Amateur career
Evgeniy’s main success in the amateur ring came in 2011, when he won the World Championship. On the way to victory, Khitrov defeated the Hungarian Zoltan Harcz, and in the final he defeated the Japanese Ryota Murat.
On Olympic Games 2012 controversially lost to local boxer, Briton Anthony Ogogo. The score was 18:18, and Khitrov knocked down Ogogo twice, but when counting the strikes and fouls, the victory was awarded to the Briton.
In June 2013, at the European Boxing Championships, he won bronze medal, controversially losing in the semi-final bout to Irishman Jason Quigley. Evgeniy was much more active than his opponent in the second and third rounds, but the judges again tipped the scales in favor of his opponent, leaving Khitrov with the second scandalous and controversial defeat in his amateur career.
Professional career
In October 2013, Khitrov signed a contract with the American company Fight Promotions and moved to professional boxing. On December 18, 2013, in his debut match, Khitrov knocked out American Christian Nava in the 1st round of an eight-round fight. The fight took place in the second middleweight.
On May 30, 2014, Evgeny Khitrov signed a contract with Iron Mike Productions. At the end of 2014, Khitrov’s contract was bought from Mike Tyson by Lou DiBella’s company DiBella Entertainment.

Evgeniy Khitrov / website
Evgeniy Khitrov- one of the representatives of the brightest generation of Ukrainian boxers, which is conventionally called the generation London 2012. Although Evgeniy was unlucky in London - having arrived in the status of the current world champion in the weight of 75 kg, he ended up with the representative of Great Britain Anthony Ogogo. Behind the scenes of the Games they even said that Zhenya had to be sacrificed in exchange for the loyalty of the judges and the International Federation to the rest of the Ukrainian boxers.
After London, Evgeniy remained an amateur for another year - and received another insult from the controversial judging in amateur boxing. On European Championship 2013 in Minsk in the semi-finals against the Irish Jason Quigley he was left without a victory despite a clear advantage in the second and third rounds.
In the fall of 2013, Khitrov turned professional, moved to America and until the beginning of 2017, changing three promotional companies, with twelve victories. After such a confident career, a painful defeat in a fight with Imanuvel Lim in the fight for the WBC Silver title it was like snowballs for the fans and for the Ukrainian himself.
I don't think. When I started following the news, it was just beginning, about three months ago, I understood that nothing would happen - after all, these boxers are in different types sports McGregor good in the cage, but what will he be like in the ring? To be honest, I really want a fight with Gena, I respect him very much as a boxer and a person. But drawing conclusions from my last fight, I am not yet ready for the fight with Golovkin - I say this openly. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s a win or a loss, I go into the ring to have fun. I want to give a spectacle to the audience. But you still need to have at least 5 fights. I don't want this to be a beating.
How many fights do you want to have this year?
The most ideal option is to have four to five fights a year. But I’ll say right away that after this defeat I will have several incoming fights in order to return to my previous level.

“I had a dream that Joseph Alekseevich was sitting in my house, I was very happy, and I wanted to treat him. And I seem to know that these paintings represent the love affairs of the soul with its lover. And on the pages I seem to see a beautiful image of a girl in transparent clothes and with a transparent body, flying towards the clouds.
