The Olympiad is held for schoolchildren in grades 9-11 in physics. The Olympiad tasks include elements of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering, technical thermodynamics, electrical engineering, electronics, and nuclear technology. The Olympiad tasks do not go beyond the scope of the school physics course, but have a pronounced engineering character. The assignment includes assessment tasks, as well as tasks that examine the principles of operation of certain engineering systems (like “how does it work?” or “physics in technology”).

The Olympics are held in accordance with " The procedure for holding school Olympiads", approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia . In the 2017-2018 academic year " Engineering Olympiad schoolchildren" is included in the List of schoolchildren's Olympiads of the Russian Council of schoolchildren's Olympiads (level 2): ​​its winners and prize-winners will receive significant benefits when entering universities in the Russian Federation.

The Olympiad is held in two stages - qualifying and final.

Qualifying stage of the Olympiad carried out in two forms:

Procedure

The Olympiad is held in two stages: qualifying and final. The winners and medalists of the Olympics are determined based on the results of the final stage. Qualifying stage

Dates and times for the 2019-2020 academic year:

The in-person qualifying round will take place at St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" and at the sites of the organizing universities in other cities.

Final stage

The final stage is held in the form of an intramural Olympiad at the organizers’ university sites.

The date for the final stage in the 2019-2020 academic year will be published later.

Industry Physics and Mathematics Olympiad for Schoolchildren "Rosatom"

National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" and VlSU organize a regional site for the Rosatom Olympiad in mathematics and physicsbased at VlSU!

ATTENTION! Applicants and their parents are only allowed to participate in NRNU MEPhI events upon presentation of a passport.

For children under 14 years old, an original birth certificate is required.

For schoolchildren in grades 7-11 in mathematics and physics.

According to the regulations of the Olympiad, you can participate in any qualifying rounds - the best performance is taken into account.

·The qualifying stage of the Rosatom Olympiad is held in Moscow and at regional sites according to an agreed schedule in October-November. No more than 45% of participants in the qualifying stage make it to the final stage of the Olympiad.

·The final stage of the Rosatom Olympiad takes place in person in Moscow and the regions according to an agreed schedule in February-March. No more than 25% of the participants in the final stage can become winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad.

·Preparing for the Olympics. On the website in the “Preparation for the Olympiad” section there are assignments from previous years, study guides, video lessons with analysis of assignments in mathematics and physics from previous years
