The Kenyan team is in second place in terms of the number of medals won. Kenyan athletes managed to win 11 medals - 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze awards. The top three in the medal standings is completed by the South African team. Athletes from South Africa have 6 medals - 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze.
The Russian team performed in London under neutral flag. 19 athletes from Russia took part in the competition. They managed to get individual admission to the tournament. In the medal standings Russian team took 9th place.
In total, athletes from 43 countries won awards at the 2017 World Championships. The next World Athletics Championships will be held in Doha in 2019.

On August 13, Russian Sergei Shirobokov took second place in race walking for 20 kilometers. Previously silver medals also won: Sergei Shubenkov (110-meter hurdles), Daria Klishina (long jump) and Valery Pronkin (hammer throw).
Maria Lasitskene won gold in the high jump.
