Pavel Malikov with his wife. Boxer Pavel Malikov: “I am a warrior

Lyubertsy #1. How “Hooligan” knocked out fellow Pacquiao

It was hot in Lyubertsy.

On October 27, in Lyubertsy, near Moscow, the longest-running domestic promotion company, Titov Boxing Promotions, organized a large-scale professional boxing tournament called Lyubertsy #1 for all connoisseurs of the noble art of pugilism. Within its framework, nine pairs of boxers from five countries of the world fought in the ring. The guests of honor of this evening, which took place at the local Triumph Sports Palace, were such famous domestic boxers as Grigory Drozd, Alexey Papin and others.

Showdowns and knockouts

In the main fight of this boxing show, a local, Lyubertsy 32-year-old boxer fought in the ring Pavel Malikov(14-1, 6 KOs) and the 26-year-old, but already very experienced Filipino Ernie Sanchez (19-13-1, 10 KOs). The vacant title of champion of the Eurasian Federation was at stake in their fight professional boxing(EBP) in light weight (up to 61.2 kg). Malikov jokingly calls himself a hooligan, who really liked to fight since childhood and who, having taken up boxing, received the legal opportunity to beat his opponents with impunity.

And his opponent Sanchez lives in the same Philippine city of General Santos City as his superstar compatriot Manny Pacquia O. This Filipino boxer had already boxed in Russian rings three times before, and all three of his trips ended unsuccessfully. Ernie lost to undefeated domestic fighters Muhammadkhudzha Yagubov, Evgeniy Chuprakov and Sergei Lipinets. In this regard, he promised to interrupt this unpleasant tradition at all costs. However, he was again disappointed.

After the competitors entered the ring, the anthems of Russia and the Philippines were played. The boxers spent the opening round in reconnaissance combat. Malikov put pressure, but did not fly forward headlong, urged on by his native audience, although when he hit, he did it hard, investing in the blows. During the break new coach Pavel Andrei Lepikhin told his ward that he had already suppressed his opponent mentally, and now he needed to be suppressed physically. The mentor demanded that Malikov begin to handle the Filipino harshly, focusing on a side blow to the body with his left hand. And it was this blow that soon played a decisive role in the fight.

From the very beginning of the 2nd round, Pavel immediately attacked Sanchez, showering him with a hail of clear and hard blows. And it bore fruit. Malikov managed to “probe” his opponent’s liver in such a way that he clearly felt it. And when it seemed that the Filipino had already recovered from this body punch and even began to counterattack, Malikov launched a combination of four punches, which led to the end of the fight. The first three hits landed on the Filipino’s head, and Malikov finished off with a hard and accurate left blow to the liver. Sanchez twisted on the canvas, burying his head in it, and was counted in this position until a clean knockout.

Thus, Malikov closed the offensive April defeat with a knockout from the Indonesian Daud Yorden, after which he ended up in the hospital with a broken rib and which became his first in the pro ring. And now Pavel again stood on the winning path, starting new way to the top of the world rankings. One of the main upcoming goals for Malikov, according to him, is a rematch with Jordan.

Battle of two “tanks” from Podolsk and Gelendzhik

The co-main fight turned out to be perhaps the most double-edged and spectacular fight of the evening. Two domestic welterweights met in it: 32-year-old Dmitry Mikhailenko(23-4, 10 KOs) from Gelendzhik and 24-year-old native of Ukrainian Kakhovka, Alexander Ivanov (16-4, 8 KOs), living in Podolsk near Moscow.

The more experienced Mikhailenko, who had several fights in America, as well as victories over such well-known fighters in the boxing world as American Kareem Mayfield and Colombian Breidis Prescott, was considered a slight favorite in this intriguing confrontation. Shortly before this tournament, Dmitry admitted that he used to be inclined to often violate the regime, as well as abuse alcohol and drugs, but now all this is a thing of the past. He, like his friend and teammate Pavel Malikov, works under the leadership of Andrei Lepikhin (Mikhailenko has been collaborating with Lepikhin for the past four years).

However, Alexander Ivanov was very serious about the upcoming fight, realizing that a victory over such an opponent as Mikhailenko would seriously increase his reputation and also significantly advance him in the rankings of the main boxing organizations. This fight pitted two fighters of a distinctly strong style. And immediately a fight began in the ring, clinches and mutual overlaps. In general, the opening three minutes turned out to be approximately equal, but Ivanov looked a little better in it.

In the 2nd round there was again an abundance of power struggle, and Ivanov again looked no worse than his more eminent opponent. He worked more often with a hard jab and did not lose to Dmitry in the hustle and bustle at close range. In addition, Mikhailenko also had a decently bleeding cut near his left eye. At the beginning of the 3rd segment of the fight, Mikhailenko tried to force a fight on his opponent, but Ivanov was ready for this and subsequently simply outworked his opponent.

At the beginning of the 4th three-minute period, Ivanov hit him several times so hard that Mikhailenko backed away. However, the seasoned fighter immediately exploded in response and returned the favor to his opponent. Already in this round, both boxers began to show the first signs of fatigue. During the break before the 5th segment of the fight, Honored Trainer of Russia Mark Meltzer told his ward Ivanov that he boxed better than his counterpart at a long distance and therefore asked him to try to work on it all the time. Lepikhin, who also saw this, on the contrary, advised Mikhailenko to reduce the distance and strike counter blows.

In the 6th round the fight continued as before, in which Ivanov looked a little better. In the 7th three-minute round, Alexander decided to take a certain break, apparently to save energy for the final rounds. However, at the end of the round, the opponents again broke into a mutual battle. The 8th segment of the fight was interspersed with clinches and distance work, in which Ivanov appeared in a more favorable light, using his jab more successfully than his counterpart. In the 9th round, Mikhailenko decided to work as number two, pulling his opponent towards himself, but this did not bring him any tangible dividends. Ivanov, on the whole, was again more accurate.

Realizing that he was losing, in the final 10th round Mikhailenko often, unprepared, rushed to attack, but Ivanov calmly continued to meet him with a jab, work intensively on the legs, and when necessary, tie him up in the clinch. The last seconds of the fight passed in a chaotic exchange of blows, which was interspersed with mutual clinches. As a result, all three official side judges naturally gave victory to boxer from the Moscow region Alexander Ivanov, which, naturally, caused approval and joy in the stands.

Matador vs. Dancing Assassin and other undercard fights

In addition to the two main fights of the evening, seven more pairs of boxers were sorting things out in the Lyubertsy ring. In the bantamweight fight preceding the main events, 26-year-old Armenian Narek Abgaryan (11-0, 5 KOs) met with 30-year-old Mexican Efrain Perez (19-11, 14 KOs). Despite the fact that the resident of the capital of Mexico bears the ring nickname Matador, this time his opponent acted as a matador, who also lived up to his boxing nickname of the Dancing Killer.

From the very beginning of the fight, it became clear why Abgaryan managed to gain the right to box Olympic Games 2016. The boxer from Yerevan acted very gracefully, at ease, often with his hands down, sometimes delivering blows simply at choice to an opponent discouraged by his boxing skills. The Mexican simply did not see some of the blows.

Narek's actions were sometimes reminiscent of the spectacular style of the legendary Roy Jones. For the first half of the fight, he did whatever he wanted with his opponent, sportingly mocking him and at times simply being declasseous. Only in the 6th round did Abgaryan relax somewhat and began to flirt, which the Mexican took advantage of, who finally managed to land several accurate hits. However, already in the middle of the next round, Narek became more active and knocked down his opponent with a biting right cross through the arm. The Armenian boxer tried to finish off his opponent, but he steadfastly withstood all his rapid attacks.

In the 8th three-minute round, Perez touched the floor with his glove in one of the episodes, but experienced domestic referee Alexander Kalinkin decided not to count the knockdown, deciding that the fighter had simply lost his balance. As a result, Abgaryan confidently brought the fight to his victory on points, which was unanimously confirmed by the official judges.

The fight between domestic welterweights - 26-year-old Alexander Sharonov (10-3-2, 5 KOs) from Balashikha and 32-year-old Evgeny Nikitin from Sergiev Posad (5-3, 2 KOs) - turned out to be short-term. Sharonov knocked out Nikitin, who looked clearly more athletic than he, with a single left hook. The latter required medical help and spent about five minutes in the ring in supine position until he came to his senses and managed to get to his feet. To the joy of everyone present, Evgeniy eventually managed to leave the ring on his own.

In the fight, which took place in the welterweight division, 28-year-old Chechen boxer Adlan Abdurashidov, who was a member of the Russian team at the 2016 Olympic Games, made his debut at professional ring. His opponent was a native of Russian Orel, 27-year-old Armenian Ruben Movsesyan (26-25-1, 21 KO), who lives in Tbilisi. The latter rushed forward immediately after the starting gong, but Abdurashidov very quickly cooled the attacking ardor of his opponent, constantly shooting him with hard and clear blows from a long distance. And already at the end of the 1st round, Movsesyan refused to continue the fight, citing the fact that he injured his leg while avoiding the attack of the Chechen fighter.

In the lightweight category, the 32-year-old fighter from Balashikha, Roman Andreev (22-0, 16 KOs), hitherto undefeated in the professional ring, inflicted an early defeat on 30-year-old Evgeniy Vazem from Stary Oskol (8-6, 3 KOs). The denouement of the fight came in the 3rd round, when Vazem’s seconds threw a towel into the ring, signaling the surrender of their charge.

In the fight between domestic welterweights, 22-year-old Muscovite Valery Galstyan (4-1, 1 KO) and 18-year-old Vyacheslav Letovaltsev from Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Region (2-0), the latter celebrated a victory by a split decision.

The fight between Russian super heavyweights, 21-year-old Nogai Arslan Yallyev (2-0, 1 KO) living in Moscow and 22-year-old Volgograd resident Oleg Fomichev (2-2, 1 KO), who are new to professional boxing, ended in the victory of the former by unanimous decision. Taking advantage of his significant advantage in linear size, Yallyev tried to act from a long distance, actively working with his jab. Fomichev, on the contrary, tried to shorten the distance and strike while in close proximity to his opponent. As a result, Yallyev turned out to be more effective.

And in the very first fight of the Lyubertsy #1 tournament program, which took place within the featherweight division, 22-year-old Alexander Kuimchidi from Usman (2-1, 1 KO) won by a majority of judges’ votes over 26-year-old Stanislav Predybailo from Grayvoron (2 -3, 1 KO).

Received a sentence for: robbery of mobile phone stores (in Russia), illegal possession firearms(in Norway).

“The son of Svarog, ruler of the Murom forests, from the family of Gray Dogs” will very soon be free. He does not rule out his return to the ring, which is of great interest to martial arts fans, as well as trash fans. What should we expect from him this time? Anything! The experience of watching his fights showed that he can do anything: go drunk into a fight, fight with a referee, fight a fight “without hands”... Actually, because of Vyacheslav’s unpredictable behavior, tournament organizers stopped inviting him to their shows, which may have led to him into the world of crime. We hope that now these same organizers understand that Datsik is gold mine, capable of attracting full houses on a regular basis. Moreover, when Slava was imprisoned, there were only one or two promotions in the country, but now there are about a dozen of them. Someone could use such a famous fighter.

For those unfamiliar with the biography of such a colorful character, here is his brief history:

And here is a typical fight of Vyacheslav:

Alexander Emelianenko

Received a sentence for: rape, kidnapping and damage to documents; There was still a prison sentence, but no one knows why.

One of the three Emelianenko brothers is known far beyond the sports community. Suffice it to recall his fight with a pensioner in a cafe, which was “broadcast” on all federal channels. There is a suspicion that after his release, Alexander will not have problems with the professional organization of fights. And if they do, he can easily organize a couple for himself.

Funny prank with Alexander:

Alexander's legendary return to M-1:

Rasul Mirzaev

He received a sentence for: murder by negligence.

Perhaps this is one of those few cases when a crime turned a strong athlete into an all-Russian star. Of course, everyone approaches such fame differently (most still condemn him), but this does not prevent Rasul from building a successful career and being considered a rising star mixed martial arts.

Vladimir "Lumberjack" Tyurin

Got a sentence for: drug possession.

Once upon a time he was the star of fights on the Arbat, became the world and European champion in kickboxing and often appeared on TV. And suddenly it disappeared... No year, two, three, seven! Everyone had already forgotten about him, when suddenly “The Lumberjack” appears on the Fight Nights show, where he fights according to the rules of mixed martial arts. The fans, of course, were delighted with such a comeback, but they never received a normal answer to the question of where their favorite fighter was missing: neither the commentators of the fight, nor Vladimir himself talked about the reasons for the absence. And no wonder! Who wants to remember how he and his accomplices were detained with five kilograms of heroin?

“It was like I had a seven-year break”:

One of the legendary battles on Arbat:

Roman Romanchuk

Received a sentence for: causing death by negligence (initially found guilty of murder by exceeding the limits of necessary defense).

One of the most technical amateur boxers for a long time former first number of the national team in the first heavyweight, unexpectedly for everyone he ended up behind bars. It was early in the morning in Vladivostok. Romanchuk was leaving the cafe and saw a young man with a pistol in his hand. This guy recognized the boxer, began to be rude to him, and then decided to shoot him in the head. A rubber (fortunately) bullet hit Roman in the head and fatal outcome didn't bring it. Romanchuk leaned on the assailant who turned away, but he fired another shot and... killed himself.

Broadcast about the case in Vladivostok:

Roman's fight sequence:

Albert Guchigov

Received a sentence for: illegal possession of weapons or ammunition, arbitrariness.

The former member of the USSR national team and one of the pioneers of professional boxing in Russia went to prison more than once. The first time this happened was in 2001. Then he was suspected of organizing a terrorist attack, and during a search they even found 160 grams of plastid on him, but Albert’s involvement was not proven, so he was imprisoned only for illegal possession of weapons or ammunition. The second time - in 2010: he was threatened with a prison term for extorting 80 million from an entrepreneur, but in the end he was imprisoned for arbitrariness. It’s difficult to say how long Guchigov ended up serving (if at all), but now he is free and attends pretentious programs on Chechen television.

Albert Guchigov visiting “Studio 94” (Chechen version of “Evening Urgant”):

Sergey Shigashev

He received a sentence for: intentionally causing grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of the victim through negligence.

On the night of December 18-19, 2010, the vice-champion of Russia in boxing loudly relaxed with friends in one of the nightclubs in Elektrostal. The club administrator approached the group and asked the guys to be quiet, to which they beat him - the man died on the spot. The court sentenced the fighter to six years in prison, which he served honestly, and upon returning to freedom, he became a professional boxer. Now he has 2 fights - 2 victories (by the way, both fights were broadcast on the federal channel).

Pavel Malikov

Got a sentence for: criminal conspiracy.

Now Pavel Malikov is successful professional boxer, Russian champion among professionals, whom he trains famous trainer Roman Karmazin ( former champion world middleweight according to IBF). But what was his life like before professional boxing? Let us quote the Lyubertsy city portal lubernet.ru:

“It all happened in August 2009. On the 28th, at approximately half past ten in the evening, the organizer of the future skirmish, Ruslan Kirillov, entered into a criminal conspiracy with Pavel Malikov and Nikolai Galitsky in order to take possession of the money of Sergei Yuryevich Nechesa, who had arrived from Ulyanovsk. Acting together and in concert, Kirillov, Malikov and Galitsky distributed roles among themselves in advance and agreed to commit criminal acts against their victim. At the same time, Kirillov suggested that Galitsky invite Sergei Neches to apartment 68 of building 4 on Mitrofanova Street. The unsuspecting Nechesa arrived at the appointed time.

From the material of the investigative department of the city of Lyubertsy of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee Russian Federation in the Moscow region:

“Kirillov R.N. to intimidate Neches S.Yu. punched him twice right hand to the region chest and one punch to the face with the right hand, causing him physical pain and suffering. After which Malikov and Kirillov, being in the room where Nechesa was, demanded from Nechesa S.Yu. transmission to them through N.A. Galitsky. half of his monthly salary, which is 15,000 rubles.”

Without wasting time, Sergei Nechesa turned to his friends from the city of Shchelkov for help. So, on September 1, 2009, at about half past eight in the evening, two gangs clashed with each other on Mitrofanova Street: Lyubertsy and Shchelkovsky. In front of numerous passers-by and people living in the neighborhood, a shootout took place. Not only the main persons of the mess took part in it, but also ten more unidentified persons from Fedotov’s side, who gathered the people to help Kirillov. Ten traumatic self-loading pistols and one hunting self-loading pistol were used smoothbore carbine“Saiga-410” (subsequently 55 cartridges were found at the scene). One person died because of 15 thousand rubles; Nechesa’s other friends, including the victim of a high-profile case, were injured.”

The fight of Pavel Malikov, from whose tattoos it is immediately clear about his prison past:

Maksimov brothers

Received time for: robbery of three jewelry stores (one of the brothers had previously been charged with robbery, the second with robbery and assault on a government official).

Both brothers were remembered by the boxing public for their fights in Tough Fight tournaments (12-minute survival fights), and by jewelers for a series of well-thought-out robberies. These guys came to the capital three times specifically to raid stores, and after the crime they returned to the city of Miass. This is how the guys approached things professionally:

(8-0, 2 KOs) will enter the ring on November 18 in Yekaterinburg as part of a boxing evening organized by the promotion company Titov Boxing Promotions. The 30-year-old native of Lyubertsy will make the first defense of his WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver title against his strong Filipino peer Carlo Magali (20-8-3, 10 KOs). Pavel Malikov, who already fought in the Central Ural capital in July of this year in the same show with Sergey Kovalev himself, shared his opinion about his counterpart, talked about preparing for the fight and how he prepares for the fight, and also told what the public can expect from him 18 November.

- When did you start boxing and why did you choose boxing?

He started boxing at the age of fourteen. At first I liked it, then I got involved.

- How would you characterize yourself as a boxer based on your fighting style? Which ring style do you prefer?

I have an aggressive style of fighting, and I act as a tempo fighter.

- Does it matter to you whether you perform in front of a full hall or in front of half-empty stands?

For me it doesn’t matter, first of all I prove to myself that I am stronger than my opponent.

- How important is public support for you?

The public's support is very important.

How do you prepare yourself for the upcoming fight on fight day? Maybe there are any special rituals or signs before entering the ring?

Before the fight I go to church.

Your opinion about the duel of glances after the weigh-in - is it just a formality or can this duel be won or lost psychologically even before the fight?

It doesn't make any difference to me.

- How did you get to Titov?BoxingPromotions?

Alexey Titov noticed me. He was impressed by my fight (for the title of Russian champion in lightweight February 22 in Sochi - approx. ed) and offered cooperation - that’s how I ended up at Titov Boxing Promotions.

- What can you say about the atmosphere in the new team and the relationship with the new promoter?

The new team is very cool, all the guys are great as boxers and as people. With my promoter too good relationship. Everything is going smoothly and well.

You were at training camps in Kyrgyzstan, now you are training in Yekaterinburg. How has it changed? training process compared to Moscow?

In Kyrgyzstan, the training camp was completed one hundred percent. I feel better than ever. Now my training process has increased and I have two or three training sessions a day. You can say that I live by boxing - and this is the most important thing for me. The guys in Yekaterinburg give their all, and this motivates me in preparation for November 18th. So, my life has changed for the better!

- What do you know about your upcoming opponent and have you seen him in action?

I don’t know anything in particular, but I saw him in the ring, and I’ll decide everything there.

- What did you note most about the Filipino’s manner?

I saw a lot of things and I will do everything to beat him.

In your last fight you won ahead of schedule against a persistent opponent - will you strive to win by knockout this time too or are you counting on going the full distance?

I won’t make any guesses - everything will be visible in battle.

Have a good and entertaining fight.

- How do you think – when will you be ready to fight for the world title?

Everything has its time.

Robbery, illegal possession of weapons, negligent homicide, rape, drug possession... Oh sports, you are the criminal world!

The conflict related to the Central Bank's claims against structures affiliated with the famous Chelyabinsk businessman Dmitry Karabintsev and his partner, former deputy governor of the region Alexey Ovakimyan, may receive new development in the near future, experts believe. We are talking not only about the Central Bank inspection materials transferred to law enforcement agencies, but also about possible next audits of the regulator and financial monitoring. Thus, in Chelyabinsk, potential stakeholders in the schemes are now being actively discussed at the auction, and the names of current deputies of the City Duma and Legislative Assembly of the region, as well as large businessmen, are coming up in discussions. Special attention in the conflict may also be paid to issuers whose securities were used in manipulation and could be “accelerated” purposefully. Experts agree that control will only become stricter, and observers believe that so far the Central Bank has announced only a part of the possible violations.

The inaction of municipal officials in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug risks ending up in the center of attention of the federal curators of the improvement project. The raid of public activists on urban environment objects once again made the topic of dangerous playgrounds one of the top on the critical agenda of the ONF. First of all, the activists’ interest concerned the largest municipalities of Ugra – Surgut and Nefteyugansk. And in the administrative center of the region, Khanty-Mansiysk, according to experts, problems that have already become systemic require analysis by the central headquarters of the Popular Front. At the same time, the publication’s interlocutors note that the failures of city officials in creating a comfortable urban environment have repeatedly become the reason for public criticism of the mayor and his team from residents. According to observers, Mayor Maxim Ryashin’s attempt to distance himself from problems forced active citizens to draw the attention of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug Governor Natalya Komarova and law enforcement agencies to their problems.

The disruption of road work in Chelyabinsk today became the reason for another high-profile resignation - the head of the region, Alexey Teksler, strongly recommended the dismissal of the head of the road management department of the Chelyabinsk mayor's office, Alexander Shabalin. At the same time, the order was given to the deputy head of the city, Natalya Kotova, which experts associate with the obvious increase in the latter’s political weight. Analysts emphasize that at the moment Texler is forced to take extreme measures due to the neglect of the situation, including in the field of road construction. Today, the head of the region personally studied the problems of this industry, making it clear to both local officials and road workers that there will be no more monopolization of the market with the participation of Yuzhuralmost. And Chelyabinsk, which is investing 5 billion rubles in its road network, will have to start a new policy in the field of road construction. Although first it will be necessary to deal with a whole tangle of problems, including managerial ones.

The Sverdlovsk organization of the All-Russian Society of the Blind (VOS) is asking for tax benefits and a government procurement system from specialized enterprises for people with disabilities. Companies face problems in marketing their products and find themselves uncompetitive when participating in government procurement. Representatives of the organization assess the prospects for development in such a situation with extreme restraint, noting the lack of opportunity to employ people with disabilities from remote settlements. In the whole region, according to the Pension Fund, 22 out of 87 thousand disabled people who can be provided with jobs are officially employed. Enterprises often refuse to hire disabled people due to the additional costs of organizing workplaces. At the same time, deputies of the regional Duma and social activists emphasize the need to support specialized enterprises, but the decision on the issue of tax benefits is being transferred to the federal level. Meanwhile, companies are forced to switch to crisis management.

Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov answered questions from the population of the autonomy in a live stream format. The main topics of dialogue with residents were social problems, primarily the rate of resettlement of emergency housing, water supply, construction and development of the road transport network, as well as landscaping. And although the head of the region, according to the agency’s interlocutors, showed awareness of the current situation, in most cases Dmitry Artyukhov’s interlocutors did not receive specific answers. As a rule, the head of the district recognized the acute nature of the problems, and also noted that he was “tired of making promises,” and the politician’s reaction to the most pressing issues should be regarded as such. However, analysts emphasize that Dmitry Artyukhov is now forced to bear responsibility for the actions of not only his own team, but also for the large-scale mistakes of the previous leadership led by Dmitry Kobylkin, being to a certain extent their hostage. However, requests to improve the standard of living of Yamal residents are becoming more and more persistent, and if the head of the region continues the practice of communicating online, in the future he will have to prepare for a much more intense discussion and impartial assessments of his interlocutors in person.
