Family of Evgeny Kuznetsov

Wife - Anastasia Zinovieva (marriage since June 3, 2011);
Daughter - Yesenia (born May 25, 2015).
Son - Fedor (born June 3, 2019).

The life of the current Washington star Evgeny Kuznetsov is similar to the fairy tale about hockey Cinderella. He started playing hockey at ChTZ, and now he has won the Stanley Cup in Las Vegas.

"I'm from ChTZ, I have nothing to fear"

Nowadays you can’t drive in the parking lots of hockey schools without fear of hitting some very expensive car. Very young boys are brought in Land Rovers and other wonders of the foreign automobile industry. You can't get into the school building because of the crowds of parents, and at tournaments they support their children so emotionally, as if they were losing in the World Cup finals, and give them as many instructions as certified specialists. But you can also understand them: they invest a lot of money in their child’s hockey education - equipment, tournaments, training camps, training sessions... As well as their own strength, time, emotions and nerves. Of course, they expect their dreams to come true and the child to become a star.

Evgeny Kuznetsov is probably one of the last who grew up on the streets, who was never forced to play hockey and in whom his parents did not invest a lot of money. By definition, a simple boy from a disadvantaged family from the Traktorozavodsky district of the city of Chelyabinsk (ChTZ) was unlikely to have a great future. The courtyards on Savina Street, where the Traktor school is located, still cause concern, especially in the evening and at night.

In the neighboring yard with Kuznetsov lived the famous boxer Sergei Kovalev (although he, of course, will be older), who in his interviews talks in vivid colors about a very difficult childhood in this area. Kovalev also played hockey, but his uniform was stolen, and there was no financial opportunity to buy a new one. Not long ago in the USA, he met with Washington players: Kovalev and Kuznetsov are from the same district of ChTZ, Orlov is from Novokuznetsk, and Ovechkin, a Muscovite from a famous sports family, stands out. Until recently, sport was a social elevator, a real opportunity to become one of the people, to rise high for those who were born “from a low start.” Now, unfortunately, such guys have little chance.

“Anyway, I won’t tell you on camera how everything really was, how my childhood went. You can choose an actor, but it’s very difficult to convey to him how everything really was. You can’t say much,” said Kuznetsov himself . “I’m with ChTZ, I have nothing to be afraid of,” the hockey player likes to repeat for good reason.

On ice 8-10 hours a day

Kuznetsov’s father taught him the basics of hockey, and then the time would come for the future hockey player to spend virtually no time on the ice at the Traktor school. Fortunately, he lived 50 meters from the LDS, only popping home for lunch. Kuznetsov himself recalled that he trained eight to ten hours a day, begging to ride with other teams, including amateur ones, bribing security guards, etc. If it was impossible to shoot the puck on the ice, he did it in the hall of the sports palace. Kuznetsov could have been allowed in even at night by turning on the lights. He practically did not communicate with his peers, but tried to learn from older players born in 1984 - 1988, for example, Alexander Semin.

“Here’s my schedule: I remember it clearly, because it was repeated day after day,” said Evgeny Kuznetsov for The Players Tribune, “I woke up at 7 in the morning. I went to school for about five hours. I thought about hockey all morning. Not I could concentrate on my classes. I wanted to start skating as soon as possible. I ran as fast as I could from the school to the ice rink. I lived 30 seconds away from the ice palace. I could get there in 10 seconds with my bag and food. . She cooked amazingly. I ate like a terribly hungry person, as quickly as I could. I couldn’t wait to go on the ice. I skated with my team, and then with the guys a year older... We didn’t have it in Russia. Christmas holidays, but there were New Year’s holidays: from December 31 to January 3, everything was closed. Even the hockey school was the worst days of my life, I couldn’t even sleep.”

At the age of 12, Evgeny Kuznetsov went to Omsk (there were very difficult times at the Traktor school), but returned six months later. As he himself reported, because of a conflict with the coach: “The coach didn’t like him. He didn’t like visitors. He was tough.” The local coach even stated that Evgeny Kuznetsov would not be able to become a professional player. However, the short Omsk period was remembered thanks to an excellent film about a young hockey player, made by Canadians. Journalists from North America already spotted the future star and went to distant Siberia. There, the family also talks about the tragic death of Zhenya’s older brother - something that will not be talked about anymore.

In the hands of Valery Belousov

Despite offers from other cities, the Kuznetsov family decided to stay in Chelyabinsk and did absolutely the right thing. “Traktor”, after a long time, returned to the elite and great hockey life began in the city again. Kuznetsov became famous long before leaving school, then he began to be recruited to teams of different ages. And in November 2009, Andrei Nazarov attracted him to Traktor.

He has four more seasons ahead of him in the KHL with his native team, where he will be destined to become the main star and one of the most recognizable people in the city. The word “Kuzya” (as well as the number “92”) acquired a magical meaning - and not only among the numerous boys who ran in droves after the Traktor forward, but even among housewives and grandmothers who occasionally watched hockey on TV. Everyone knew his cars, be it the Porsche Cayenne or the recognizable blue sports Audi. It is no coincidence that even Kuznetsov celebrated his wedding on a city scale - right at his favorite Traktor arena. And his famous jokes ("farto-ass", "selling a garage" or "folding bed from Khabarovsk") turned out to be known throughout Russia.

Evgeny Kuznetsov was lucky that he fell into the hands of Valery Belousov. It was this outstanding coach who instilled that “Russian hockey” that the Washington forward likes to talk about to the overseas press: “It only works when all five players work together perfectly. If a hockey player enters the zone and shoots from the blue line without trying to make a pass, that means , he doesn’t respect his teammates. At Traktor, the head coach could put you on the bench if you just throw the puck into the zone, and you’ll never be allowed to play hockey again.” Valery Konstantinovich placed him in the team that later became famous with the craftsmen Stanislav Chistov and Jan Bulis. Belousov is the last coach in the KHL who worked in the best traditions of the Soviet school. And there are practically no players left in the league who fit this style...

From ChTZ to the Stanley Cup

But, as the famous agent Alexey Dementyev accurately said, Kuznetsov is “a clear example of a person who was first loved to death, and then began to be scolded.” After a silver season, the best in the history of Chelyabinsk hockey, “Traktor” began to fail. It’s better not to remember the 2013/14 KHL Championship at all for many reasons. Evgeny Kuznetsov, who began to be criticized, was also not doing well. Disgruntled fans began to vent their anger, even scratching his car. Many were annoyed by the fact that his jersey as a world champion had already been hung under the arches of the Traktor arena (by the way, the jerseys of Evgeny Medvedev, Danis Zaripov and Alexander Semin were also hanging there - thank God, they were later removed). And the governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Mikhail Yurevich, admitted that the forward was retained thanks to the most serious contract in the club.

Everything said that Kuznetsov had already spent too much time in the KHL and it was time to go overseas. Despite the fact that Washington showed very great interest. It was not for nothing that the then head coach Adam Oates personally came to Chelyabinsk to see the forward’s play with his own eyes. “They constantly called me from America: “Come on, get ready...” The dogs in Chelyabinsk already began to bark: “Come on, go.” I began to understand their language,” said Kuznetsov.

In any case, the parting turned out to be beautiful - in his final match for Traktor, Kuznetsov took to the ice as a captain, as he always dreamed of.

In the NHL, everything didn’t work out right away, but Kuznetsov endured, persevered and now showed himself in all his glory in Washington. The huge path he traveled from the Traktor school at ChTZ to winning the Stanley Cup evokes great respect.

Unfortunately, now poor boys in Chelyabinsk or any other city, even with great talent, can hardly follow his path. But the example of Evgeny Kuznetsov should delight, motivate and lead forward to his dream. No matter how crazy or unrealizable it may seem.

Evgeny Kuznetsov is a famous Russian hockey player. Born in the territory of harsh men - Chelyabinsk in 1992. Repeated winner of Russian championships, World Cups and world championships. One of the highest paid athletes in Russia.

Biography

Even as a virgin, Evgeniy received a prophecy that he would become a great athlete. The guy justified himself thanks to unreal victories in hockey. The young hockey player conquered the ice fields of America and Russia.

Virginity

From an early age the boy loved sports. He started skating at the age of six. The father taught the child everything, and then he completely immersed himself in the game. The boy began to train in the basics of the sports institution - “Traktor”.

It’s good that the ice arena was next to the house where the Kuznetsov family lived. That is why it was convenient for Zhenya to spend her free time in the palace. The newcomer tried his best to show his best side. The boy trained three times more than other peers. Sometimes there were exercises on ice at night. The first coach was Vladimir Shabunin, who believed in the little champion. At that time he was the coach of the Traktor 1992 team. Such talent and hard work was hard to miss. He responded calmly to criticism, which helped him learn from his mistakes. The coach was surprised by this behavior.

Childhood photo of Evgeniy Kuznetsov

At the age of nine he had his first official tournament. Zhenya and his team then defeated the enemy. The boy showed his scoring skills. The coach noted that Zhenya scored the most. Became the best hockey player of the match.

The mentor taught me the secrets of hockey. Vladimir Shabunin also gave the boy his famous nickname - “Kuzya”. Sometimes during a match many fans shout his shortened last name.

Youth

At the beginning of 2004, coach Alexander Shvarev took a team of promising young guys. The new mentor quickly learned about the hockey nugget. For a long time he was amazed at the Ural craftsmanship.

Youth for Tractor

My skills immediately grew, so it was hard to play with my peers. The young guy began to practice with adult athletes. In 2009, the Traktor club took a hungry young man under its wing. The guy instantly proved his skills.

Zhenya Kuznetsov started playing professional hockey in 2010. This season, the athlete received the title “best player of the club.” The hockey player was appreciated by the management from Moscow. He was invited to play for the youth hockey team. The first stage of the championship with Zhenya’s participation was not successful. The young hockey players reached sixth place. Such a loss upset the hockey player, and he decided to train more.

The training turned out to be productive. A year later, the Russian hockey player won the World Championship in Buffalo. Zhenya scored the decisive goal. The game was decent and fun. Russia lost the entire match. In the end, the guys pulled together and won against Canada.

Professional career for Traktor

In 2012, the Russian guy received the captain's rank. The team won second place at the World Youth Championships. In that tournament he was named the best striker.

Evgeny Kuznetsov is a universal hockey player who can play in any position. It easily adapts to the game. Since 2010, he has been followed by the famous American team, the Washington Capitals. Russian celebrity Alexander Ovechkin performs there.

At the beginning of May I already played for the Americans. The management really liked the style of the game. They decided to extend the contract for two years.

Salary

Like all famous hockey players, Evgeniy receives a salary for a successful season, goals scored, a contract and advertising. The last contract was extended with the American club for eight years. The salary amount is $62.5 million.

Personal life

In mid-summer 2011, the ice arena celebrated a wedding. Evgeny Kuznetsov's wife was Anastasia Zinovieva. She is also an athlete. The marriage was confirmed by law two years later. Evgeniy himself decided the format of the holiday and wedding. The couple took charge of holding weddings on ice.

The young people did not have problems with housing. Zhenya received a new apartment from the city authorities. And four years later his wife gave birth to a beautiful daughter. They named her Yesenia. Judging by the social network and Instagram Evgeniy Kuznetsov, we can conclude that everything is fine in the family. There is a lot of love and understanding there.

Evgeniy is rich in humor and has loved to joke since his childhood. Due to injury, he often spends time in the stands and often cheers for teams. The cameras quickly spotted the celebrity. The fans greeted Kuznetsov. In the photo you can see a funny picture.

What is he doing now?

At the end of 2017, the American club again extended the contract with Kuznetsov. He will now play for Washington for eight years. The new season was successful for Zhenya. A talented hockey player proves his skills. And in the spring of 2018, the guy confirmed that he is an NHL star. Then they played against the powerful New York Rangers. That match became a record for the Russian hockey player, because he updated the points record to 76. By the way, Ovechkin has only eight points more.

Did you like it? Tell your friends.

Evgeniy Kuznetsov literally burst into Russian hockey and immediately began to show great promise. At first he played for Chelyabinsk Traktor, and then moved to play in North America.

Childhood and youth of Evgeny Kuznetsov

Evgeniy was born on May 19, 1992 in Chelyabinsk. Hockey is very well developed in this industrial city. It was this sport that the future Russian hockey star became interested in since childhood. Already at the age of six, his dad gave him skates. From that moment on, Zhenya never parted with them.

Daily hours of training on the ice were not in vain. Over time, Evgeniy enrolled in the Traktor hockey club school and continued his education. If his peers studied for 2-3 hours, then Kuznetsov devoted 8-9 hours a day to this. Even then he knew for sure that in the future he would be a hockey player.

Sports biography of Kuznetsov

Evgeniy made his debut in adult hockey in 2009. In his first season with Traktor, he scored only twice in 35 matches. But that was just the beginning. The next year, Kuznetsov was already recognized as the team's best player, and he received a call to the Russian youth team. At the first world championship with Evgeniy’s participation, the team failed and took only sixth place. But at the next tournament she redeemed herself and won. Then Kuznetsov became the author of the winning goal in the final and received universal recognition. The youth team repeated its success two years later. And again, Kuznetsov made a significant contribution to the overall success, becoming the best striker of the championship.

Evgeniy also played very well for Traktor and helped the team constantly reach the playoff zone of the Gagarin Cup. But the desire to play in the NHL was above all. And in 2014, Kuznetsov moved to Alexander Ovechkin’s Washington Capitals team.

In parallel with this, Kuznetsov began his career in the main Russian national team. During this time, he repeatedly took part in world championships and won gold with the team twice. This happened in 2012 and 2014. He also has bronze medals at the 2016 and 2017 World Championships. True, he has not yet been able to participate in the Olympic Games. In 2014, the head coach did not take him to Sochi, and in 2018, hockey players from the NHL did not participate in the competition.

As part of Washington, Kuznetsov more than once became the team's top scorer, but this did not affect the overall success of the club. And finally, in 2018, the team won the long-awaited Stanley Cup. Now Evgeniy is the owner of a ring that all tournament winners receive. At the same time, he made a feasible contribution to this success and became one of the best snipers of the past season.

Personal life of a hockey player

Back in 2011, Kuznetsov officially married a Russian girl, Anastasia Zinovieva. She also came from a sports family. Her older brothers studied with Evgeniy at the Tractor club. Before the wedding, the relationship of the young people lasted about two years. The wedding took place at the ice skating rink of the Chelyabinsk Traktor Arena.

In 2015, the young couple had their first child, daughter Yesenia. Evgeniy and Anastasia have not parted to this day and love each other. This can be understood from the many compliments that Kuznetsov gives his wife on social networks.

Famous hockey player Evgeny Kuznetsov was born in Chelyabinsk on May 19, 1992. Little Zhenya developed a love for hockey at the age of 6, when he began training in one of the sports schools in his city. The first mentor of the future celebrity was his father, who taught his son the basics of the game.

Start of a career

Hockey player Evgeny Kuznetsov, purposeful by nature, from a young age did not see himself anywhere else except on the ice. And if his peers devoted no more than 2 hours a day to training, then Zhenya could devote up to 8 hours in a row to this activity.

Vladimir Shabunin, Evgeniy’s first coach, speaks of his pupil with pride and warmth. According to him, Kuznetsov was ready to go on the ice at any moment, even if he was woken up in the middle of the night. Long-term training, the ability to adequately perceive criticism and work on oneself were not in vain. Soon, thanks to his brilliant play, the young hockey player’s career took off.

Playing for the youth team

In 2010, Evgeniy, being a member of the Chelyabinsk Traktor team, was invited to the youth team. However, then the Russian team was only able to take 6th place at the youth championship. This failure was an incentive for the young athlete to prove his professional skills, which he did successfully - following the match with Austria, hockey player Evgeny Kuznetsov was awarded the title of best player. Success increased with every match. About 50% of all goals scored belonged to Kuznetsov. He could play in any position, being equally good as a centre-forward, winger or defender.

Peak of popularity

In 2011, at the World Championships held in Buffalo, the Russian youth team took an honorable first place. It was hockey player Evgeny Kuznetsov who scored the decisive goal that brought the team the championship title.

The following year, 2012, Kuznetsov had the honor of becoming captain of the Russian national team at the World Youth Championships. The team led by the young hockey player took second place. The young player became a favorite of the audience and an object of imitation for younger hockey players. Photos of Evgeny Kuznetsov appeared in numerous sports magazines.

Evgeniy’s native hockey team “Traktor” keeps statistics on the achievements and games of the popular football player. So, in total, Kuznetsov played for the youth team in 83 championships and tournaments. Vladimir Krechin, general director of Traktor, calls Evgeniy’s goals small hockey masterpieces and claims that over the years the hockey player will not lose his outstanding abilities, but, on the contrary, will only exaggerate them. Contract with the Washington Capitals

On March 8, 2014, it became known that Evgeniy terminated his contract with his native Chelyabinsk club Traktor and signed a new agreement with the NHL team Washington Capitals. The new club drafted the Russian player a long time ago, back in 2010, but he always refused, and besides, Evgeny Kuznetsov, whose biography sparkled with bright colors, received an official invitation only now. According to some reports, the contract amount is $900 thousand per year. Kuznetsov left his homeland in a fighting mood, realizing that he had a game ahead of him in the strongest league in the world.

In Washington, twenty-two-year-old Kuznetsov plays under number 92. The Russian hockey player’s debut as part of the new team took place on March 10, 2014 in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The meeting ended in the defeat of the Washington team with a score of 3:2. Evgeniy spent just over 10 minutes on the ice, during which he was able to make only 2 shots.

Evgeny Kuznetsov scored his debut goal in the NHL on March 26 at the very end of the third period of the meeting with the Los Angeles Kings, thanks to which the teams equalized the score. The match went to a shootout, where the Kings hockey players were more accurate. Evgeniy scored his second goal on March 30 against Boston, and, like the last time, this happened in the final minute of the match, and also did not lead his team to victory. Now the hockey player’s fans know for sure where Evgeny Kuznetsov is playing this season.

2014 Olympics

On the eve of the Sochi Winter Olympics, in one of his interviews, the athlete admitted that winning the Olympic Games was the dream of his whole life. The hockey player, in order to represent the honor of his country at the Olympic Games, postponed the transition to the NHL for several years. According to Evgeniy, he was ready to do a lot just to get on the ice. Despite the Chelyabinsk "Traktor" he was not included in the Olympic squad. As Evgeniy commented, this decision of the coaches is quite fair, because the best of the best are selected for competitions at this level. Kuznetsov believes that he has only himself to blame for everything, because he was not worthy of being called up to the national team. What happened was an excellent incentive for the young football player to improve and improve his professional skills, because the next Winter Olympics are just around the corner, which Evgeniy simply must attend.

Personal life of a hockey player

On June 3, 2011, the wedding of Evgeny Kuznetsov and Anastasia Zinovieva took place at the ice arena of the Traktor team stadium. In such an unusual setting, the newlyweds exchanged rings and tied the knot.

Evgeny Kuznetsov’s wife is also from a sports family. Nastya’s two younger brothers were fond of hockey, and the girl accompanied them to training, where she met her future husband. Friendship relationships developed into real feelings after 2 years. Nineteen-year-old Evgeniy, monogamous by nature, realized that he could not live without Nastya, and immediately set a wedding day, choosing the ice arena as the place of registration. By the way, the Kuznetsovs, in a sense, can be called pioneers, since after them many couples began to hold similar celebrations on the ice.

The most unusual wedding gift was a sapling of a rare species of cedar, which currently decorates one of the corners of the city as an ever-living monument to the family happiness of the newlyweds. Immediately after the wedding, the newly-made husband and wife went to their apartment, which was given to the successful hockey player by the local authorities. And soon the newlyweds left for their honeymoon, hiding the place of their upcoming vacation from the press.

Evgeniy and Anastasia are an ideal couple; love and understanding reign in their family. A caring husband loves to pamper his partner with luxurious gifts. So, he recently gave her a luxurious Range Rover car. Young people dream of children in the future, but for now they decided to put it off and live for their own pleasure.
