Radio-controlled car racing competition. Radio-controlled car racing, car sports and car modeling, radio-controlled car competitions

For the second year in a row, the glorious village of Agalatovo near St. Petersburg is hosting the national championship. This year there are not many participants, but nevertheless 57 people are registered. The competition will be held over three days from February 27 to March 1.

The configuration of the route is no different from last year. Fences have been added and the marking color has been changed. Video broadcast is carried out on two screens, in the hall and in the boxes. Improved audio broadcast. Wi-Fi network has been launched.

On Friday, members of the SPbKAM club jointly prepared the track for the race. The carpet rolls are glued to the floor with double-sided tape - no more accidental slips on the tape, the ride is very pleasant.

Drivers from Tyumen, Yekaterinburg (Samoilenko, Zolotavin, Piskunov), Moscow (Lopukhin) and Elektrostal (Nedryanko) arrived for free training. Unfortunately, Ilya Shupik’s trip was canceled at the last moment. The pilots all had several hours to get used to the track and select the basic settings.

Artem Lopukhin immediately “took the bull by the horns” and after 3 batteries showed a lap of 11.5 seconds. This is almost a record level for athletes from St. Petersburg, for whom the track is home.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to post photos and videos yet. I hope I can do it on Saturday and Sunday.

So, everything is ready for the next Russian Championship. Key to start!

“Moscow’s main escape forces have arrived.” The opening ceremony took place with a general formation. According to the schedule, 2 training sessions and 4 qualifications were planned for Saturday.

Three teams take part in the team competition: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tyumen. In the DTM-10 classes, pairs of leaders immediately stood out. In the first case it is Laptev-Lopukhin, in the second Trofimov-Egorov.

In general, the atmosphere at the competition is very calm and friendly. There are no major deviations from the schedule, everything is clear and according to plan. Lunch at a local canteen was a pleasant surprise =)

Ryzhenov Alexander was able to get ahead of Sergei and reach fourth position and rushes in pursuit of Zolotavin. Zolotavin makes a mistake and Ryzhenov is already within a second, even closer, there is an attack, contact. Zolotavin is still ahead and is moving into the lead. Finish.

RCE-12 Final A-2

The second ending was not captured on video. Ivan Laptev failed to finish, which allowed Anatoly Nedryanko to win the race.

RCE-12 Final A-3

Our guests from Tyumen and Yekaterinburg rushed to catch the train, so only 4 models took part in the race. From the first turns of the race, it became clear that Anatoly did not intend to give up the victory. He managed to stay close to Ivan, sometimes even coming within attacking distance. Perhaps it was this fact that confused Laptev. Ivan made a mistake, Anatoly is in the lead, but he immediately makes a mistake and lets Ivan back. Ivan begins to drive away, but makes a mistake again. This time the blow was serious - the model could not stand it. Gathering Anatoly brought the race to victory and became the new champion of Russia!

Kirill Trofimov goes into the lead. Alexey regains second place. Vodnev is mistaken and allows Petrov to feel fifth. Their struggle continues for several circles. Yuri finishes the job. And Vodnev also lets Chepizhny through. A number of Gumenyuk’s mistakes lead to Petrov moving up to 4th position. The leader makes a mistake, the marshal puts him on the wrong side. Alexey Egorov is in the lead, followed by Ryzhenov and Trofimov. Kirill goes around Alexander.

DTM-10 Standard Final A-2

Trofimov makes a mistake on the first lap and falls back to 6th place. Massive collapse when entering the straight line. Ryzhenov is in the lead. Kirill makes his way up. A series of removals Petrov-Gumenyuk-Chepizhny. Krugovoi helps Trofimov get around Egorov and take 2nd place. Gumenyuk beats Vodnev in the fight for fourth place. Trofimov gets Ryzhenov and goes around him in the straight line. Alexander makes several attempts to regain the position, but is mistaken. Vodnev mistakenly lets Petrov “circle” and loses position.

DTM-10 Standard Final A-3

In this final the fate of first place was decided. Petrov passes Gumenyuk at the start. Egorov takes the lead, but Trofimov can’t reach him. Alexey makes a mistake exiting the chicane and loses the lead. Trofimov flips over on the pancake, but gets back on his wheels and continues the race as a leader. During the next roundabout, Kirill crashes into it, Egorov rolls up, there is a side-to-side fight, Egorov’s model flies off the track.

Final three in the DTM-10 Standard class

Starting grid for finals A in class DTM-10:

1. Laptev
2. Lopukhin
3. Karpov
4. Trofimov
5. Naumov
6. Egorov

DTM-10 Final A-1

In the first final, Ivan Laptev immediately picked up a high pace and began to break away from his opponents. Artem Lopukhin kept a short distance. Trofimov began to put pressure on Karpov, but was mistaken. Naumov took advantage of this and actively competed for 4th place. Still, Kirill turned out to be stronger and began to tackle Vitaly again, but the race did not last forever, Karpov retained 3rd position.

DTM-10 Final A-2

The second final began with a clash between Egorov and Naumov in the fight for 5th place. The top four gradually stretched out, but suddenly Trofimov, as in the first final, began to actively press Karpov. The outcome of this confrontation was decided by a collision with a roundabout, which Kirill miraculously avoided and slipped past. Vitaly, in an attempt to catch up with his opponent, made a mistake in turning onto the straight. Meanwhile, Lopukhin turned over on the pancake and let Laptev go even further. Finish. Ivan Laptev is the champion of Russia 2009. The fate of second and third place was decided in the last third final...

DTM-10 Final A-3

The first three immediately went into the lead. In the fight, Egorov knocked Naumov onto the opposite part of the track, right onto the trajectory in the fastest section of the track. Ivan Laptev was unlucky - he flew into Alexander's model at full speed and broke the suspension. Vitaly Karpov did not let go of Artem, but behind them there was a “showdown” for third position. Kirill Trofimov emerged victorious and began to quickly drive away. In the fourth minute, the careless marshal is “substituted” for Artyom’s model, a terrible blow to the leg. Artem still manages to retain the lead, but Vitaly is already “breathing down his back” and longs for the final second place. Artem makes a mistake after a diagonal, Vitaly takes the lead! There is a tight fight and contact. Lopukhin bumps into the rail, Karpov manages to continue moving. 30 seconds to finish. Karpov makes a mistake and turns over. Artyom rushes past, and right there Kirill Trofimov! An attempt to overtake, contact and Kirill remains standing in the rail. That's how the ending ended.

How to choose a car for racing?

Essentially, all radio-controlled cars can be divided into two types, regardless of scale and engine. There are road cars and SUVs. Road models and off-road buggies are suitable for racing.

Next point - this is the scale. The type of engine installed in it depends on the scale of your machine. Models 1:8 – 1:24 are perfect for professional racing, because they are equipped with a priori more powerful engines and, accordingly, the speeds will be higher.

Assembled model or ready to race? You can understand which model you see in front of you by the abbreviations on English. ARR – “almost ready to run”. KIT – prefabricated kit. We recommend assembly models for those who have long been addicted to racing on radio-controlled cars buggy. For beginners and those who don’t want to sweat, we recommend ARR models.

ICE or electric? You need to understand one simple point. For RC car racing electric motors have one important point. You've driven for 15-30 minutes on the highway and your model needs to be charged. You need to have a few batteries in stock for replacement. Recharging the electric motor is easy enough, just replace the battery and continue racing. ICE engines are considered slightly more powerful, but the main distinctive feature they are from electric, is that you use fuel, this gives you the chance to plunge into the atmosphere of driving headlong and feel like a real auto mechanic. Choose what is closest to you.

What else to pay attention to to choose a buggy for racing?

Engine power and speed. Look at these two parameters, consult with specialists before purchasing and clarify which maximum speed can develop your car. Is it possible to increase the maximum speed in your model due to additional gadgets? Check all these points.
