Since 2005, the Olympics have been organized by Moscow State University and the Moskovsky Komsomolets Publishing House. Its main goal is to find talented young people from different regions of Russia. Every year tens of thousands of schoolchildren participate in the Olympiad, hundreds of them reach the finals and become students of Moscow State University.

I’ll tell you how the Olympics are going and what to pay attention to when preparing.

What does the Olympics consist of?

Quests Olympiads are divided into two categories: for participants from grades 5–9 and separately for 10–11. For high school students' work, the evaluation criteria are more stringent.

For example, at the Social Science Olympiad, both write essays, but schoolchildren from grades 5–9 must:

Stages. The Olympics takes place in two stages:

1. Qualifying - carried out remotely, tasks come after registration in your personal account on the official website of the Olympiad. The schedule is updated every year, but registration usually begins in November, testing itself takes place at the end of December, and results are announced before February 1.

After the participant receives the task in his personal account, he must select a time for the session. For execution test task given from one to several hours, for a creative task - a longer period. First (qualifying) stage

Format

The Olympics takes place in two rounds:

  1. Correspondence (qualifying round), allowing participants to complete tasks online.
  2. Full-time (final), which traditionally takes place both within the walls of Moscow State University and in regional centers for the Olympics.

Qualifying correspondence round

The first stage for everyone who wants to take part in the intellectual competition from Moscow State University will be official registration, which must be completed on the Olympiad website (pvg.mk.ru).

Students in grades 5-11 are given a whole month to complete the tasks of the Olympiad. They can build their individual participation schedule, observing the basic requirements of the regulations in such a way that they have time to complete all work before the end of the competition.

To solve the task for each of the proposed profiles, one session is allocated (7 calendar days / 168 hours). From the moment the participant receives tasks in his personal account, the countdown begins.

Final

The right to participate in the final round of the 2018-2019 academic year is given to:

  1. Winners and prize-winners of the 2018-2019 correspondence round.
  2. Winners and runners-up of the final round of 2017-2018 (provided that they have not yet completed 11th grade).

At the time of registration at the point of the final round of the Olympics, participants must have with them:

  • participant statement + 3 photos size 3x4;
  • an identity document (from 14 years of age this is a passport, up to 14 years of age - a school card with a stamp and photograph);
  • a statement from parents (or guardians) confirming permission to collect and process the child’s personal data (original handwritten);
  • certificate from the educational institution.

Benefits for winners and runners-up

Become an absentee participant qualifying round and complete all tasks with dignity - excellent result for students in grades 5-10. But future graduates strive for more. Their goal is a winner’s diploma (1st place) or at least a prize-winner’s diploma (2nd or 3rd place), because such awards automatically provide the opportunity to receive benefits when entering Moscow State University and other large universities in the country.
