UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul is a well-known powerful modification for improving companions. Its key features are expanding the functionality of interaction with partners, as well as training them in horse riding and increasing their permissible number.

What the mod brings:
- Increases maximum quantity satellites up to 15! (does not include quest characters)
- The ability to both put and remove the Essential (immortal) mark from a character, so that even Dovahkiin will not be able to accidentally kill a companion.

SAFE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

Hello guys. My first post asking a (potentially) dumb question instead of trying to answer one. I am in the process of rebuilding Skyrim and I am torn between which follower mod to use; Ultimate Follower Overhaul or Amazing Follower Tweaks (I am assuming that they can"t be used together, can they?).

I was using UFO, and I did try AFT for a while, but I can"t remember why I stopped using AFT. It may have been because UFO is more popular and more modders say their follower mods work best with UFO.

So, here is the second part of my question (and, yes, I could go off and find this out for myself, but I was thinking that maybe others may be wondering about these two mods themselves so I decided to post): are there male followers that were created to work with AFT? They list followers in the AFT mod description but they are all female, except for the patch that lets AFT work with the 3D NCP (Interesting NCPs) mod.

- EFF with Dawnguard DLC is not recommended. However, if you are not using Dawnguard (and thus don"t have Serana in your company), then EFF is probably the fastest and easiest to use. If really you want to use EFF with Serana, be sure to grap 4.0 Alpha version instead of the current stable one.

I have EFF 3.5.6 and I don"t have any issues with Serana as my follower. I finished the Dawnguard quest line a while back and have had her ever since. She"s currently dismissed and at home in a home mod though since I"m doing the Thieves" Guild quests.

I haven't read or faced any similar silly things from 4.0 Alpha, but I rather wait for the author to finish EFF, before I move in to it.

Serana's AI is not fully compatible with it. These problems are mostly related to certain type mods - especially homes and clothing - and may not appear at all in another way modded playtrough.

However, other kind of playtroughs may end up Serana running around naked and attacking against you, in the middle of a battle. Repeatedly. She calms down, puts her clothes on and... dragon attacks, she strips and attacks against the player character.

I have interesting screenshots in my HD. I can"t share them in Steam, because I never bothered to install underwear options with CBBE. In these picture, our undead friend is running against me, completely naked in a middle of a glacier and shooting her forst spells at me, while dragon is shouting fire behind us.

Odd. And it"s been definitely confirmed that the issue is with EFF, and can be reproduced with vanilla Dawnguard and EFF, and not an incompatiblity with another mod? I"m not seeing any of that.

I did a pretty good test runs with EFF and Serana. I am quite aware that EFF actually has a lot of common with Serana's AI, but that was also part of the problem.

It just occurs to me - now that I am thinking it again after all these months - that I may have overlooked something there. I will have to download EFF, play to Serana and see if I what I now suspect is true.

In short, forget everything I wrote above about EFF -for now. I try not to talk about something that I am not sure of, and I don"t have a problem to admit that I might have been wrong in this - if that indeed was the case.

Let us know how the experiment goes. :) I might have to switch to MO soon for those separate game profiles. >_<

Serana is unique in that she has her own little follower system. Tacking her out of this system and or modifing it can and usually does brake the dawngurd quests.

This is exactly how I have understood the situation. Serana's AI is different from other followers. You should manage her with spell in AFT and tracking her with EFF kind of leads to a double tracking during Dawnguard questline, because it is already done. How bad the problem gets (or does not get) seems to be related what types of mods you have in your load order.

What I may have overlooked was what caused her occasional aggression in my game. I am almost sure that Serana"s unique AI contributed to that, but reasons may not be the ones I was after - meaning not entirely (or all) EFF"s fault.

MO is quite handy. when you get a hang of it. Gopher is doing pretty good tutorial series about it. I was already using MO, but learned few extra things from them. :)

Edit: I forgot to add, that all the problems I have read and experienced are related to Dawnguard questline. Serana should be safe to manage with what ever mod you have, once DG is done.
