National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI", Moscow State University of Transport (MIIT), Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after. R.E. Ulyanov (Lenin) are holding an Engineering Olympiad for schoolchildren.
The Olympiad is held for schoolchildren in grades 9-11 in physics. The Olympiad tasks include elements of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering, technical thermodynamics, electrical engineering, electronics, and nuclear technology. The Olympiad tasks do not go beyond the scope of the school physics course, but have a pronounced engineering character. The assignment includes assessment tasks, as well as tasks that examine the principles of operation of certain engineering systems (like “how does it work?” or “physics in technology”).
The Olympics are held in accordance with " The procedure for holding school Olympiads", approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia . In the 2017-2018 academic year " Engineering Olympiad schoolchildren" is included in the List of schoolchildren's Olympiads of the Russian Council of schoolchildren's Olympiads (level 2): its winners and prize-winners will receive significant benefits when entering universities in the Russian Federation.
The Olympiad is held in two stages - qualifying and final.
Qualifying stage of the Olympiad carried out in two forms:
Full-time, simultaneously at the sites of all organizing universities on the same assignments (October 29, 2017)
- Organizing universities may hold additional qualifying events, information about which can be found on the websites of the organizing universities.

Winners and prize-winners are admitted to the final stage of the Olympiad qualifying stage, which can be up to 45% of participants in the qualifying stage. Go to final round Olympiads can be based on the results of any qualifying round. The number of participations in the qualifying rounds is not limited.
The Engineering Olympiad is held for schoolchildren of grades 9, 10 and 11 in a range of subjects - physics, engineering, technology.

The Olympics are organized and conducted by a consortium technical universities Russia, including: National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI", St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" named after. V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin).
The subject corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad is physics. The Olympiad tasks include elements of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering, technical thermodynamics, electrical engineering, electronics, and nuclear technology.
The Olympiad is included in the “List of Olympiads for schoolchildren” for the 2019/20 academic year at number 16 as a second-level Olympiad in physics.
Procedure
The Olympiad is held in two stages: qualifying and final. The winners and medalists of the Olympics are determined based on the results of the final stage. Winners and prize-winners of the qualifying stage and winners and prize-winners of the Olympics of previous years are allowed to participate in the final stage.

Qualifying stage
The qualifying stage is carried out in two formats: writing the Olympiad in person, writing the Olympiad online. Participation in both tours is possible, the better of the two results will be counted.
Dates and times for the 2019-2020 academic year:
- Full-time qualifying round: October 27, 2019, starts at 10:00. Venue: building 5, room. 5427.
- Remote qualifying round: from 01.11.2019 to 31.12.2019
The in-person qualifying round will take place at St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" and at the sites of the organizing universities in other cities.
You must bring your passport to the in-person qualifying round.
Final stage
The final stage is held in the form of an intramural Olympiad at the organizers’ university sites.
The date for the final stage in the 2019-2020 academic year will be published later.
On final stage You must bring your passport and Olympiad participant card, printed in your personal account and signed by your parents.
Industry Physics and Mathematics Olympiad for Schoolchildren "Rosatom"
National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" and VlSU organize a regional site for the Rosatom Olympiad in mathematics and physicsbased at VlSU!
ATTENTION! Applicants and their parents are only allowed to participate in NRNU MEPhI events upon presentation of a passport.
For children under 14 years old, an original birth certificate is required.
For schoolchildren in grades 7-11 in mathematics and physics.
According to the regulations of the Olympiad, you can participate in any qualifying rounds - the best performance is taken into account.
·The qualifying stage of the Rosatom Olympiad is held in Moscow and at regional sites according to an agreed schedule in October-November. No more than 45% of participants in the qualifying stage make it to the final stage of the Olympiad.
·The final stage of the Rosatom Olympiad takes place in person in Moscow and the regions according to an agreed schedule in February-March. No more than 25% of the participants in the final stage can become winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad.
·Preparing for the Olympics. On the website in the “Preparation for the Olympiad” section there are assignments from previous years, study guides, video lessons with analysis of assignments in mathematics and physics from previous years

On October 7, 14 and 21, NRNU MEPhI will host qualifying rounds for school Olympiads at NRNU MEPhI:
October 7: Industry Physics and Mathematics Olympiad for schoolchildren "Rosatom" (mathematics),
October 14: Engineering Olympiad for schoolchildren (physics)
10.00 for schoolchildren in grades 9-11,
October 21: Industry Physics and Mathematics Olympiad for schoolchildren "Rosatom" (physics),
9.30 for schoolchildren in grades 7-10,
13.30 for 11th grade students.

Winners and medalists of the Olympiads - eleventh graders - will receive special rights when entering universities in 2019. Schoolchildren of grades 8, 9 and 10, who became winners and prize-winners of Olympiads at NRNU MEPhI, will also be able to receive special rights when entering universities when they become 11th graders.

Registration
To participate in the Olympiad, schoolchildren must first register on the website org.mephi.ru
If the student has previously registered on this site, there is no need to create a new account.
To register for the Olympiad you need to fill out "Olympiad Participant Form"(if you filled it out earlier, you need to check the address and school number/name and passport details). For pre-university students It is mandatory to indicate the lyceum number 1511 as the school number.
If the class number is indicated incorrectly, it’s okay - the class number will be automatically corrected when processing the work on the day of writing the Olympiad.
To participate in the Olympiad, you must print from your personal account "Registration card of the Olympiad participant."
To enter the university territory on the day of the Olympiad, you must have a Russian passport (for those under 14 years old - a birth certificate) and an “Invitation Pass” printed from the student’s personal account.
