Why is FIFA 18 better than Dog? PES or FIFA? Comparison of MyClub and Ultimate Team

Five main differences in popular football simulators.

On August 30, 2018, it will be possible to download PES 2019, and a month later, download FIFA 19. The confrontation between two new simulators opens new season. “Living Sports” will help you make a choice, PES or FIFA in 2019.

Russian League in PES

A shock for FIFA fans - there will be no RFPL in 2019. It won’t be at all, even in a lightweight format without licenses. Pro Evolution Soccer in best years differed from FIFA in its realism, but the lack of official clubs was always a problem. North London and Man Blue - every year such titles have to be rewritten manually, download patches or just play as is. The number of licenses in PES has increased over time, but it’s still a drop in the ocean.

Licenses in PES 2019 and FIFA

The Japanese decided to take a cunning route and sign full-fledged contracts with developing leagues. That is why RPL will exclusively appear in PES, but it will not be in FIFA. Also in the Japanese simulator there are championships:

Argentina;
Belgium;
Switzerland;
Turkey;
Portugal;
Denmark.

FIFA, as usual, has dozens of licensed leagues, including the European Top 5 in full.

FIFA Champions League

There is already a joke circulating on the Internet that FIFA and PES exchanged without looking. There were no licensed European Cups in FIFA. Now there will be a solemn anthem and all the attributes. This is a huge success for Canadian developers. Added to official players and teams main tournament Europe. In PES, returning to the sad past is strange international tournaments, invented by the Japanese.

Survival mode and street football?

The other day it was officially confirmed that in FIFA 19 we will have the opportunity to play football without rules. In 2012, the bomb game FIFA Street from EA was released, which almost interrupted the sales of the main FIFA that year. The game was so great that six years later many people continue to spend time playing it, although it was not released on new generation consoles.

It is assumed that the new modes in FIFA 19 are a step towards those same street football fans. In the new FIFA, you can turn off the referee, play without rules, and also add a fun survival mode. For each goal, a player will be sent off the field. The match will end when seven players remain in one of the teams.

Additional settings for fans of unconventional football will allow you to disable offsides and even headed goals - fire, not innovation. Here PES is definitely far behind.

PES comes out early

The Japanese made a knight's move. All fans of sports simulators are accustomed to the fact that new simulators are usually released in mid-to-late September. PES will be available for download on August 30th. FIFA will be released a month later. The Japanese see this as a strategic advantage. Those who play FIFA will be interested in the new version of PES, tired of old game and, probably, within a month they will become imbued with the competitor’s capabilities.

Another cool feature of PES 2019 is the online mode in the demo version. That is, from August 8 you will be able to start online battles, albeit with a limited number of teams and without Russians.

If you are still on Xbox360 or Play Station 3, then wait for FIFA. PES is only available on new generation consoles. This will allow the Japanese to improve and bring the graphics to an unattainable level. Football players will have a dozen different emotions. The developers do not reveal all the secrets, but it is already known that virtual football players will react much more vividly to their own mistakes.

Playing on consoles is, of course, good, but the main thing is not to forget about real football. Throw down the gamepads and take to the field. Previously, we specially selected ten places in the capital where you can play football.

Go out to play football better prepared, so be sure to familiarize yourself with the best feints that you can perform not only on the joystick, but also in real life.

The struggle between football simulators FIFA and PES dates back to the days of the first PlayStation. For more than two decades, each of these series has amassed a huge number of fans. However, many are still concerned about the question: what is better - PES or FIFA? If you don't know what to choose, in this article we will try to explain which of these games is suitable for whom. We also recommend that you read our separate reviews and.

What's more beautiful?

Visually, both games are at a very high level by the standards of sports simulators. Both Konami and EA are constantly trying to make the movements of football players more realistic, but this year, in our opinion, it turned out a little more beautiful. It's not even about the number of polygons and the smoothness of the picture, but rather about the aesthetics of football.

In FIFA 19, the camera selects the angle more effectively in replays, the faces of the players seem more realistic, and problems such as a boot getting stuck in an opponent’s leg almost never happen. in turn, it also cannot be called an ugly game. The picture is brighter, the colors are more saturated, but not everyone will like this bright-eyed look.

Which football is more realistic?

If we talk about the realism of football, then the PES series has held the championship for a long time. Nothing has changed in 2018. PES 2019 truly allows you to experience the beauty of football.

Each team and even football player play completely differently, have their own tactics, pros and cons. In FIFA 19, everything is more arcade-like with this. Often matches are the same type and do not have such a huge variety in unpredictability of situations as in PES.

Where is the best atmosphere?

First, you need to decide what the atmosphere is for you. If the game of football in the form in which it was invented is important to you, PES 2019 is more interesting. If you want to hear realistic sounds of the stands and like the emblems of top clubs like Real Madrid to be exact copies of their counterparts, then FIFA is for you.

In addition, FIFA 19 has Russian commentators who significantly add atmosphere during matches, talking about the achievements and problems of the players and shouting a drawn-out “Gooooool”. There is no Russian voice acting in PES 2019, and the English commentators do not shine with eloquence.

Which football has more content (modes, clubs, stadiums)?

Here FIFA takes the lead. It has more interesting modes, there is a plot with interesting story about football, but most importantly, almost all famous clubs and stadiums are licensed in FIFA 19. Real Madrid here is Real Madrid, and not some made-up name like in PES.

In addition, FIFA 19 added the Champions League and Europa League, while PES 2019 no longer has them. But in football from Konami, you can recently play for the RFPL, while they decided to remove this league from FIFA.

What's best for beginners?

You can learn to play faster in PES, but learning to defeat strong opponents is easier, oddly enough, in FIFA. The fact is that PES is much deeper in terms of tactics, tricks and individual characteristics than FIFA. This in turn is both a plus and a minus.

If you are not too lazy to sit for hours and study one trick, in the hope of comprehending all its benefits, then you are definitely in the simulator from Konami. If you want to play football without dancing with a tambourine and constantly reading the manual, FIFA is your choice.

Where is the best place online?

Before writing reviews of FIFA 19 and PES 2019, we played 25-30 hours of each of these games on PS4 Pro. To be honest, there were no serious problems with the servers in either game, but there were still some unpleasant problems. In PES 2019, it’s a long search for opponents and slowdowns during matches. It happens rarely, but still.

In FIFA 19, the problem was more common in the interface. For example, we bought a player, then we want to accept him into the team, but then we immediately get a message saying, wait until EA solves its problems with the servers. Oh, how many years have passed, and we still haven’t been able to get rid of these jambs.

As for the online modes specifically, in PES 2019 the main one is MyClub, while in FIFA 19 it’s Ultimate Team. To be honest, Konami has never been able to reach EA's level in this matter. Just look at the transfer menu in FIFA 19, where you can spend dozens of hours on profitable deals and earning coins.

It will be more interesting for professionals to play FIFA, since e-sports tournaments and official championships. In PES 2019 there is much less of all this, and those modes that exist quickly become boring. The co-op alone can provide some fun when playing with friends. Otherwise, this game’s online experience is much inferior to its competitor.

What's the result?

Even though we found more positive aspects specifically in FIFA 19, we cannot unequivocally say that this football simulator is one hundred percent better. Gameplay is important to someone, and therefore they will look towards PES. Someone wants to get maximum content, including the plot, the Champions League, transfers and the most interesting online. In this case, FIFA 19 is more relevant. Be that as it may, both games are good and will appeal to fans virtual football.

The long-awaited 2018 FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 14. And while millionaires are kicking a real ball across the grass, the world of virtual football is also not asleep: FIFA 18 received a large-scale update for the championship, and PES 2018...well, still great in terms of gameplay. Many footsim fans are probably eager to recreate upcoming matches in the game, or even rewrite history with their own hands (for now, this seems to be the only way to lead the Russian national team to victory).

In this material, I have collected tips that will help you enjoy the football fever in FIFA 18 or PES 2018. I will only note that life hacks are intended primarily for players entry level, not footsim masters. But if you are one of those, still don’t pass by! Be sure to sign up in the comments and tell us what tips you would add from yourself.

FIFA 18

Defense - Mission Impossible?

Defending in FIFA 18 is, to put it mildly, more difficult than attacking. Scheme 4-2-2-2 and variations 4-2-3-1 are perfect for practicing playing defensively: such formations create an excellent defensive load in the center, and this makes life much easier.

Having started an attack, do not rush to take the ball, much less rush into a tackle, because the opponent has a huge number of techniques and tricks at his disposal that are not so easy to predict without experience. Therefore, if you are not sure of the success of your selection, it is better to wait for your opponent’s mistake. Combine the jockey technique (L2 (PS4)/LT (Xbox)) and manual controls to close off potential passing lanes so you're more likely to intercept a pass. It is important to maintain constant pressure.

A second AI-controlled player will help you with this (R1/RB): Your teammate will begin to put pressure on the opponent with the ball, allowing you to focus on the interception. The advantage of this technique is that, if necessary, you can switch to your assistant, who is closer to the opponent with the ball, and “rob” the unwary opponent. If a player from the opposing team begins to dig in at the edge of the field, you can calmly go into the tackle with several players and tightly squeeze the opponent.

Attacking in FIFA 18 is indeed much easier than defending. Long shots are our everything!

So, the main thing is to maintain balance, control the passing zones, remember to manually switch between players and not rush to take the ball unnecessarily. Try not to focus too much on the player with the ball, don't press too hard and don't let free opponents run into you. open areas. If you're not confident in your interceptions, don't take risks. “Jockey” is your main trump card.

And practice. A lot of practice.

How to break through to the opponent's goal?

One of the main keys to an effective attack in FIFA 18 is the ability to pass. This, of course, is not only about accuracy, but also the ability to find open players. Low passes have become, one might say, an attacking trend in footsim from E.A., so I'll talk about a few interesting techniques, which will allow you to quickly open your opponent’s defensive redoubts.

The player was greedy, but confidently converted the dangerous chance

Game "to the wall" (L1/LB + low pass) with the first passer running - an excellent technique. But we'll go a little further. Imagine that in our passing equation there are not two, but three variables. The combination is started by the player who will also complete it. Passing occurs according to the 1-2-3-1 scheme: your playmaker makes the first pass and begins to run into the open zone, the second player gives the ball to an available third player, who returns it to the first, and he (in an ideal situation) has already managed to run forward and open up for an assist.

The goal of this approach to combination is to give the first player time to find an advantageous position, open up and shoot at goal. Don't be afraid for your virtual partners and their ability to open up at the right time - they do a good job of it. I note that this tactic is better suited for attacking actions through the center of the field and is applicable to most team formations.

Passing in the center of the field can also be useful when connecting flank players. After a series of effective passes, you notice a teammate running along the edge of the field, pass the ball and begin a flank breakthrough (you can use a sprint with a dash by moving the right stick on the gamepad in the direction the player is moving). Then it’s a matter of little things: you need a competent cross from the flank into the penalty area, where the opponent’s extended defensive redoubts do not have time to cover the oncoming player of your team. A win-win option - especially if you know how to correctly calculate the force of the canopy.

Ozil moves to the center, beats the defender with a roll of the ball and scores a powerful goal

Another method by which you can create an advantage by constantly moving the ball and stretching the defense with this movement on the way to the opponent's goal is the Tiki-Taka style. Due to the gameplay balance of FIFA 18 Spanish technology constant passing is extremely effective here. Yes, this approach may seem boring to some, but constantly moving the ball naturally reduces the density of the opponent's defense (especially impatient ones) and creates open areas for your players. Involve your partners, don’t rush to attack, keep the ball constantly moving and try to use a standard low pass - but without running: otherwise, before you know it, you’ll create a scoring situation for yourself out of the blue.

If you have enough care and patience to perfect this technique, your opponent will hate you.

The best moments of the 2018 World Cup - with BQ

At the World Cup, you always need a smartphone at hand: arrange a meeting at the stadium, take photos with fans of the German national team, post a spectacular goal on Instagram, follow on social networks where Lionel Messi is currently having lunch, watch a live broadcast of the next match or check the results online - with all this a smartphone can handle it easily BQ Universe. For the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Russian company BQ presents a powerful new summer product that is about to go on sale.

Man-made miracles

Anyone familiar with the mechanics of FIFA 18 knows how important feints are in the game. Special techniques allow you to free yourself from annoying guards, bypass defenders and effectively beat the goalkeeper one on one. Right stick of the gamepad - best friend an experienced fifer. However, many beginners avoid feints, because if used incorrectly, they lead to unjustified loss of the ball. The most spectacular tricks require precise calculation of timing, distance to the opponent and direction of movement. But there are also simpler feints that can be learned without much difficulty and can be used no less effectively than the “elastico”, heeling the ball or Zidane’s “snail”.

Neymar leaves his opponents in the cold

A false swing at a shot will allow you to divert the defender, free up space for maneuver, or put the goalkeeper down. To execute it, just press the shot or cross button, and then the regular pass button, tilting the left stick of the gamepad in the desired direction. The optimal direction after a false swing is forty-five degrees from the player’s movement vector. And in a situation where your breakthrough is about to be stopped by a football player from the other team flying at full speed, you can move the ball under you by deflecting the left stick in the opposite direction after the swing. A kind of Cruyff reversal.

Basic roll in action. A useful technique, and most importantly - simple!

The ball roll is another basic feint that is great for creating space and passing opportunities. To roll the ball with your sole, just tilt the right stick on the gamepad diagonally forty-five degrees from the direction the player is moving. This technique fits perfectly with a playstyle built around passing and combining, and also gives room to beat defending players. The main thing is to calculate the distance between the players on the field to make the ball roll as effective as possible.

Getting out of double custody with the help of a movement “under oneself”

We combine different types of rolls to reach a striking position

Another variation of this movement is to roll the ball with the sole under you and move to the side. A similar trick is performed not with the right stick on the gamepad, but by holding R1/RB, after which you need to release the bumper and change the direction of movement by simply tilting the left stick. Yes, the technique is simple, but very effective due to the speed of execution. And the more technical your player is, the faster he moves the ball. A universal feint to get rid of guards or crush simple defenders in the opponent's penalty area.

A heel-to-heel pass can drive a defense into a stupor.

A sharp, high-speed roll from heel to heel will be an excellent means for a daring breakthrough or counterattack. With proper timing, it allows you to bypass defenses without losing speed. To make a similar pirouette, tilt the right stick on the gamepad forward, in the direction the player is moving, and then sharply pull it back in the opposite direction. You can confuse even “live” football players in a network game with such a trick, so don’t forget to practice!

See you!

Fight or flight

And finally, briefly about the blows.

First, try to kick with the football player's working leg.

Secondly, a standard shot is good: to powerfully launch the ball into the top corner of the goal with middle distance, two to two and a half divisions of impact force is enough.

Third, don't forget that aiming at the far corner will significantly reduce the likelihood of the ball going into orbit. By the way, for a low shot, for example, in the penalty area, you just need to charge the shot and then press the corresponding button again.

Long-range shots with force can not only thoroughly stretch the goalkeeper, but also culminate in a wonderful goal!

And one more important tip: do not forget about the aimed strike. Applying a modifier with the strike button R1/RB, you will make a targeted blow with your cheek, and this year it is oh, how effective! In the penalty area this is already clear. But for a targeted hit from beyond it, you should aim at the far corner, kick with your working leg and calculate the force within two to two and a half divisions. The greater the distance, the harder you need to punch (up to three divisions of the impact power scale). If you do everything correctly, you will get a “no-take” curveball into the far corner. Beauty!

After an effective combination, the main thing is to realize the moment. For example, with a precise blow to the cheek

The rest will come with time. Practice set pieces - especially crosses from the corner flag or crosses from a free kick. Hone basic feints, the power of crosses and shots, the ability to penetrate into zones, hold and not lose the ball, as well as patient and technical defense.

PES 2018

Become a football commander

If FIFA is a collection of micro-actions on the field, then PES is a large-scale canvas. And to cope with the macro aspect of Pro Evolution Soccer, you will have to become a real tactician of the football field.

The main tool of any PES player is "Game Plan", a feature sent down by the football gods! A real coaching organizer where you can customize everything from team formation and tactical preparations to the smallest nuances: personal marking, attacking formations, type of defense, tasks and instructions, flexible tactical actions and much more. Similar tools are available in FIFA 18, but its functionality is much more limited.

To properly plan a game on the field, you will have to carefully study the weaknesses and strengths of both your team and the opposing players, and manually adjust the behavior of each player. But if at first this system seems too complex and confusing to you, you can always use ready-made tactics. Although I sincerely recommend understanding the “Game Plan” - you won’t regret it!

You won't pass!

When defending in Pro Evolution Soccer, it is important to remember the following: the fewer options your opponent has to develop an attack through passing, wall play or through ball, the higher the likelihood that you will successfully go on a counter-offensive.

Be patient: don't go overboard with pressing or trying to win the ball early. Any movement towards the attacking player creates space behind you, where a skilled opponent can run without the slightest difficulty. Therefore, remember: interceptions are our everything!

We play according to the classic scheme: we support the pressure with a teammate (punch button) and close possible areas for passing by the active player. If you are confident in your football instincts, you can leave your opponent open for a pass and then try to intercept an obvious pass in their direction. Next Level!

Pass interceptions are your main goal on defense.

Please note that AI football players (especially those with decent performance) high levels Difficulties easily penetrate defensive redoubts, and their heat-seeking strikes almost always hit their target. And here you can’t do without the “Game Plan” settings: assign roles, build defensive tactics and distribute personal custody. This season, defending is difficult not only in FIFA.

PAS 2018

Just like in FIFA, in Pro Evolution Soccer, smart passing is an integral part of an effective attack. Keeping the ball, connecting other players, unsettling the defense are our main goals. Breaking through the concrete wall of defensive formations and getting into the penalty area is not an easy task even with detailed team tactics, so passing the ball correctly is simply necessary.

Through balls are extremely important in Pro Evolution Soccer

Accurate low passes are again the most important tool in the development of any attack. However, the game needs to be sharpened, and here the good old “wall” will help us (L1/LB + low pass > through ball). The player makes a pass and makes a dash forward, freeing himself from guarding, after which he receives a return pass through the ball. The combination can be diversified not just by returning a low pass, but by throwing (L1/LB + low pass > L1/LB + through ball).

Competent passing will help put the player in a killer position

All types of passes on the move, be it a wall play, a simple through ball or a lob throw, are the daily bread for those playing PES 2018. Here they are much more effective than in FIFA 18, and can really lead to scoring chances. The main thing is not to forget about the “radar”, monitor the position of the players, pay attention to teammates running in and joining the attack, and correctly calculate the strength of the passes. Especially awnings.

Flanks, feints, strikes

Don't forget to include fast flank players. If you have everything you need in your arsenal, including a properly structured Game Plan, then breaks along the edge of the field can play a decisive role in creating scoring chances. If there are tall (or bouncy) attackers, feel free to bombard the penalty area with flank crosses and feel free to move to the center if necessary and put the attackers into a striking position using on-ball passes.

Don't be afraid to play on horseback

“Wall” on the flank and an unmarked goal pass

Dribbling in PES 2018 is important, but not as important as in FIFA 18. In this regard, footsim from Konami It’s much more poetic and doesn’t require memorizing feints: to beat your opponent, sometimes it’s enough to competently control the left stick on the gamepad, changing the direction of movement and jerking to the side. Or make do with a false swing at a blow - AI opponents are not shy about tripping over this deception. However, this does not mean that you can forget about the right stick: spectacular tricks and techniques can give you a significant advantage in creating additional space for maneuver, and they will add beauty to your playing style. But, of course, it’s also not worth playing with feints and holding the ball.

A powerful goal into the far bottom corner of the goal. Beauty!

As for strikes, you can forget about cannon shots tearing apart the goal net from thirty meters. Try to get closer to the opponent’s goal, find an advantageous position and don’t ignore special shots: goalkeeper throw (L1/LB + hit) and an accurate strike (R2/RT + hit).

Crossovers are effective in one-on-one situations, as well as in situations where a daring goalkeeper “loses” the goal and goes too far. True, the impact force in this case must be calculated very carefully. And an accurate shot is perfect in a situation where you need to effectively spin the ball close to the far goal post or playfully roll it into the bottom corner, completing an assist. Keep in mind that by using the accuracy modifier you are sacrificing the power of the shot, so at a distance further than fifteen to twenty meters from the goal it is better to forget about it - just hit the ball as hard as you can.

Yes, sometimes right shot can take the goalie by surprise

I hope my tips will be useful. Now is the time to go virtual football fields and play out your own world championship - during breaks between broadcasts of matches, of course.

22.10.2017

It's good to be a fan of online shooters, having a wealth of choice. Life of fans football simulators, compared to fans of other genres, is extremely sad, from year to year they have to choose only between two candidates: FIF or Pro Evolution Soccer. And today we will try to compare the latest and Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 to understand: which is better? And which game is better to play for someone who is trying to play something new, football. We will compare traditionally, on the most important points: graphics, sound, realism, multiplayer and gameplay. For each of the game points they will receive scores on a 10-point scale, and in the final we will add them up and see what we got.

Visual component.

So, graphics. We always meet people by their clothes. Here the situation in short is that there is no subject for dispute. If, for example, the faces of the players in PES 16 were more beautiful than those of the players from FIFA 16, now the situation has changed. And not only with faces. Visually, the game from EA Sports looks clearly richer. Firstly, the menu. In FIFA 18 it is clearly more beautiful, but in PES 18 it looks like hello from the 90s. Especially when it comes to opening command settings. Moreover, the menu in PES has been criticized for years, but Konami seems to be too lazy to change anything.
Anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the football atmosphere, and for this purpose watches pre-match screensavers, will be more immersed in FIF, because in PES everything is spoiled by the rubbery, clumsy faces of football players, even when it comes to superstars. When some non-advanced teams play, the players have typical faces, like the wooden soldiers of Oorfene Deuce. FIFA is also full of generic faces, but they look more interesting.

Or take the same lawn. In PES the field looks, let's be honest, lousy. It's like playing on artificial turf all the time. FIFA had such a lawn about 10 years ago. In FIFA, especially if you zoom in, the lawn is beyond praise. Individual blades of grass are visible. But - oh, miracle - PES 18 has significantly improved appearance stands and spectators on them. Before that, there were identical silhouettes cut out of plywood with a jigsaw, but now everything beyond the field looks like it’s real. Based on the results of comparing the stands and spectators, I will say something terrible: in PES 18 they look better than in FIFA 18, where on the benches you can see the bots dressed in the same uniform and with the same hairstyles.

In general, we get the following: faces, lawn, menu and general view FIFA 18 is better. In PES, only the stands are better, although in general the graphics of the Japanese competitor are not as bad as it might seem.
According to the results of this round, for graphics, FIFA 18 receives 8 points, and PES 18 - 7 points.

Sound component.

What is the first thing the person who launches FIF does? That's right, he turns off the music in the menu, and after a few matches he cuts off the commentators, no matter how good they are. In PES, the music, for me personally, did not cause such rejection, but as for the commentators, they were also turned off.

I liked the sound in PES 18. Naturally, the main sound was in the stadium. The audience reacted very quickly, both to goals and to violations. If you are playing away and make a dangerous tackle, the whole stadium will groan in unison. If the tackle was carried out in violation, the stadium will erupt almost instantly. If the sound was turned up loud at this point, then you will literally become physically uncomfortable.

In FIFA 18, to be honest, the sound has not changed at all compared to the previous version. All the same beach-Papuan songs on the menu, and all the same gasps at the stadium. Not that it was bad, but I didn’t like this marking time. It's obvious that they didn't even try.
Therefore, PES 18 gets 9 points for sound, and FIFA 18 gets 7 points, as stagnant.

Realism.

A very difficult round, which, of course, needs to be sorted out on the field during the game.

So, the first thing that catches your eye in PES 18 is the size of the field. It's really huge. You can feel the dynamics on it. After a pass or hit, the ball flies or rolls for a long time, and it looks beautiful. The large field effect turned out great. In comparison, FIFA 18 - this is the impression - brought us mini-football. If you look at the game, due to the size of the field, PES 18 is very similar to a real match, while FIFA 18 is similar to a computer simulator, albeit a good one, whose task is to provide thrills to players.
But what I didn’t like about PES 18 was the effect of the ball sticking to my feet. It is even visible on the start screen. It is expressed in the fact that when a football player turns, the ball turns behind him, despite the fact that the football player himself does not correct it with his feet. It looks bad, and, frankly, the guys from Konami can be blamed for not bothering to add normal animation.

Goalkeepers in PES 18, oddly enough, began to play more or less adequately. It became difficult to score against them, especially from afar. In FIFA 18 (we are talking about single-player mode), goalkeepers play rather poorly. They were sharply weakened, which is why the computer often began to be driven into the near corner. Yes, that is often the case: almost every second goal against me, performed by artificial intelligence, was in the near corner, which, as they say, is not in any goal.

The next thing I want to talk about is the deterioration of the parameters of football players in PES, depending on their position. If a right midfielder is rated 80, don't expect him to stay at center. Or, for example, if you want to put a forward in the position of an attacking midfielder, you will get -8 points. And so it is everywhere, and this is very good. Such borrowing from football managers has a great effect on realism. But in FIFA they still won’t dare to do this, and, it seems, they will never dare. No matter who you put, the rating will remain the same, which looks unbearably implausible.

Further, in PES 18 I was surprised by the excellent execution of penalties and especially free kicks. Very realistic. Something between the real picture on TV and what it would be like if I myself went out onto the field and shot. There is nothing like this in FIFA.

But PES 18 has a huge disadvantage - problems with licenses, which - alas - greatly spoil this seemingly excellent, realistic simulator. It is enough to take the Russian team. Let’s take and look at the names of the main cast: Sholokhov, Cherchesov, Bondarchuk, Herzen, Kerensky, Privivkova and Tereshkova. Just pure hell. And this is everywhere. Real Madrid is called MD White, Chelsea is called London FC and so on. There is no Bundesliga at all. Everywhere on the opening screens, Neymar is still in Barcelona. All this has a very bad effect on the perception of the football festival, although the Champions League is presented stunningly realistically: the anthem, logos, even animation - everything is aimed at creating the impression of watching a real match on TV.

The results are as follows: PES 18 gets 7 points for realism. Deducted 2 points for licenses. And FIFA 18’s realism is even worse - 6 points, although the licenses are in perfect order, and the electronics engineers have improved the plasticity of the football players’ movements.

Multiplayer.

And another controversial round that is difficult to cover in its entirety.

PES 18 multiplayer is very, very bad. You have to wait for your opponents for 10 minutes, and it’s not a fact that you’ll get there. And when a rival happens, the quality of the connection leaves much to be desired. There is no such problem in FIFA 18. Opponents are easy to find, but the game itself in multiplayer reveals all its arcade essence. The score 7:5 is an ordinary event for FIFA 18. A huge imbalance in the attack, which spoils everything. The goalkeepers do not catch anything, and the attackers score from all positions. Instead of running, it seems like there is roller skating on ice. In general, of all the super-fast and aggressive parts, this is the fastest and most aggressive. Perhaps only children will like this. A person who understands football will not arouse sympathy like this. If we ignore the stupid gameplay distortions, then everything is fine: FUT mode, Seasons mode, a bunch of other modes with challenges. There is nothing like this in PES 18. They still believe that the primitive My Club completely suits the players.

As a result, it turned out that when it comes to multiplayer, we can say about the games that “both are worse.” Therefore, PES 18 - 5 points for the fact that it is, in principle, difficult to find an opponent, and FIFA 18 - 7 points for the fact that at least you can play without a long wait.

Gameplay.

Well, finally, you need to go a little over the gameplay, or interestingness. This is a subjective thing, since one person may be interested in one thing, another – in another. Personally, I liked that FIFA 18 introduced a new tackling mechanics with legs positioned, the players became more flexible and flexible, the graphics were improved a little, and the computer finally learned to attack in different ways, diversifying attacks, and not running to the flanks, as he did this in FIFA 17. Now playing against artificial intelligence is really interesting, although the attacking bias is also felt there. As for the FUT mode, it will be interesting exactly until you hit the first division and upgrade your team to reasonable limits without spending thousands of rubles on donations. The Path to Glory mode - you'll forgive me - personally didn't grab me at all with all its Negro suffering.

In PES 18 I liked the huge field, the feeling of the dynamics of the ball, normal goalkeepers who were no longer extras in the goal, and a great football atmosphere. When the computer scores, there is no feeling that the script has turned on, as happens in FIFA, where you feel the script turning on even before the goal. You see that the opponent started to feint and the ball cannot be taken away from him, which means the system decided that it was necessary to score. This is not the case in PES. But there are extremely realistic free kicks, and some problems with switching players, because after FIFA 18 it always seems like you are switching to the wrong one. Well, until you switch, football players sometimes behave like weak-minded disabled people, whether in FIFA 18 or PES 18, acting completely inappropriate to the situation. And in general, the action is more similar to real football in PES 18, but it also has huge problems with licenses and outdated graphics. In FIFA 18, everything is more arcade-like, but there is a complete set with licenses, plus working multiplayer.

In general, based on the results of this round, PES 18 receives 7 points, and FIFA 18 – 8, because it is the second game that looks more like a modern product of 2017, and not a remake of something from 2015.

Resume.

Well, all that remains is to count. In the final, PES 18, after 5 rounds, in a bitter struggle, receives 35 points, and FIFA 18 – 36. Therefore, the richer and more famous won, but this victory turned out to be minimal, at the level of statistical error, and I personally advised Electronic Arts would have to come to their senses and think about a revolution in the football genre, otherwise the next year Pro Evolution Soccer will definitely be ahead.

EA Sports and Konami are releasing new versions of their popular football simulators: FIFA 18 and PES 2018. Both games are of excellent quality. In this article we have collected the most significant differences between the two simulators. Having understood in more detail, you can easily decide which game is right for you in 2017.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 – Graphics

When creating FIFA 17, the developers switched to the Frostbite engine, thanks to which the game reached a new level in terms of graphics. However, FIFA 18 went even further and several new features completely changed the game. The fans in the stadium are no longer a homogeneous mass, but a collection of people with different reactions to what is happening. This decision greatly influenced the atmosphere at the stadium.

The game also now has a new lighting system and improved shadows, which brings more realism to the game. However, some players still look emotionless.

PES 2017 had great detail on players' faces and other elements, but the game lacked stadium atmosphere. The user interface was also not well designed. It will be interesting to see if the developers will go into more detail into the atmosphere, or if they will once again focus on some key players, stadiums and teams.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 – License Agreements and Rights

As expected, Konami's football simulator lacks the major licensing agreements found in FIFA 18. However, again, the developers have entered into an exclusive agreement with football club Barcelona, which applies to both players and several stadiums.

All major leagues and teams are present in the game, including the Premier League and La Liga; The similarity between the players and their characters in the game exceeds all expectations. As in previous versions of the simulator, FIFA paid a lot of attention to the appearance and behavior of Cristiano Ronaldo, it even went as far as copying and entering data about his movements in the game. While testing the game, we noticed that the developers put a lot of effort into portraying the players with pinpoint accuracy, right down to their individual running style.

At the same time, PES has always had licensing issues, which can turn you off from the game. Judging by the PES 2018 teaser trailer, we can say that the game will again focus on Bercelona. Thus, it is quite expected that the Camp Nou stadium itself, as well as players like Neymar, Messi and Suarez, are recreated almost photorealistically.

PES 2018 will also have exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 – Modes

The biggest advancement we saw in FIFA 2017 was the addition of a single player campaign mode, something that had never been seen before in FIFA 2017. football games. Story mode, in which the user goes through the path of a rising star English league Alex Hunter was greeted with great enthusiasm by users, so it is not surprising that the mode will appear in the game again this year. "The Story: Hunter's Return" mode adds a number of customizable options, the story is more detailed, the user is given more opportunities to make their own decisions, and the ability to leave England and play for a number of other teams has been added.

We know little about others game modes in FIFA 18, but we do know that the Ultimate Team mode will return, which will feature a number of familiar career and tournament options.

As for the PES 2018 modes, the developers have worked in more detail on the myClub, Master League and Career modes. The only drawback that Konami should be ashamed of is that the developers did not dare to borrow the idea and create their own single-player career mode like FIFA's "Stories".

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 – Online

The only mode that EA Sports decided to detail was Ultimate Team. And that's all we know on at the moment. We also know for sure that those football legends that were previously only available on Xbox are now available on PS4 and computer.

PES 2018 now supports online co-op mode with 2v2 and 3v3 player options. This means that you and your friends can play together on the same team. You can play in a one-time tournament or form a team, develop it and take it to the top of a ranking tournament.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 – Gameplay

Improving gameplay has been a key focus of FIFA 18, and even during our short pre-release testing of the game, significant improvements were noticeable.

Thanks to new system animations and body movements, players' skills and movements are smoother, dribbling looks more interesting, and intersections are not as floaty.

Overall, FIFA 18 can be called a comprehensive and more enjoyable version of the game.
In all likelihood, PES 2018 will continue to focus on gameplay, as Konami announced not long ago. Thus, PES 2018 is still intended more for the most serious fans of football simulations.

First impression

Both FIFA 18 and PES 2018 are of excellent quality. Significant improvements are noticeable in graphics, gameplay and mode. Only time will tell which football simulator will win universal recognition this year. This will largely depend on users' personal preferences in what features these games offer.
