Onliner.by - for healthy image life! Therefore, we will dedicate a new cycle of the “secret guest” format to the Minsk swimming pools. Let's visit the most famous of them and tell it like it is. Is it easy to go swimming in the evening on a weekday? How much are the tickets? Where are 8 people crowded on one path, and where is there almost no one? Where is the bottom overgrown with dirty deposits? Our first story is about the former “Labor Reserves”, the swimming pool of the Republican Olympic Training Center for Athletics.

We will confirm availability by phone in advance. At the box office they report: there are 18 single tickets left on free sale for the next evening show, more than 30 for the next show, and more than 50 for the next. There are no problems at all - you can come at any time.

We throw swimming trunks, a hat, and flip-flops into the backpack. Don't forget about the certificate. Most pools today do not require a certificate. But you never know.

By the way, the clinic at your place of residence is unlikely to immediately issue you a certificate. Having looked through the outpatient card, the doctor will probably give directions for blood and urine tests, and send you for an ECG. And he will certainly require fluorography. We'll have to run around the offices. You need to take care of your health - so this is the right thing to do. Well, if you don’t want to be irradiated again, you can go to a private medical center, where they will issue a certificate without any tests for about 40 thousand. They will only ask for a passport and check if there is a rash on the skin.

The pool is located on Kalinovsky, 111 - Zeleny Lug district, the outskirts of Minsk. Get to public transport not very convenient. From the Vostok metro station there are several stops by minibus, bus or trolleybus. Then walk 5 minutes. You can also take the 37th bus through Karbysheva or Kalinovsky streets.

We arrived by car. There was some kind of repair work going on on the back side of the sports complex - it was impossible to get into the parking lot. I had to leave the car along the driveway.

From the inside, the sports complex is somewhat reminiscent of a waiting room at a train station in a provincial town. A TV is broadcasting from the wall. Underneath there are about three dozen plastic chairs. There is a sports store, a kiosk, a cafe and a bistro where they sell pizza, sausage rolls, potato pies, and condensed milk rolls. Nearby there is a kiosk with magazines.

The hall is crowded - noise, running around. Children and older schoolchildren scurry back and forth, rustling with bags of “change.”

The swimming pool of the former “Labor Reserves” is one of the cheapest in the city. A single ticket for a 45-minute session costs 50 thousand rubles. There are swimming pools in Minsk, the cost of which is 2-3 times more expensive. True, it has its own bonuses in the form of a sauna, jacuzzi or hydrotherapy treatments. There is nothing like that here. Swim yourself from wall to wall and that’s it.

Adult passes for the following month go on sale on the 28th and are sold out on a first come, first served basis.

- What if you take a subscription and miss your time?- we are interested.

- You will work off absences on weekends,- answered the woman at the checkout.

However, does it make sense to take a subscription and be tied to specific sessions if there are empty seats in the pool at almost any hour, even in the evenings?

There is a booth at the entrance to the locker room. There, another staff member accepts cash receipts and threads them onto a nail. You don’t have to open the certificate from the clinic - no one here requires it.

We change our shoes in the dressing room (it’s good that we brought bags for shoes) and go to the locker room. There are lockers in two tiers along the perimeter of the room. In the center there are benches in a row and a chipped table.

The storage system is organized in an interesting way. There is a stand with two sections hanging on the wall: free keys on the left, occupied keys on the right. To occupy the locker, you need to take one of the keys in the left section, and before going to the shower, hang it under the desired number in the right side of the section. This way, while you're swimming, the key to your locker remains hanging for everyone to see.

In the locker room there is a watchman in a blue robe - a man over 50 years old. It is very doubtful that he will keep track of all the visitors and remember who changed where. Moreover, the watchman may leave the locker room. During our session, he went to wipe the floors in the pool.

In one of the wall notices, the administration honestly admits that it does not bear any responsibility for the items left behind. It is recommended to hand over anything valuable to the inspector at the entrance.

The janitor's closet is located in the far corner of the locker room.

Old hair dryers.

The showers look a little gloomy. Ugly ventilation pipe, chipped tiles, dirty tile joints. The shower heads are located at a height of approximately 190 cm - it will be uncomfortable for tall people. When all the stalls are occupied and water is gushing onto the floor, a problem with the drainage is discovered.

“Before entering the pool bath, be sure to wash yourself by taking off your swimming trunks,”- says one of the local advertisements. Golden rule. I would also add - wash with soap. Alas, the culture of visiting swimming pools in Minsk leaves much to be desired. Before our eyes, one man walked dry from the locker room straight into the pool.

Children's groups often train in the pool, for which one or more lanes are rented. Boys about 12 years old began fooling around in the shower. They filled rubber caps with water and doused each other.

- What's going on here?- the watchman indicated his presence. - We washed ourselves and changed clothes.

The pool is standard - 25 meters. Six tracks, each 2.5 meters wide. Depth - from 1.2 to 1.8 meters. We go down into the water. Brrr! And this is not a SPA for you. Swim or you'll freeze.

The smell of bleach is almost not noticeable. The water is too cloudy (is it because visitors forget to shower?). Visibility under water is 4 meters, no more. At the bottom, if you look closely, there are lumps of some kind of dust hanging out. That's nothing yet. There have been worse times: about 10 years ago there was a green slimy coating on the tiles.
