Vyacheslav Nikanorov, Marketing Director of Monster Games, sent a letter to media editors. The document claims that the festival’s partner, the head of the Ice Palace, refused to accept part of the proceeds from ticket sales as rent, and then even demanded a bribe of half a million rubles, threatening that otherwise the show would be disrupted.
Sergei Izotov, against whom serious charges have been brought, explains the situation as follows:
“We signed a contract to hold the festival on April 29, and all mutual conditions were spelled out. However, the day before, on April 28, the rent debt in the amount of 2 million 225 thousand rubles was not paid. It became clear that the event was under threat. In general, in 17 years of my work, this is the second time an event has been canceled. We began to fight for the show to take place. We met with them, I was ready to consider the issue of deferring payments. It was April 28 after 8 pm. We drew up an installment payment schedule, but they did not immediately sign it. And then they started having problems with contractors, and the show fell through.”
The contractors were a security company that demanded payment in advance for security services, as well as Euroshow, which installed the stage, lights and sound for the festival. As Sergei Izotov said, they were also not paid off. The amount owed to these partners is unknown.
As a result, thousands of viewers are unable to get their money back. The parties cannot agree among themselves how the return procedure will be structured. According to the contract, proceeds from tickets sold Ice Palace must be handed over to the organizing company of the “Monster Games”.
Sergei Izotov, director of the Ice Palace: “I am sure that our viewers will not see this money with this decision. The fact is that the festival organizers said that every person who bought a ticket must send an application to Moscow with their bank details, and the money will be returned to their bank cards. I am afraid that viewers will bombard the prosecutor’s office with complaints against us. We suggested that, in order not to spoil the image of the palace, let’s give out money at the cash desk, especially since it hasn’t gone anywhere. But the Moscow organizers want to take the entire amount for themselves. Our lawyers are working on this."
The Ice Palace has already filed a lawsuit against extreme sports enthusiasts in Arbitration Court. The amount of recovery - taking into account the commission for tickets sold, rental of forklifts and the site - is three million sixty-eight thousand fifty-five rubles!
An appeal to the audience was published on the official page of the Monster Games festival https://vk.com/mmrus_monstersgames. The procedure for refunding money for tickets has been established. This is a cumbersome procedure:
“To get a refund for previously purchased tickets for the extreme performance “Monster Games” on April 29, 2017, we ask you to send an email to [email protected] the following information:
1. A copy of the purchased ticket.
2. Last name, first name, patronymic of the individual to whom the refund will be made.
3. TIN of an individual (12 digits).
4. Bank details for transferring funds to the current account of an individual (Bank IK, current account of an individual).
ATTENTION!
1. The organizer returns funds for previously purchased tickets exclusively by bank transfer within 30 days from the date of provision of the required package of documents, transfer only by bank card number, to a mobile phone account, to the accounts of payment systems, cash refunds are not carried out.
2. The organizer returns to the applicant only the face value of the ticket; the procedure for returning the cost of the service fee, agent commission and other commission fees paid by the applicant when purchasing a ticket from a ticket operator or agent is governed by the relevant contractual relationship exclusively between the buyer and the ticket operator.”
Well, the failed organizers assure journalists that the mission of the failed festival is social.
