there is a gradual change of generations in the national team, which leaves its mark on the results in important matches. At the 2014 World Cup, the Russians lost to Poland and Brazil with their optimal composition, which allowed them to win only 5th place. The level of men's volleyball has recently increased so much that, in addition to Brazil, Poland and Italy, teams from the USA, France, and Iran can compete with Russia on equal terms. All this only increases spectator interest in the tournament, where our guys will make every effort to put the skeptics to shame.

Thus, the selection for the 2018 Volleyball World Cup among women and men will end in the fall, and fans of this dynamic sport will be able to recognize all the participants in the upcoming tournaments. Every year, the volleyball planetary championship attracts the attention of millions of domestic people who ardently support their national team. In terms of popularity, this event can only be compared with that of the year, which will be held for the first time in the Russian Federation from June 14 to July 15, 2018.

See the best draws of the Russian women's volleyball team in the following video:

The Russian team won the qualifying tournament for the 2018 World Cup among women's teams in Osijek, Croatia. And there could be no doubt about it, since the Russians were up against rivals who were noticeably inferior in class. Five matches – five victories, task completed. But our team’s performance did not cause any enthusiasm. And most importantly, it became clear that without leaders the team quickly compares with outsiders in terms of level.

Finished the game until Japan

There was no doubt about the final result of the qualifying tournament. The difference in class between the Russian team and its rivals is too great. Any other result other than first place would have been a real sensation. It’s kind of stupid to count on anything else when the Croatian national team had the highest rating of all the rivals – as much as 18th in the world. And the national teams of Austria and Georgia could not be perceived as rivals at all - two-sided matches in training are more useful than beating these teams.

Frolova: invitation to the national team is a gift of fate

Finisher Maria Frolova on how to become a Decembrist, how to get into the national team at 30, and what is more important – family or sport.

Therefore, there is no point in emitting loud cries of joy. In Osijek, the Russians did what they were obliged to do even with the second or third team. But head coach Vladimir Kuzyutkin, in order not to take risks, attracted almost all the leaders, except those who refused for family reasons or were unable to play due to injuries. And those whom the coach does not want to see on the national team.

The Russian national team has secured a ticket to the 2018 World Cup, which will be held in Japan, but in order to perform successfully there, the quality of the game must be radically different. Now the main players have begun their long-awaited rest.

Russia – Austria – 3:0 (25:14, 25:13, 25:15)
Russia – Georgia – 3:0 (25:8, 25:6, 25:13)
Russia – Greece – 3:1 (25:10, 24:26, 25:16, 25:23)
Russia – Hungary – 3:0 (25:11, 25:21, 25:7)
Russia – Croatia – 3:1 (25:22, 25:21, 20:25, 25:15).

There are more questions than answers

But the tournament in Croatia left more questions than answers. There are no complaints, perhaps, only about the central blockers. Of course, you need to take into account the level of your opponents, but our block really played well. And when there were difficult moments, like in the fourth game against the Greeks, who are 60 positions behind our team in the rankings, it was the block that made a difference in the game.

Zaryazhko: I’m spending my honeymoon at a training camp in Novogorsk

Irina Zaryazhko - about difficulties family life athletes, the season spent in Kazan and the fight for a place in the national team.

There are many questions about the quality of the second gear. Even the Austrians managed to read the slow combination, when Ekaterina Pankova passes to Natalia Goncharova. What can we say when this will be used in games against the national teams of Brazil, China, and Serbia? Head coach our team is offended when his work is criticized and says that he is not going to argue with amateurs, but didn’t he really see that Dynamo Moscow miserably lost the main tournaments of the year precisely because of the unsuccessful actions of the team?

Incomprehensible experiments with follow-up player Irina Voronkova in the diagonal. And was it worth removing Natalya Malykh and Daria Stolyarova from the team? The questions here are not for Voronkova, if anything. Where they put it, it plays there. It’s just not clear why this was started. Finisher Maria Frolova did not perform very well. First of all, at the reception. With the national teams of Austria and Georgia this is not too noticeable, and when a stronger opponent comes across, the team will lose its fine-tuning.

In general, the final result was ensured by the leaders, and not by the players who were brought in to back them up. Of the newcomers, perhaps there are no questions only about blocker Ekaterina Efimova, who played at her level. The rest, apparently, simply did not have time to understand the demands put forward by coaching staff. But this is a fixable matter if the team has a little more time to train with this lineup.

What's next?

The main tournament for our team will be held in September, and it will be the European Championship. By that time, it would be nice for Vladimir Kuzyutkin to decide on players who can, at least for some time during a single match, replace the leaders. For now, it turns out that as soon as the reservists enter the court, the team drops to the level of the outsiders they play with.

Kuzyutkin: the team should have 15 players of equal value

About the composition of the team for the qualifying tournament for the 2018 World Cup, about the gold mine of women's volleyball and leech agents - in an interview with Vladimir Kuzyutkin.

Before the European Championship, the Russian team will have to play in the Yeltsin Cup from June 26 to 30 and in the Grand Prix from July 7 to August 6. At these tournaments - even if they are high-status, but still commercial - all potential candidates can be given the opportunity to play. Including those who “did not live up to expectations” and at the same time dragged their club down all season.

In general, it is too early to give very critical assessments to our team after the qualifying tournament - most played immediately after the end of the club season, without rest. But after the Grand Prix, it will become clear whether the promised renewal of the team will take place and whether there will be 15 full-fledged players or whether the same ones will continue to carry everything.

The North American women convincingly defeated the Chinese in the final match with a score of 3:1. Based on the results of the 17th draw, the quartet of the best participating teams looked like this:

  1. China;

  3. Italy.

The fifth and sixth places were shared by the Russians and the Dominicans, the seventh and eighth positions were occupied by the Serbian and Japanese athletes, and the ninth and tenth by the Turkish and German athletes.

Russia at the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Cup

The domestic squad will begin the fight for medals in Group C. The Russians will compete against Americans, Koreans, Azerbaijanis, Thailand and volleyball players from Trinidad and Tobago. The sextet is quite smooth. Obviously, the struggle for first place will unfold between Russian, American and Korean volleyball players.

The calendar of games for the Women’s Volleyball World Championship 2018 for our girls is as follows:

  • 09/29/2018: Russia – Trinidad and Tobago;
  • 09/30/2018: Russia – Thailand;
  • 02/10/2018: Russia – Azerbaijan;
  • 03/10/2018: Russia – South Korea;
  • 04/10/2018: USA – Russia.

Our women have always been one of the leaders in world volleyball. It is no coincidence that the Soviet team has the most gold medals – five. The peak of the USSR's power occurred in the 50s - 70s of the 20th century.

The successes of the domestic team are not so significant. But she also has something to brag about. The Russians have two World Cup gold and three bronze medals. The highest medals were won by our girls in 2006 and 2010.

The last draw of the tournament was unsuccessful for the Russian squad. The fight for gold ended for them on the approaches to the playoffs - in the 3rd group stage. Many of the girls who will come to Japan are participants in the unsuccessful World Cup four years ago. Therefore, fans can rest assured that they will have something to prove!

Already started. Almost all national teams on the planet (179 in total) from six zones will compete in qualification for this tournament. Only the 23 best football teams will make it to the finals, so the fight for getting into the 2019 World Cup promises to be hot.

Where will the tournament take place?

The Women's World Cup will take place from 1 to 30 June 2019. Initially, five countries announced their intention to host the planetary championship, but only France and South Korea submitted applications. In March 2015, after a vote by members of the FIFA executive committee, France was chosen as the host country of the competition. The local football federation assured officials that the Championship peace will pass on top level and will become a real celebration of sports.

The group stage matches, the knockout stages and the final match will take place in 9 different cities in France. The list of competition arenas includes:

  • "Stade Ocean" (Le Havre);
  • Roazhon Park (Rennes);
  • "Auguste Delon" (Reims);
  • Allianz Riviera (Nice);
  • Parc des Princes (Paris);
  • Stade du Hainaut (Valenciennes);
  • Stade des Alpes (Grenoble);
  • "Park Olympique Lyonne" (Lyon);
  • Stade de la Masson (Montpellier).

All of the listed stadiums have modern infrastructure, since they host home matches of Ligue 1 clubs and minor French football championships. Comfortable chairs, good review, amazing fan atmosphere - that's far from full list benefits that await fans who decide to visit these arenas.

Tournament regulations

Format Women's Championship world 2019 will remain unchanged. All 23 teams that have successfully qualified, plus the French team, as the host country of the championship, will be divided into six subgroups. This is the second tournament that will be held with 24 national representatives. Until 2015, the tournament format meant the participation of only 16 teams, and the playoff stage began with the 1/4 finals.

At the group stage, each team will play one match against opponents from the table. For a victory, 3 points are awarded, for a draw, the participants in the match receive 1 point, and a defeat does not bring any points into the treasury. The two best teams from the subgroups advance to the knockout round to the 1/8 final stage. The distribution takes place according to the “crosswise” principle: the first team of subgroup “A” will play with the second from subgroup “B”, the second will play with the first, etc.

If in a playoff series the main time of the match does not reveal a winner, two halves of 15 minutes are assigned. Often extra time does not reveal a winner, and then a penalty shootout takes place. The final match of the 2019 Women's World Cup is scheduled for June 30, and it will be held at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris.

Qualifying tournament

For each football confederation a certain number of places have been allocated for the Women's World Cup. Quotas were distributed as follows:

  • North America (CONCACAF) – 3 + 1 team advancing to the play-offs;
  • South America (COMNEBALL) – 2 + 1 team advancing to the play-offs;
  • – 8 + French team;
  • Oceania (OFC) – 1;
  • Africa (CAF) – 3;
  • Asia (AFC) – 5.

In the UEFA zone qualifying matches The Women's World Championships have already started. All 35 participants were divided into 7 subgroups of 5 national teams each. All teams within their subgroups will play two matches with their opponents (at the home stadium and at the opponent’s field). The matches will take place from September 11, 2017 to September 4, 2018. Only football squads that take first place qualify for the finals. IN play-offs The 4 best second place holders will play, and the points scored with the fifth team in the subgroup are not taken into account.

Prospects for the Russian national team

Women's football in Russia is not developing as progressively as many domestic fans would like. In this regard, the chances national team in the selection for the World Cup of the year in question are very vague. Subgroup “A” contains teams that are higher in the FIFA rankings and have a more skilled set of players. We are talking, first of all, about the girls of England and Wales, although the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also not a gift.

The best achievement of the Russian women's team dates back to 2003. Then at the World Championship, Yuri Bystritsky’s team reached the quarterfinals. After that, the domestic team did not make it to the finals of the World Cup. Since 2015, the team has been headed by Elena Fomina, but under the leadership of this specialist, Russian girls do not grab stars from the sky.

The current selection for the Championship also got off to a bad start. In two matches, only 1 point was gained in the home match with Wales. Starting game The Russians failed in their visit to England, losing with a final score of 6:0. Obviously, the key matches in the group are still ahead, but we can already say that the team is not playing well. There are complaints about both actions in defense (most goals conceded in the group) and in attack (0 goals scored). Elena Fomina urgently needs to change something, otherwise Russia will again fly past the final part of the World Cup.

The qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Cup in France is already in full swing. Women's teams battle to qualify through the qualifiers, demonstrating interesting football and the will to win. Don't miss team matches and Russian girls in particular, because they will certainly bring you a lot of emotions.
